Thoroughly Tested for Safety

This hub-and-drum assembly meets the requirements for certification by the Canadian Standards Association (CSA). The CSA creates standards, which when complied with ensure a safe and quality product. This assembly underwent extensive testing to measure stopping distances when braking. This assembly has also been tested by QAI for braking performance in a complete automotive setup and under real-world conditions to provide the most realistic scenario for the everyday driver.

E-Z Lube and Easy Grease-Compatible Assembly for Simple Lubrication

The grease cap on this hub-and-drum assembly is specially designed to work with your Dexter E-Z Lube or etrailer Easy Grease axle to make lubricating bearings quick and easy. Just remove the plug on the grease cap, attach a grease gun to the zerk fitting on the end of the spindle, and inject the grease. It will flow easily to both inner and outer bearings. Not only does this make lubricating the bearings easy, but it also helps to prevent corrosion of the hub. This is because you can lubricate the bearings without the mess of taking apart the entire assembly.

Determining the Bolt Pattern

The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.

Bolt Pattern - Even

On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: 8 on 6-1/2 means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)

Bolt Pattern - Odd

To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: 5 on 4-1/2 means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)

Bolt Pattern - Side

Measuring the distance (D) from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

  • If D = 2-5/8", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2"
  • If D = 2-3/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-3/4"
  • If D = 3", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5"
  • If D = 3-1/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5-1/2"

Fast shipping, cheaper than the online site named after a river, easy to install, added some grease to the hub, reused the washer and Castle nut and done. The bearings were prepacked so much faster to install. This eliminated an outdated wheel on my small rv and now I have the same wheel on all of my small trailers. They are a direct replacement for a #84 axle. I will definitely shop with etrailer again

by:

The part was very clean, robust, easy to install. I replaced 5 on 5.5 hubs on a 6x10 Wells Cargo trailer and added trailer brakes.

by:

The drums matched what I had perfectly the product came with the bearings pressed in just had to lube the bearings insert the grease seal and install great product

by:

The Easy Grease Trailer Hub is a perfect fix! I cooked an outside wheel bearing while traveling to Arizona from Oklahoma. Had to remove the bad wheel and limp last 30 miles on 3 wheels. Got the EZ hub from e trailer via ups, cleaned up axle with Emory cloth and 5 minutes later boom! Good to go with perfect fit! So impressed that I ordered another to carry in horse trailer as a spare!
Note: the 2nd one came quickly but the box looked like it had been through a battlefield…maybe y’all could put the box in another box to protect the hub from careless package handlers…Still a happy customer!

by:

I must say I am very impressed with customer service as I ordered the parts over the phone. The person I talked was Troy. I checked the parts on the web site and I made a list of what I needed and called customer service. Their web site made it so easy, they truly have their act together at this company.

One thing I did before I placed my order was to remove one hub and checked the bearing numbers! Just to make sure. and checked the wheel stud measurements. I ordered my parts for a 3,500LB EZ Lube Axels 10" Dia - 6 on 5 1/2.

So easy even a caveman can do it! I removed all the parts from the box and laid everything out and checked for any missing parts. They were spot on with the parts. My son and I removed the old tires and hubs, cleaned up the spindles. I took the new bearing and placed them on the spindles to make sure they fit. Perfect so far.

I showed my son how to hand packed the bearings and set those aside. We installed the brake kit on the axels,*** Please note make sure you order the bolting kit! 8 nuts and 8 washers. only a few bucks.**** I have a 20 year old son, he asked if he could do one side, sure why not. He ended up doing both sides. He enjoyed how easy it was. Once they were bolted in place, we made sure everything was tightened down. Next we made sure the hubs were spotless, we used a brake cleaner to remove any particles to insure a good clean surface. The races were already installed at the factory, which made it so much easier. We put a nice amount of grease in the hub between where the bearings sit placed grease on the race and installed the bearing. I packed the back of the grease seal with grease and installed the seal tapping it in place with a block of wood making sure it went in nice and straight, Fit like a glove! I had my son do the other side. From there he wanted to do the rest, so I let him.

