E-Z Lube and Easy Grease-Compatible Hub for Simple Lubrication

The grease cap on this hub is specially designed to work with your Dexter E-Z Lube or etrailer Easy Grease axle to make lubricating bearings quick and easy. Just remove the plug on the grease cap, attach a grease gun to the zerk fitting on the end of the spindle, and inject the grease. It will flow easily to both inner and outer bearings. Not only does this make lubricating the bearings easy, but it also helps to prevent corrosion of the hub. This is because you can lubricate the bearings without the mess of taking apart the entire assembly.

Determining the Bolt Pattern

The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.

Bolt Pattern - Even

On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: 8 on 6-1/2 means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)

Bolt Pattern - Odd

To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: 5 on 4-1/2 means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)

Bolt Pattern - Side

Measuring the distance (D) from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

  • If D = 2-5/8", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2"
  • If D = 2-3/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-3/4"
  • If D = 3", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5"
  • If D = 3-1/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5-1/2"

Package arrived quickly with all parts complete and as described and ready to be installed. Fairly easy installation.

I sold the trailer after install - so I have no idea how it worked out, but the axle hubs seemed solid when I sold the trailer.

Perfect fit! Replaced the old Dexter h ubs

Exactly as described. Not installed yet, but they look like fine product.

Hub came in packaging that held everything together making it extremely easy to install. Customer service representative was super knowledgeable and helpful.

exactly what i needed

Product was a perfect fit! They arrived within 5 days with just standard shipping. Installation video was spot on and saved me some time for certain. I finished off the hub replacement with new radial tires, also purchased earlier from etrailer

Cap should have slid on easier

Staff very helpful figuring out hub for antique boat trailer. Arrived as scheduled. Went on easily. Well packed bearings. Good experience.

Very easy to install and zero issues after a year!

Great call with Helen T.,knowledgeable, emailed me a quote with the items we discussed, made ordering super easy.Placed order after 12:00 noon on Wed.,free shipping, received my order on Friday.Clear communication throughout the process.Totally sagisfied,my second time to buy from E Trailer, great buying experience both times.

Arrived on schedule. Took two orders, but finally got the correct hub/bearings. Easy install.

This was just what the doctor ordered! The most difficult part was getting the old corroded hub and bearings off. Once that was accomplished the new hub slid right on. Ove the fact that it was pre-greased. Thanks so much to Christine for helping me get the right part and for the fast delivery. You guys have a customer for life!

I bought a replacement axle and idler hubs for my utility trailer. Overloading with heavy firewood finally took its toll! Everything from showed up by UPS Ground right on schedule and the parts went together very nicely. The hub bearings are factory-lubricated, saving that critical step. I tested it out yesterday and the trailer runs fine. I would have to rate the products and purchasing experience as excellent (5 stars).

first class.

One hub came with the wrong seal. They covered the cost of the right one. It still wasted time and caused frustration. The studs are already rusting but have not seen road salt. I am doing a major overhaul on this trailer down to bare metal. I haven't road tested it yet. Good price. Easy shopping online.

You’re amazing! You made
an overworked, overwhelmed old man very happy!

My son and I were rebuilding a boat from ground up, it had to be finished by July 30.
Myself and eight old men were going to take the boat up the Mississippi River.
We’re going on a 4 day we survived CV-19 boat trip.

Anyway, the wheels fell off the trailer while traveling down the highway to test the boat. My son forget to tighten the lug nuts. The boat was ok but the hubs were destroyed, It took us 3 hours to limp 2000 some feet back home.

So I called etrailer this Friday the 10th of July in the afternoon, Danielle got the replacement hubs to me the 11th of July, Saturday afternoon, Amazing!

You have a customer for life! No one has ever ever treated me like that. I’m telling “EVERYONE” that the customer service at etrailer is second to none.
I’m so happy I shopped at etrailer.

Thanks Danielle!

I was confused about the races so I called in and spoke to Justin, within 5 minutes he had answered my questions and given me the correct part#’s for my application- I went ahead and replaced both sides so I don’t have to worry about it again! He was super helpful, patient with my questions and very friendly! I really appreciate him! Great product too, they were ready to install out of the box and went on with ease!

Great high-quality hubs with pre-packed bearings. I replaced the axle and hubs on a Haul-Master 1195 lb. 4' x 8' folding trailer ( from that ubiquitous store that sells cheap tools - you know the one). I wanted a heavier duty axle with hubs that are standard sizes and could be repaired with readily available parts should I experience a breakdown on the road. These installed on my new axle without a fuss and were perfect on my first 300-mile trip hauling my enduro bike to the trailhead.

After 1 year they are working as good as new . put on a custom built home made light aluminum trailer to haul a small airplane . work great tires also work great

The fit was perfect. Delivery got post, took 10 days to arrive. Instead of 6.

Perfect fit, no grease needed, but extra filled so have towels ready. I took the trailer a couple hundred miles on the freeway with no issues

Excellent fitment and seem to be very strong products!

Everything fit fine and works perfectly

Simply a breeze to install. The pre-packed hub was ready to go. The how-to videos were also helpful. My trailer was back together in minutes.

looks to be made of quality material... I'm very pleased!... we haven't had the opportunity to test them on the road, yet. The only thing that keeps me from rating this with 5 Stars is the lack of a cotter pin included. Not a game changer but, it would have saved me a trip to the local hardware store. But, then again, any excuse to go to the hardware store is fine by me. Like I said... I'm very pleased with the hub and with etrailer's customer service!

  • Determining If Trailer Idler Hub Assembly AKIHUB-440-2-EZ-2K Fits Road King Trailer W/ 1500lb Axle
It is possible that the Trailer Idler Hub Assembly for 2,000-lb E-Z Lube Axles - 4 on 4 - L44649 Bearings - Pre-Greased # AKIHUB-440-2-EZ-2K you were looking at will fit your Road King Trailer with 1500lb axle, but you will need to confirm the bearing combination your spindle uses to be sure. To do this you will need to remove one of your hubs and look for the bearing numbers stamped in the face of each bearing as shown in the included picture of the # L44649. The # AKIHUB-440-2-EZ-2K...

A BTR spindle uses a 1.063" diameter L44649 bearing and a BT8 spindle uses a 0.99" diameter L44643 bearing. In order to find out which you have you will need to pull the hub and either measure the spindle diameter where the inner and outer bearings ride with a digital caliper like # PTW80157 and/or look for the bearing numbers on stamped on the inside of each bearing. A 1.063 straight spindle is compatible with an L44649 bearing. I'd recommend the Dexter # 8-91-05UC1-EZ hub as a replacement. The hub has a 4 on 4 bolt pattern and is compatible with the L44649 inner and outer bearing. Since your current hubs use lug bolts, it's considered hub-centric, which means that the lugs merely hold the wheel onto the hub, but the portion of the hub that extends through the pilot diameter of the wheel provides much of the load support to carry the weight of the...

  • Timbren Axle-Less System vs. Torsion Axles for a Sail Boat Trailer
I recommend the Timbren Axle-Less Suspension System # ASR2000S01 over a torsion axle for your trailer for a few reasons. First, the Timbren System increases ground clearance without increasing your trailer height. The Timbren System is also easier to replace as you can replace one spring at a time. They also operate independently of one another to minimize bounce for a smoother ride compared to the torsion axle system. An E-Z lube spindle is included with the system, but a Trailer Hub...
