Thoroughly Tested for Safety

This hub-and-drum assembly meets the requirements for certification by the Canadian Standards Association (CSA). The CSA creates standards, which when complied with ensure a safe and quality product. This assembly underwent extensive testing to measure stopping distances when braking. This assembly has also been tested by QAI for braking performance in a complete automotive setup and under real-world conditions to provide the most realistic scenario for the everyday driver.

E-Z Lube and Easy Grease-Compatible Assembly for Simple Lubrication

The grease cap on this hub-and-drum assembly is specially designed to work with your Dexter E-Z Lube or etrailer Easy Grease axle to make lubricating bearings quick and easy. Just remove the plug on the grease cap, attach a grease gun to the zerk fitting on the end of the spindle, and inject the grease. It will flow easily to both inner and outer bearings. Not only does this make lubricating the bearings easy, but it also helps to prevent corrosion of the hub. This is because you can lubricate the bearings without the mess of taking apart the entire assembly.

Determining the Bolt Pattern

The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.

Bolt Pattern - Even

On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: 8 on 6-1/2 means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)

Bolt Pattern - Odd

To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: 5 on 4-1/2 means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)

Bolt Pattern - Side

Measuring the distance (D) from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

  • If D = 2-5/8", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2"
  • If D = 2-3/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-3/4"
  • If D = 3", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5"
  • If D = 3-1/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5-1/2"

Only one of the 4 where delivered. Had to call to find out other are still in transit.

Boxes were in great shape this time. Super glad about that!

Perfect. Pre-greased was the way to go

The hub assembly was an EXACT replacement for the OEM hub on my 5th wheel trailer. It was easily installed to replace the hub that failed. I was surprised at how quickly etrailer shipped the part and how fast it arrived at my home.

Never had a problem with the replacement hub assembly. I worked perfectly up until we traded for a new 5th wheel in Sept. 2018.

Awesome customer support

I needed new hub and wheel parts for a 7k lb axle on a large triaxle toyhauler. Michael H was very helpful answering questions and George J had the right parts to me quickly and efficiently. and their staff are excellent to work with.

Great except that you sent me lug nuts that are too small for the studs.

Fast friendly service and the products are great. Thanks

Great prices on quality products.

  • Correct Replacement for AL-KO 568182 or Hayes 09089324
The correct replacement we offer for an AL-KO 568182 or Hayes 09089324 is the Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly part # AKHD-865-7-1-EZ-K which will work with the EZ-Lube Spindles (Dexter) and UltraLube (AL-KO). I can confirm the above will fit an AL-KO H60 Axle. I unfortunately don't have any reference to the Titan part number you listed.

  • How To Use 17.5" Wheels On a 7,000 Lb Trailer Axle
In order to use 17.5" diameter trailer wheels you'll need to upgrade to 9/16" lug studs. There are no other options as all wheels this size use this size or larger since they are designed for more weight. In order to do this you'll need the Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly part # AKHD-865-7-1-K for standard or part # AKHD-865-7-1-EZ-K for EZ-Lube. Then, you can use a 17.5" diameter trailer wheel like the Aluminum Lynx Trailer Wheel part # 274-000006. I have attached a full list of wheel options...

These brake assemblies are side specific and are labeled for you. They are self adjusting after the initial adjustment at installation. • How to Determine if a 7K Dexter Trailer Axle Hub has 1/2 Inch or 9/16 Inch Studs
The only difference between the Dexter 7K hubs and hub and drum assemblies that have either 1/2 inch studs or 9/16 inch studs are the studs themselves. Otherwise they are exactly the same. You can use calipers such as # PTW80157 to measure the diameter of the studs you have. Or you can check the hubs you have for any numbers stamped into them. If you see a 219-04 or 219-09 then it has 1/2 inch studs. If you see a 219-13 or 219-18 they are 1/2 inch. It is also possible that this information...

  • What Wheel Studs Does 7k Trailer Hub # AKHD-865-7-1-EZ-K Use
We do not have a version of the trailer hub # AKHD-865-7-1-EZ-K with longer wheel studs but the replacements are # 7-257 which you can check out to see what specs you'd need to get longer ones. The spline diameter is .689 and .31 of an inch long.

  • Recommended Hub and Drum Assemblies and Brakes for 7,000 Pound Triple Axle Trailer
To determine exactly which hubs you need you'll need to find your bearing numbers. Most likely you have # 25580 and # 14125A but verify to be sure. If these are correct you'll next want to find the diameter of your wheel studs and if you have E-Z Lube axles. If the studs are 9/16 inch use # AKHD-865-7-1-EZ-K for E-Z Lube axles and # AKHD-865-7-1-K for standard axles. For 1/2 inch studs instead use # AKHD-865-7-2-EZ-K for E-Z Lube or # AKHD-865-7-2-K for standard axles. Then you need...

  • How To Upgrade from 6-Lug to 8-Lug Hubs On a 7K Axle
In order to swap from 6-lug hubs to 8-lug hubs on a 7K axle you simply need new hubs, the Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly part # AKHD-865-7-1-EZ-K. The Electric Trailer Brake Kit part # AKEBRK-6 can then be used to add brakes to the un-braked axle. It is not very common to have 6-lug hubs on a 7K axle so this will be a great option for better parts compatibility.

  • Trailer Hub and Drum with 8 on 6-1/2 Bolt Pattern and 9/16 Studs for 7,000 Pound Axles
The size socket used isn't necessarily going to be the same as the nut or stud thread size. It is usually larger since the outer width of a hex head is larger than the threaded diameter. Hub and drum assembly # 8-219-13UC3 for 5,200 to 7,000 pound axles does indeed have a stud diameter of 9/16 and would take 9/16 inch lug nuts. If you want a complete kit, we don't have the 5/8 inch stud size, but for the 1/2 inch stud option, I recommend the Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly - 7,000-lb E-Z Lube Axles - 12" Diameter - 8 on 6-1/2...

  • Best Way to Grease Trailer Hub that Has EZ Lube Spindles
Here's the process on pumping grease into a hub that has EZ lube spindles. But please be careful not to overfill the hub as it's easy to do and will blow out the grease seal. First, grease your bearings and spindle by hand or with a bearing packer like part # L70025. Next, insert your bearings and grease seal in the hub and mount your hub on your spindle....
