This hub-and-drum assembly meets the requirements for certification by the Canadian Standards Association (CSA). The CSA creates standards, which when complied with ensure a safe and quality product. This assembly underwent extensive testing to measure stopping distances when braking. This assembly has also been tested by QAI for braking performance in a complete automotive setup and under real-world conditions to provide the most realistic scenario for the everyday driver.
The grease cap on this hub-and-drum assembly is specially designed to work with your Dexter E-Z Lube or etrailer Easy Grease axle to make lubricating bearings quick and easy. Just remove the plug on the grease cap, attach a grease gun to the zerk fitting on the end of the spindle, and inject the grease. It will flow easily to both inner and outer bearings. Not only does this make lubricating the bearings easy, but it also helps to prevent corrosion of the hub. This is because you can lubricate the bearings without the mess of taking apart the entire assembly.
The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.
On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: 8 on 6-1/2 means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)
To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: 5 on 4-1/2 means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)
Measuring the distance (D) from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

The wheel hub was extremely easy to replace. The video went into detail on how to remove the old and install the new. Since my RV was parked in a austere place, I went in prepared and the replacement was quick and easy. The wheel hub was exactly as described. It arrived a couple of days late but that was purely due to a bad winter storm that shut everything down.
I was in desperate need for new hub/drum assemblies for my flatbed trailer. Once again etrailer came through for me. I particularly like the fact these arrive assembled with seals and pre-packed bearings.
great product. super easy to grease wheel bearings with these. easily remedies one of the most forgotten and most important parts of trailer maintenance.
Our Flat bed trailer can do some pretty heavy work however we do not use this trailer all the time. When the brakes failed we ordered from etrailer and the parts came in and we installed them without much ado. Thank you for having all the parts we needed. After a year of seldom but heavy usage the self adjusting brakes are still working splendidly.
The hubs bearings and seals are outstanding products and pretty simple to install. I had a small issue with the dust caps as they were to tight to just tap into the hub. I like the fact that the wheel studs in these hubs are a little longer than factory parts! Great Product.
This was way easier than expected, the hardest part was the mess inside, but installing the kit per the online video instructions was a snap and I encourage anyone to do theirs. Here's a couple after pictures.
these arrived ups in poorly wrapped boxes with one hub openly displayed but after close inspection it appears no damage and they fit onto the hub without issue. like they're pre-packed with grease, bearings so they are ready to install. they slid on easily and matched up with new brakes ordered earlier. all around great package for brakes overhaul. highly recommend
Hub and drum assembly fell apart in the center within one year! Bearings look fine!
I purchased this hub assy to replace a bad hub on a Lippert 5200# axle (race was spinning). Also replaced brake shoes on both sides of axle using shoes ordered at same time hub was ordered from e trailer. Hub & brake shoes have been installed and tested. All works fine. The replacement hub and shoes were an exact match to old parts except for some minor casting differences in replacement hub exterior. Hub and brake shoes were shipped in the same carton and although hub movement squashed a brake shoe box in transit all parts were there and none had damage. Parts arrived 1 day ahead of schedule. Hub assy is very complete, I only needed to supply grease and cotter pin. I was unable to install new hub dust cover supplied for some reason, seemed oversize, but old one fit fine. I will use e trailer again because of my positive experience with my order, Thanks.
Just one of the many satisfied customers with the company etrailer. I have used this on line site to refurbish my used boat trailers over the last 10 + years. During this pandemic I sort of let my trailer sit around and just wait until the end is near to react and make the trailer road worthy. After 3 years in out of salt water (mostly in) you might get this. After acquiring new brakes and drums from etrailer it’s back to the salt water again. Thanks for the essential workers at etrailer George, Savanna, and Carol. Cheers
This order was excellent but my last order was shipped on Mar 22 this is April 10 still don't know where it is
Parts were an exact match. I replaced the brake assemblies, drums and bearings on my toy hauler. Was not sure these would work with Lippert 5200 lb. axles but, etrailer assured me I was buying the parts I needed.
Just received in the mail today every thing looks like great quality thus far
Everything went well with the installation. Working with etrailer made things happen. Thanks etrailer.
Brakes have been working great! And customer support was outstanding!
We had pulled our travel trailer to Arkansas and back ( to Ga) I had noticed we had very little brake left on our camper. Turned out the grease seals had leaked on all four wheels. After having used these for the past year I have to ask myself why I didn’t replace the drums and hubs on my 30’ travel trailer sooner. Everything has been trouble free. Thank You etrailer!
Just finished installing these drums with magnets I purchased elsewhere (etrailer was out of stock). The fit and finish of the brakes drums is very good. The boss design around the studs should allow more airflow and provide better cooling. The longer studs will most likely accommodate alloy wheels if you have them or are thinking about an upgrade. One of the inner bearings had a small deformity in the cage but I was able to fix it with no problem. Also, the spring came out of one of the inner seals which took a bit of work to get repaired but, all is well now. As has been reported, the caps just don't go on like they should. For me, it was a simple matter of reinstalling the OEM caps and all is well.
I have put over 40,000 miles on this trailer in the past year and the trums snd himubs have been trouble free. Good wuality bearings
Received 4 total brake sets, backing plates with shoes, drums, lugnuts, bearings and seals. All very good quality. Only gave a 4 star as I was amazed the 5 backing plate bolts "were not" included. Everything else was so complete. I have spent fair amount of time rounding up 20 3/8"X1"-24 grade 5 bolts and nuts. Seems that today no one stocks many of these causing me to run around trying to round up a total of 20 each. I live 15 miles from town so I spent some valuable time for something I thought would surely be included in an otherwise complete package. That being said, I am very pleased with etrailer.com in every other aspect. They are very helpful on the phone information also.
I just finished replacing a brake drum on my fifth wheel travel trailer . This new one purchased from e trailer, fits great! Easy to install! I am most impressed with the service and ease of ordering and being able to track my order daily. This order was even sent to me quicker than what I originally thought it would arrive. This is my second order from e trailer, and I will be ordering from them again when I need parts for my fifth wheel travel trailer. Great service!
These brakes are excellent. I have had zero issues with them since the day they were installed. NOTE: On average I haul around 8K lbs and also not often so take my review with a grain of salt. Sometimes the load is heavy (a front end loader) and other times it's not (trash run). Either scenario, no issues. A quick gain adjustment and brake check and I'm gone. I checked the bearing play after a week or so and around the 8 month mark. Both times were A+. I think I'm 17 months into ownership. They're still working flawlessly. When new, these drums had little OOR (out-of-round) which surprised me. Most drums have some sort of noticeable OOR. These no so much. My trailer stops quietly and effortlessly now. No pulsation, skipping, tugging, etc. Would I buy these again? ABSOLUTELY!!
Fit as they should, could have been boxed in a heavier duty box but other than that great...
After the old backing plate was removed from my 20 year old boat trailer, the installation of the new backing plate and break assemble took less then one hour . The drum with the bearings installed slid right on .
Everything fit fine but the assembly didn’t come with the spindle nut, d washer or spindle nut retainer,.. it’s taken me 3 days to find them locally because I don’t have time for shipping and not willing to pay 65.00 for overnight on 16.00 parts.. it doesn’t work without them so I thought they were part of the assembly.
