Determining the Bolt Pattern

The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.

Bolt Pattern - Even

On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: 8 on 6-1/2 means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)

Bolt Pattern - Odd

To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: 5 on 4-1/2 means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)

Bolt Pattern - Side

Measuring the distance (D) from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

  • If D = 2-5/8", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2"
  • If D = 2-3/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-3/4"
  • If D = 3", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5"
  • If D = 3-1/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5-1/2"

Item is as described. Installation was easy after viewing the installation video. Customer support quickly responded to questions about the grease used and torque for lug nuts. Made for a reasonably priced, easy repair of a broken boat trailer.

After a year, the hubs are still working great.

by:

The axle hubs arrived quickly! Appear to be a good hubs. When I had a question about the type of grease used with the pregreased hubs, so I didn’t cross contaminate, I called customer service and quickly got my answer….
LITHIUM…. Surprisingly the answer wasn’t in the reviews.
Only complaint is they are made in China and don’t have nipples for adding more grease in the future…

I used the trailer for a cross country round trip. 5K non stop driving. The trailer axles and hubs were fantastic!

by:

Buying the entire hubs, bearings, and seals all as one package was definitely the way to go. The price was comparable to buying all the individual components separately, but the savings in installation time was the main benefit. I highly recommend these hub assemblies when your bearings need replacing.

by:

For those who has the Harbor Freight 62645 (40-1/2? x 48?) utility trailer that has the .98**" shaft and 1.181" (30mm) seal shaft . Yes this is your hub, just need to replace the kit seal with a National 473426 seal.
For my purpose, changing from the 4.80-12 4 ply to a 145R12 10 ply tires I used 1" 4"x4" wheel spacers. The wheel studs was to long, so I purchased and installed the (K12WB169) Kodiak Wheel Bolt - 1/2 Diameter X 1-7/10 Long. Perfect fit!
This kit has a little bit heavier bearings, so the castle nut may have to filed a little bit to get the cotter in, due to the so called Chinese precision notches. No one locally have a replacement castles nuts. I will replace these a later when I find better quality ones.

Overall product quality is pretty good for the price , no issues with casting or bearings which is what counts . Dust covers are the usual stamped steel so there is a pretty good burr lip that needs a bevel to help start it inside the hub bore - just be aware of it and it makes the job much easier .

I used these hubs to do a conversion on a garden tractor - going from very small lightweight ball bearing stamped style 1" inside flanged push-in type to trailer hubs and 8" - 4 bolt trailer rims - can't say enough about how much better this upgrade works and much more serviceable on my old Wheel Horse . For those running a loader on the larger garden tractors this upgrade is a must unless you like buying new wheel bearings constantly - this conversion will last a lifetime if cared for properly . E-Trailer is always great at answering questions and will help with dimensions if you ask - that is priceless in today's world of non-support retailers , wish other outlets would handle customer service like E-Trailer .
I won't hesitate for a second to buy needed parts from these guys - good pricing , fast shipping and details that others won't take the time to include with product listings . Got my trailer brake controllers for both trucks , several other build parts to wire my trailer for a full 7-wire system including fused power feed and reverse lights - thrilled with everything I've ever bought from them . Will be back in the future , that's for sure .

My brother in law's old side delivery hay rake broke down. The carrier bearings and housing for the rake teeth bars and carrier assembly were totally gone. This thing is probably from the 50's and parts no longer are available. I looked it over and figured that a trailer hub and spindle shaft could be modified as a replacement. Ordered a 4 on 4 hub and a 1.25" spindle from etrailer. The parts were in my hand in 46 hours and as of today the rake is back in operation. Turned out to be a pretty easy fix since the 1.25 spindle fit perfectly into the old mount and just had drill a retaining pin hole and had to cut off about 3/4 " of the weld end of the spindle to get the correct spacing. The lug bolts fit snuggly into the hole from the original bearing housing which helped line up the assembly. All I had to do was fabricate a round plate with holes for the hub's lug bolts which was then bolted to the larger wheel which carries the rake teeth bars.

Still working great.

I ordered and installed a pair of Trailer Hub Assemblies from etrailer to replace the failed and rusted hub assemblies on my motorcycle trailer. The new parts fit perfectly and the job was easy to complete thanks to the provided instructions. The sales person at etrailer was very helpful in finding the correct hub assemblies for my particular trailer and the new assemblies were mailed within 24 hours of my order. I also appreciated the tremendous value, I spent much less than what I expected to pay for a hub assembly. Thanks etrailer, I will use you again!