Everything fit like a glove, the hubs slipped on nice and easy, installed the front bearing washer and the castle nut, The Cotter key was not included with the kit, no problem I always have extras. tightened the castle nut nice and firm to seat the bearings spin the hub around a few times and than backed the nut off about a half turn and installed the cotter pin. I put a nice amount of grease in the hub cap and tapped it into place. I have to say it was a very easy to convert to standard hub to electric brakes.

Next I took a wire wheel to the frame down to bare steel and drilled a 1/4 hole, installed a waterproof wire ring terminal on one of the green wires for the ground. Tightened it down to make a nice connection and sprayed black paint over the bare steel to prevent rust, Both sides were done in the same manner. I connected the other 2 green wires and I ran wire up to the control box following the existing wires along the frame.

I installed the brake controller but I forgot to order the junction box! So I am waiting for that to arrive. So I am pretty much done except for the one item. Very easy I can't say enough but, Thank you Troy! It was a pleasure dong business with E Trailer. I just wish I took some pictures!

After 20,000 miles of travel, these are still working great and having the ability to grease these is a great advantage to their life expectancy.

by:

Amy from eTrailer was wonderful. She not only helped me pick the right hub and bearings, but she let me know that it was available as a combo already put together and greased. I have received it and will be installing tomorrow morning so we can continue our trip from Maine back to S.C. Thank you!

by:

Perfect fit .Delivered on time as expec ted

by:

This was part of the order I never recieved. But there again I have ordered a single hub & drum and it had NO grease caps.

by:

Awesome service!!

by:

I purchased this at a discounted price because the description stated only the dust cap was missing. When it arrived, the seal was also damaged and not usable.

Quick shipping, perfect fit trailer was back on the road quickly

by:

I am not exaggerating when I say etrailer's customer service is second to none. You don't have to wait to get someone on the phone, the people are knowledgeable, parts are in stock and ship quickly. They also make returns effortless.

by:

The AKHD-655-35-EZ-K hubs from etrailer that I purchased for my 2000 CM Drover 3 horse trailer arrived cleverly packaged and undamaged when promised. Two days, everything included as advertised! Very impressive! The etrailer site made the considerable effort of downselecting to the best kit pretty darn easy! When I called to order, Julie was a lot of help, pleasant, a positive part of the etrailer experience! Thanks!!

by:

The brake drum hub was a perfect match. Customer service was above reproach very patient. RV manufacture put in axle On the trailer with odd hubs, end it took several attempts to acquire the correct parts. Customer service was very patient sent return labels and me the whole process as painless as possible.

they have a customer for life!

Great

by:

seem ok so far, I wish they sold these as a kit with backing plates like they do 5 lug

by:

These drums came complete with hubs and are painted and well protected against rust.Perfect compliment to my new brakes!

by:

I ordered these hubs to replace the existing ones on my camping trailer so I could replace the tires with a heavier load range rating. The hubs arrived in a timely manner and were a good quality replacement. The improvement in the stability of the trailer while being towed was a very noticeable difference. etrailer has been a great company to buy from and a very good resource for information if you are not sure about a purchase.

by:

One drum came without a dust cap. I believe the drum previously opened. A spare was used so no real issue.

by:

Only suggestion I can make is that the hub caps need to be packaged attached inside the drums to avoid the damage they will take with the current method of shipping..The races were installed and the bearing were prepacked with grease, and sealed with removable plastic seal caps

by:

these were also a direct replacement of the original drums, these took about an hour and a half with packing the bearings, seals, installation of drum and wheels. This was a remove and replace which went very easy.

by:

Knowledgeable customer service. Thanks

by:

Greta price and perfect fit. Thanks

by:

Great product, packaging was impressive and arrived very quickly. Bearing all packed in marine grease, well done.

by:

Hubs worked exactly as anticipated. Very quick shipping. Great products, easy to install and even videos of "how to" if needed.
