Thoroughly Tested for Safety

This hub-and-drum assembly meets the requirements for certification by the Canadian Standards Association (CSA). The CSA creates standards, which when complied with ensure a safe and quality product. This assembly underwent extensive testing to measure stopping distances when braking. This assembly has also been tested by QAI for braking performance in a complete automotive setup and under real-world conditions to provide the most realistic scenario for the everyday driver.

E-Z Lube and Easy Grease-Compatible Assembly for Simple Lubrication

The grease cap on this hub-and-drum assembly is specially designed to work with your Dexter E-Z Lube or etrailer Easy Grease axle to make lubricating bearings quick and easy. Just remove the plug on the grease cap, attach a grease gun to the zerk fitting on the end of the spindle, and inject the grease. It will flow easily to both inner and outer bearings. Not only does this make lubricating the bearings easy, but it also helps to prevent corrosion of the hub. This is because you can lubricate the bearings without the mess of taking apart the entire assembly.

Determining the Bolt Pattern

The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.

Bolt Pattern - Even

On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: 8 on 6-1/2 means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)

Bolt Pattern - Odd

To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: 5 on 4-1/2 means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)

Bolt Pattern - Side

Measuring the distance (D) from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

  • If D = 2-5/8", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2"
  • If D = 2-3/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-3/4"
  • If D = 3", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5"
  • If D = 3-1/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5-1/2"

The hubs were great and well greased, however the boxes were destroyed, the hubs were exposed, the rubber caps were still on the hubs, but some of it was exposed. I made sure there was no dirt in the packing. We will see if they hold up, I'm ready to take a 3k mile trip.

by:

My gosh i will never try to fix another trailer hub again. You folks saved me time and money. New hub slid right on the spindle, all greased and sesls installed. Parts alone would have been more than the new hub from you. I like anything that makes my life easier

by:

Also easy to install and worth the coast. Comes with the bearings already greased.

by:

They made for an easy install on a tandem trailer, whose idler axle I upgraded with brakes, once I had the proper size (5 on 5). The first set were mislabeled & contained the wrong size (5 on 4.75). etrailer promptly sent proper replacements and a call tag for the improper ones.

by:

These worked great

by:

Drums were very easy to order from etra iler.

by:

Thanks George for the service, the 10 inch hub-drum and the 7 pin plug made the trailer rebuild much better. Your company is by far the best I have ever dealt with, I can't say enough about the fast shipping and the quality of your products. I will be ordering more hud- drums for another trailer soon, again thanks.

by:

Converted Carson trailer front idler axle to electric brakes. Parts fit excellent.
Customer service was superb even when I ordered wrong part.(my fault) The return of wrong part was handled very professional. Very happy with Etrailer parts quality and employees.

by:

Speedy delivery, you tube videos very helpful, excellent product.very easy to install.

by:

I actually needed two hubs but somehow only ordered one. I ordered a second hub overnight and paid for overnight shipping to find out that it was sent two day air. This in turn has put me in a bind as I have to be on the road within 30hrs. Other than the shipping FUBAR great service and product.

by:

These were great and came with bearings, dust seals, and new lugz. My old ones seemed a little warped. Nice paint on the outside, time will tell if it stands up to snow and salt.

by:

No problem with them thus far. Straightforward install with the bearings, races, and drums.

by:

Actually ordered the wrong bolt pattern but was pleasantly surprised by etrailer’s assistance regarding the return of the wrong hub/drum assemblies as well as the purchase of the correct ones. Great Customer Assistance!
These pregreased hub & drum assemblies are a great product making replacing these parts a breeze! Comes with pregreased bearings and seals in place ready to be installed. Couldn’t be easier!
Thanks etrailer!

1 year later and still working Great!

by:

Product came fast. Everything that came with it was exactly as stated and fit perfectly. Thanks again to Derek for all his help and tech support.

by:

Installed four sets of these hubs and drums, along with new electric brakes, as part of a total trailer refurb a year ago. Had some challenges early on with one wheel overheating, but solved it with the help of etrailer's excellent tech support. Since then everything is fine and I couldn't be happier.

I ordered the wrong parts from another vendor without even knowing it. Once I found my mistake I called the fine people at etrailer and explained what I had done. They walked me through a few steps and had exactly what I needed. Thank you very much.

The hubs fit right the first time and have worked flawlessly.

by:

My original purchase was for a new weld on spindle with new drum/hub assembly with bearings for the other 3 wheels. I measured the wheel pattern wrong and by the time I had realized this I had installed everything. I reached out to etrailer for help and thanks to Hally C. she was able to remedy my issue with the right parts in about two days with little trouble at all. Thank you to etrailer for technical assistance and speedy delivery of new parts. Advice to anyone ordering hubs and drums remember the old saying about carpentry, measure twice and cut once, (in this case measure twice and order once) or you'll be like me and now own a hub/drum that's sitting on your shelf collecting dust because you don't own anything it fits (yet lol)!

by:

The hub and drum assemblies fit well and there was no damage so everything went together nicely. What I have come to expect from etrailer.com!

by:

Awesome communication, quality parts, my go to for everything trailer related. I recently ordered a few small axle parts from Amazon and was sorely disappointed, etrailer quality is night and day difference.

by:

Outstanding customer service with Jesse M. My son and I placed a order for a complete axle with drums and electric breaks for a 3500 lbs rated 5 lug wheel, it was delivered the next day. We took it to our farm 150 miles from home to do the repair every thing went fine till we go to the drums wrong size. They were 5-4 1/2 and we didn’t no there is three.various sizes called Jesse and he told us how over the phone how to measure drum problem is we had tape measure and wasn’t sure of the exact measurements. Got the next size drum 5X4 3/4 guess what didn’t fit ether and another call to Jesse who sent us an email with a printable wheel drum template cut it out and solved our problem this time we brought the wheel and drum with us home and used the template fit like a glove 5X5. Jesse sent returned authorization form sent both sets drums back through UPS of credit to my account and Jesse waved the last return shipping charge. It doesn’t get any better than that folks and as soon as we head back to farm to install I’m going to call Jesse to thank him again. Thanks

by:

Everything arrived in great shape. All the parts ordered worked fantastic. Spent a Saturday getting trailer rebuilt and back on the road-new axel-brakes-drums. Everyone at e-trailer were very helpful

by:

The unit came well packed originally and was easy to install. Have used 22' tandem axle to haul mixed loads up to 5000 lbs at least 2 a month since rebuilding it completely and have had no problems stopping. only issue is lost a grease cap plug recently

by:

I got the wrong size brake drums because I measured improperly but other than that everything was fine. I added brakes to a trailer that had none. . I had to re-order the right size and now my trailers on the road. My recommendation is to take your wheels down to your local tire dealer and have them measure the lug diameter with their gauge before you order.

We do indeed carry axles with a 95 hub face and 80" spring center. Knowing that it is a 5 lug hub, you are likely dealing with a 3,500 lb rated axle. If you want to confirm this you could always measure the diameter of the axle tube. A 3,500 lb axle should have a 2-3/8" tube diameter. If it is a higher capacity it would be a 3" tube.
