Determining the Bolt Pattern

The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.

Bolt Pattern - Even

On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: 8 on 6-1/2 means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)

Bolt Pattern - Odd

To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: 5 on 4-1/2 means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)

Bolt Pattern - Side

Measuring the distance (D) from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

  • If D = 2-5/8", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2"
  • If D = 2-3/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-3/4"
  • If D = 3", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5"
  • If D = 3-1/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5-1/2"

My goodness, that was definitely a mistake on our part. Customer Service will be touch so that we can have the hubs shipped out for you.

by:

Overall quality is excellent. Solid galvanized finish. Complete with bearings, races installed, lugnuts, and seals.

by:

Perfect fit and solves my trailer probl ems.

by:

The service was great. I could have used a little more guidance to make sure that I ordered the correct hub. I had to purchase a different set of bearings as the ones that were shipped wouldn't fit over the axle shaft.

by:

So far so good. Had to modify for a wood splitter. A much better upgrade than what it came with. Will be updating the other side.

by:

Product is great but you need to use another form of shipping. USPS never delivers on time and sometimes, like in my case. I needed the hub by a specific time which e-trailer said I’d get it by but the shipping was delayed by usps. Please consider using a different method of shipping that is more reliable.

by:

Wrong bearings were sent Initially???? Correct bearings were eventually sent to complete the project.

by:

Both products and shipping were excellent. The wheels and hubs were nice quality and easy to install on a custom built utility trailer. The packaging was very neat. The delivery was super quick.

by:

Great replacement for Hobie Kayak trailer used in saltwater... hubs look like they will hold up better being galvanized. Great bearing and seal replacement.... great fit.

Shipping was very fast and parts were spot on.

by:

Parts fit perfect. I just wish the kit included a cotter pin.
The old hubs were frozen in place and the grease inside was completely dried, including the bearings. I opted to replace entire hub as I new I would damage something trying to get the old races out of the old hubs. Clean up the spindles and proceed with the install. It was fast and easy.

by:

Still working well!

by:

I should have known but I didn't read reviews. No Cotter pin! That is such an easy thing to add but they don't. It requires a trip to the store making this a pain in the rear. Would be a cool bonus to add a new nut as well. I think the instructions are not very in depth either but still a good product.

by:

I thought the hubs and bearings looked good and the install went OK. Took the boat out for one fishing trip and get back home to see both sides are trashed. The left side completely pushed my bearing buddy out and looks like it may have been riding on the axle spindle. I don't know if the outer races weren't completely seated in the hub when they were shipped or if the bearings are absolute junk. If they are going to ship the hubs with the races pre-installed they should be seated properly if you ask me.

by:

Working as they should

by:

Good fit and holds up. Haven’t hauled over 500 lbs

by:

Just as described. Nicely packaged. Quality parts at a great price. It would be nice if a cotter pin was included. Because if your not a mechanic like me and have some. You are going to have to make a trip to the parts store to complete your project. Other than that I highly recommend getting your parts here. I used these hub to convert a log splitter to a hub and wheel assembly instead of the one piece. Worked perfectly.

by:

Good hub, good price. Purchased for a vintage Alloy brand boat trailer. Perfect replacement . Matches the hub on the other side which I purchased from Etrailer some years ago. Nice to have this stability in the products offered. The only addition I made was to also order a double lipped grease seal at the time of purchase, since this is a boat trailer application.

After a year of service, hub is working fine. The double lipped grease seals I added are also doing their job. No complaints!

by:

Parts arrived as shown and were easily installed. They were used on my boat trailer so the galvanized hubs were a perfect fit. Etrailer is easy to work with and communicates the progress of your order via email.

by:

Great fit, great customer service.

by:

Perfect fut!!! Got our bow fishing boast ready to hit the water!!

by:

Had a strange hub that used lug studs and one of the threads stripped. This item was cheap, shipped quick, and put my utility trailer back in service. No complaints, would buy again.

by:

I thought this came pre assembled but it did not

by:

Great price. However, after tightening the bearings down so the wheel moves freely, there seems to be a little bit of a grinding noise. If I loosen it too much, then there's some wobble in the hub. Will know the next time I take the boat out. If I hear any grinding and if the hub gets warm, we'll have to contact customer service. For the price, if I get 2 years out of the bearings I'd be happy. I would have preferred a better bearings that were smooth, maybe higher quality like a timken.

by:

Seems in this day and age something always comes up. Not with thease hubs and bearings. Everything was as described and fit like a glove. I'm really looking forward to getting my boat out now.

by:

As always e.trailer delivered quickly and everything was well packaged. I've been using e.trailer a lot recently and they are on top of their game.

Hello Genia, thanks for reaching out. The Kenda 165/65-8 Bias Trailer Tire with 8" White Wheel - 4 on 4 - Load Range C # AM3H200 will work with a 1" spindle, provided the spindle is fitted with a 4 lug hub like part # AKIHUB-440-2-G-1K.

It sounds like you are needing the Trailer Idler Hub Assembly # AKIHUB-440-2-G-1K for your trailer. This hub fits the BT8 Spindle # TRU59FR which is 1" in diameter and has a length of 4-1/4" long from the inner bearing landing to the end of the threads. The Idler Hub Assembly # AKIHUB-440-2-G-2K you found fits a BTR Spindle # TRU44FR which has a diameter of 1.063" for the hub bearings.

Since you need # L44643 bearings with an ID of 1" and a 4 on 4 bolt pattern the correct part would be the Trailer Idler Hub Assembly for 2,000-lb Axles - 4 on 4 - Galvanized # AKIHUB-440-2-G-1K. If you have an easy grease/EZ Lube axle then you would need the Easy Grease Trailer Idler Hub Assembly for 2K Axles - 4 on 4 - Galvanized # AKIHUB-440-2-G-EZ-1K instead.

This is a replacement part for the Demco Kar Kaddy so it'd use the existing spindle and mounting bolts to install. For a spindle, the closest it looks like we carry is a 2,000 lb spindle like the BT8 Spindle for 2,000-lb Trailer Axles # TRU94FR. • What Hub Do I Need For A Trailer With 4.80-4.00-8 Tires
I can certainly point you in the right direction. Most 4.80-4.00-8 tires will use a hub with a 4 on 4, or 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern. Since your trailer is fairly small, I suspect it would be a 4 lug hub. Next we just need to confirm your trailers spindle/bearing sizes. Most smaller trailers like yours use a # L44643 (1" inner diameter) bearing or a # L44649 (1.063" inner diameter) bearing. You will simply need to pull one of the current hubs and confirm the bearing size. You can do this...
