Determining the Bolt Pattern

The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.

Bolt Pattern - Even

On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: "8 on 6-1/2" means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)

Bolt Pattern - Odd

To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: "5 on 4-1/2" means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)

Bolt Pattern Side

Measuring the distance (D) from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

  • If D = 2-5/8", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2"
  • If D = 2-3/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-3/4"
  • If D = 3", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5"
  • If D = 3-1/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5-1/2"

Good hub kit.

I'm a small customer but I'm treated like I own a trucking fleet at etrailer. This company truly puts the customer first. In addition to that their prices are more than fair and their products are top quality. I can't say enough about etrailer. My experience is 100% positive.

by:

Incredible value for money!
Wheelhub
on my cheap trailer disintegrated. Fortunately within a few yards of home- probably assembled without grease. . After fitting this replacement I decided that I wouldn't be able to survive a second failure so bought a kit to replace the other wheelhub since the kit was so affordable.
A deficiency on the first kit was dealt with so cooperatively by E-trailer that I am a fan for life.

by:

product came quick and installed easily:)!!! Thanks Jeff

by:

It was a bad day when the hub on my trailer disintegrated, although we were extremely fortunate it was unloaded and in the driveway. An hour later would have been a regular disaster. Found the right kit on E-trailer and delivery was as usual very prompt. To my amazement and irritation the sealed plastic bag containing the kit was one bearing short. But here is why I give them 5 stars; I was expecting a roll of the eyes when I told them a bearing was missing because it would be natural to believe the kit was correct and I had damaged or lost one of them right? I was anticipating a major argument. But the woman was extremely understanding and ACTUALLY APOLOGIZED rather than accuse me of dishonesty. CarryAnne even gave me her direct cell # in case there was another problem. Follow up was with George also first-class.
You learn little about a company when things go right, but it is SO GREAT to have a company respond properly when there is a problem.
I have used E-trailer for many odds and sods over the years along with other suppliers, but I will go out of my way to stay with E-trailer from now on.

by:

I'd rate this as excellent if all parts came as ordered. I ordered 2 sets to replace existing 4 lug hubs to make consistent with my second trailer to allow swapping of tires. With 5 lugs in one packet and 3 in the other I'm 2 lugs short of a full load. Love the video support, love the quick turnaround, just need to make sure I get all the parts. Overall installation was very easy on the second and I now have a decent understanding of what to look for in bearings and trailer wheels.

Thanks

by:

Rebuilt a boat trailer last year. I replaced both whole hubs instead of just the bearings. This saved me time and gave me confidence that the wheels are like new.

by:

Hubs and bearings arrived in perfect condition as described. Everything fit, and reassembly was easy. I did appreciate the videos that explained and showed how to pack the bearings and install the grease seals.
Thanks Etrailer. You just gained a new customer. no need to look anywhere else.

by:

This hub was exactly what I hoped it would be. All the parts installed easy. My trailer is back to normal. Note, this kit includes all the hardware, but you'll need to spend a couple bucks on lube either online when you order or at any local auto or hardware store.

etrailer.com is an excellent website - well constructed for identifying exactly what part you're looking for. Highly recommend!!

by:

We have been very satisfied with the products purchased for our operations. We utilize these components for our commercial operations mostly off road and they have held up very well. Etrailer has proved to be a valuable resource for us both in the quality of components that we utilize from them as well as the price point at which they sell the products. We will continue to utilize them in the future as we grow.

by:

Well after a year and about 2000 miles. Still good. I repack the bearings every 6 months depending on how much I use my trailer. It’s a 7 foot single axle used to haul a golf cart for trap competitions and hauling wood. Was concerned about the Chinese bearings but have no problems so far.

by:

My second time purchasing these hubs. First was for a boat trailer, this time for a jet ski trailer. Great product, very sturdy. Comes with bearings, grease seal, and outer races (already pressed into hub). Great value!

by:

I had contact with two employees from etrailer.com, they both went above and beyond to take care of me! The items that I ordered were not a stock item,so they contacted me and shipped the item(s) that were better than what I originally ordered! Can't wait to do business with them again! If you buy your trailer parts elsewhere, your making a mistake! Thanks George & Kat

by:

I built some trailer axles with spindle R104BT8 and theses hubs and the trailer works great. Pulled the trailer 500 miles on its first trip and it pulled true and the hubs never got warm. Thanks

by:

I have used etrailer several times in the past and always get the same result, great customer service, a quality product and lightening fast shipping. This particular order was placed at 430pm on a wednesday and the package was on my doorstep less than 22 hours later, and I didn't purchase expedited shipping.

by:

Excellent product. etrailer has always sold excellent products and the variety is exceptional.

I am very impressed with etrailer. One, their shipping cost are reasonable and, in addition, very timely. That product I recently purchased is good quality at a good price.
The staff in all of my contacts with etrailer has been exceptionally pleasant, experienced with excellent results. Very pleased with trailer.

by:

Quality is great for the price. Not much more to say other than thanks again to etrailer.com for another great product at a great price.

by:

Bearings from China we will see about quality after in service a while.
The kit could have included a new washer and nut with cotter pin.

by:

When it came time to change the Bearings ,Tire & Wheel on my small utility trailer , I shopped locally for these items and found them to be very expensive. I responded to your ad and found the same parts to be almost
50% less. I will be buying the parts for the other side soon. excellent service and fast shipping.

by:

Came as advertised. Bearings made in China but for the light use this trailer will get, not problem. Dust covers didn't fit very well and became very deformed as I hammer them on.
Shipped very fast!

by:

fast Delivery. Items where as described. And from the great state of Missouri. I am telling all my friends about etrailer.com

by:

This company had exactly what I wanted and the hub assembly came with more spare parts than I expected which is great. The price was HALF the competition and took just a couple of days to get no extra freight charge on ground shipping. I recommed them to anyone, companies like this keep small bussiness's going and I appreciate it greatly. Thanks again Marco.

by:

I used the hubs to upgrade from 4 lug hubs on a utility trailer. They worked wonderfully.

by:

Very good product, very satisfied .will purchase any other trailer parts here when needed. Great customer service.

You definitely want to avoid smoothing out the spindle because all of those pieces fit together with precision. Replacing the spindle is possible but the issue with that is that it will have to be cut out and then a new one installed by a professional welder. This also has to be done with precision so in this case it is much better to get a new axle so that you can ensure everything is aligned properly.