The hubs are still performing well!

by:

These were exactly as described and made the job of replacing the hubs on my 2000-lb. axle easy. My tip for folks who are using this product is to leave the front seal in place until you have placed the hub assembly on your spindle. Push it back until the end of the spindle forces the seal off. (See photo.) I watched half a dozen [online] videos of people installing similar pre-greased hubs, and in every single one, when they placed the hub on the spindle and pushed it back, they accidentally pushed out the front (outer) bearing and sometimes the race behind it. (When the etrailer guy does it in the installation video the front bearing doesn’t get pushed out, but he’s “cheating”—doing it in a studio on an axle raised up to a convenient height!) It’s not a big deal to put the bearing back in if it falls out, but it’s messy and the point of getting these was not having a lot of mess. Also if it drops on a dirty floor you can end up with dirt in the grease.

by:

They were exactly what I wanted. Performing as hoped after one year.

by:

I needed a few things. A hitch, wiring and accessories for my new Mustang on one order, and a hub kit with bearings and seals and tires for my small utility trailer on another. etrailer had it all, the site is easy to negotiate, prices are OK, quality is good, delivery time was excellent and everything was in stock. The hitch was poking out of the box when it arrived so a little touch up paint on the points fixed that, my only gripe. Their helpful hints section is also very welcome. Next time I need anything towing related, etrailer will be my first go-to place.

by:

Restored a vintage boat trailer. The hubs and bearings worked perfectly. Excellent quality.

by:

Had a cracked hub on a kayak trailer build. Heard about e trailer and wow. What I needed I also had to pay shipping but even then the hubs was 20 a piece cheaper online and 30 a piece cheaper than local. These hubs was upgrade so I don’t have to fight bolts when putting wheel on. Great price and product. I am hooked on getting all my stuff from them in the future. They even threw in the quicker shipping with no additional cost to me. You can see what I had and got in the pictures

by:

Everything came packaged good and ready to go. It was very affordable and of good quality. I would recommend it to anybody in need of more bearings. The shipping is really good with keeping you up where your package is and how long you have. It also doesn’t take long for your shipping. Overall I am impressed and I will definitely be back!
The dent on the cap is from me putting in on by the way lol

by:

Cheap price. Lightning fast shipping. Great product. The only thing that could make it better is if it came with the outer washer an cotter pin but no biggie. They're like 80 cents each so I could just run to the hardware storev an grab some. Fitment was spot on thanks dust cap was a little tough to get on but I just slbent the sides a little an she went right on.

by:

Love you guys and your entensive produc ts!

by:

The customer service folks were so kind and patient as they helped me identify the proper wheel hubs for my trailer.

by:

This was the forth or fifth time I've ordered from E-trailer and as always everything was great! Quality product at a fair price and excellent customer service. I can't say enough good about these folks.

by:

Great website. Great customer service. Trailer hub was perfect for my Flying Scot sailboat trailer. Easy DIY. I purchased trailer bearing protectors too. The set that was shipped were the wrong size for the hub. I’m sure they’ll make it right when I call.

by:

I have pulled the trailer with these hubs for over 3000 miles now. They have worked great and the ride is very smooth. These are great hubs!

Dan C.

Its been over a year now and Ive pulled the trailer around 6500 miles. The hubs have done well and Ive had no issues with them. I have bearing buddies on them and grease them every ~2000 miles. Ive had loads that pushed the upper limit of the tires and it was no problem. The trailer has always pulled straight and true.

by:

Exact replacement for the trailer hubs and bearings thanks to the chat service to assist in my purchase. I'd recommend this site for all your trailer needs.

by:

EVERYTHING WORKED GREAT - REBUILT TOWABLE ENGINE HOIST

by:

Thanks to you I made the wheelbarrow that handles any load you can lift

by:

I purchased these hubs, spindles, wheels and tires for a machine that I'm building. Initially, I tried to source them locally, but nobody had all six items that I needed. So I turned to etrailer again, and was very well pleased. All the items are of very high quality and work together without any modification. And the price, including the (free) shipping from etrailer was less than any local vendor, and they were delivered in less than a week. etrailer comes through once again! Thank you, etrailer!

by:

Arrived quickly. Good quality and perfect for my application.

by:

Kit came complete, bearings pre-packed and ready to install saving a lot of time and mess. Parts fit without any modification, basically an R & R situation. This was installed on a boat trailer whose bearings and races were pitted and worn. I bought the Bearing Buddies also because the trailer gets backed into the water to unload the boat. Should be good for another season and many miles,

Based on past information and that bolt pattern you most likely have 2,000 lb axles on your 1966 Apache Eagle Tent Camper.
