E-Z Lube and Easy Grease-Compatible Hub for Simple Lubrication

The grease cap on this hub is specially designed to work with your Dexter E-Z Lube or etrailer Easy Grease axle to make lubricating bearings quick and easy. Just remove the plug on the grease cap, attach a grease gun to the zerk fitting on the end of the spindle, and inject the grease. It will flow easily to both inner and outer bearings. Not only does this make lubricating the bearings easy, but it also helps to prevent corrosion of the hub. This is because you can lubricate the bearings without the mess of taking apart the entire assembly.

Determining the Bolt Pattern

The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.

Bolt Pattern - Even

On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: 8 on 6-1/2 means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)

Bolt Pattern - Odd

To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: 5 on 4-1/2 means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)

Bolt Pattern - Side

Measuring the distance (D) from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

  • If D = 2-5/8", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2"
  • If D = 2-3/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-3/4"
  • If D = 3", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5"
  • If D = 3-1/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5-1/2"

I have an issue with my hub assembly kit; before I ordered product I called customer support and went thru order process with your product expert ; during installation process an issue with the grease seal the outside diameter is correct for the new hub but the inside diameter is 1.50 and my trailer spindle is 1.25 so I called customer support and was told I would just have to purchase new ones, I feel there is a flaw in your order process not to have this included in the information needed

Comments
The seal that is listed on the product page is a 10-9 seal that has an inner diameter of 1.50 inches. We do carry the seal part # 34823
Double Lip Grease Seal - ID 1.249" / OD 1.983" - Qty 1
$2.35
that has the 1.249 inches inner diameter and outer diameter of 1.983 inches.

The complete kit cost less than if only the bearings were bought locally. The kit included EVERYTHING a real time/effort saver. Price was very good and shipping was unbelievably fast. Communication about the order was perfect. The races being already installed was a nice touch. Very, Very happy customer! This was my third order and all have been really first class.

Gwen was super helpful in me getting the correct parts to replace the axle and hubs on my H.F. fold up trailer. NOTE: If you aren't sure the hubs are for your axle, contact etrailer customer service to make sure. I ordered the wrong hub for my axle and had to pay to ship them back, then wait a week for the correct hubs to be delivered. Also the axle nut, washer and cotter pin was missing, but Gwen got them shipped to me and they arrived in time for my trip.

by:

Perfect fit! Asked for replacement hubs for a Dexter D20 axle and these are what were suggested.

by:

I bought this as a spare for my trailer. I kept it in my car along with a tub of marine grease. Just for emergencies. I was visiting my son in NY fishing on Long Island Sound. The hub on his trailer was wobbling when we pulled the boat out. I had a spare and it saved the day. Great parts at a great price!

by:

I think you did a great job getting me the right parts. It means a lot tome when you get the parts for the job. I will in the future buy your parts again. Thank you.

by:

The product arrived as expected. The time to process, and ship the product was longer than expected. Order placed 4/16, arrived 4/26.

by:

Very prompt service, order received in 2 days. Company representative (Hallie) Capable and knowledgeable of company products.

by:

The right hub for my Karavan small boat trailer with EZ lube hubs. Over 7,000 miles and not single issue.

by:

The hub is still going strong after a year of regular use. I keep it greased and it does the rest. The price was right, too. This hub with bearings and seals was about the same price as the bearings alone at the local auto parts dealer. I do have two small negatives, neither of which take a star off my review. One, the dust cap fits very tightly and is hard to get on the first time. I had to grind the edges just a bit for it to go on. Second, the grease seal with the kit didn't fit my axle, although the bearings did. Check on this if your axle is a bit different. I don't remember the dimensions, but it was the ID of the seal that was too big.

Worked great

Everything arrived in good order and condition. What has really impressed me with etrailer is the customer service. I received emails from real people answering my questions and keeping me up to date with my order status. I even got a phone call from the shipping person making sure they facilitated my order in the best way possible for me. Count me as being really impressed!!!! I will be ordering all of my trailering supplies from your company in the future. I wish more companies ran this way. Great experience!

by:

Etrailer had the parts on hand. (Important in this time of shortages) The parts were shipped expeditiously and should work well.

by:

I’m really impressed with the high level of service that I’ve received from etrailer! Great customer service regarding ordering correct replacement hubs/bearings! Fast free shipping and overall positive experiences ( 2- orders)!

by:

Only been about 400 mi but working well

by:

easy install, no issues after a year in use

by:

I had no problem putting these new hubs on my Shortland'r PWC trailer. The inner grease seals that come with the package had to be swapped out for a different size, but that was a small added cost. The studs are plenty long for the wheels I have and with a shallow depth lug wrench, you might lose a little of the overlap on the lug nut.

by:

I had to replace all the hubs after two years of minimal usage. The manufacturer had assembled the axles without washers and spun all bearings and races! They didn't even use galvanized hubs. Quick delivery and exact fit! Thank you etrailer!!!

by:

etrailer is the best. Hub and bearings worked great. A part was damaged in shipping and etrailer shipped a replacement right out. What are you waiting for? Get online or call etrailer TODAY!

by:

This is a great company. I have placed several orders over many years. This company knows the product they sell. Customer service and order accuracy is unmatched. Highly recommend.

by:

Part was & is spot on. Great service I also ordered a wheel tire w/ my order it was an odd size , tried to guess it I was wrong. The day after delivery I called them spoke with Katie , she found the correct size and arranged return shipping of wrong wheel. Absolutely 1st class American speaking Customer service.!!!!

by:

First off I have to give Natalie so much credit for all the help in finding the idler hub for my 35 year old boat trailer. Unbelievable all the digging she had to do. As for the hub it was the exact one I needed. I now know where to go for trailer parts.

Perfect fit for my 8x8 snowmobile trailer. I like eTrailer as it is easy to find the specific parts you need and they also have helpful installation videos too.

by:

The grease seal was the wrong size for my axle. May have been my fault not sure. Had to uninstall and get new seals and reinstall. Of course it was 0 degrees out!

Comments
Good to know that you were able to get the correct size grease seals for your axle. This kit includes the inner grease seal 10-9 that has an inner diameter of 1.5 and outer diameter of 1.987.

  • Replacement Trailer Hub for the TDE 46205 with Galvanized Finish
I looked up the information on your TDE 46205 Hubs and found a couple of great replacements for you. The one you pick will depend on the number of wheel studs you have. For 5 wheel studs use the etrailer Trailer Idler Hub Assembly for 2,000-lb E-Z Lube Axles - 5 on 4-1/2 - Galvanized part # AKIHUB-545-2-G-EZ-2K For 4 wheel studs use the etrailer Trailer Idler Hub Assembly for 2,000-lb E-Z Lube Axles - 4 on 4 - Galvanized part # AKIHUB-440-2-G-EZ-2K These are designed for the straight...

  • How to Determine Replacement Hubs for Home Built Trailer
Unfortunately yes, you'll have to pull the hubs to get the bearing numbers. The hub assemblies you referenced, part # AKIHUB-545-2-G-EZ-2K, include a grease cap with a rubber plug that is removable. This allows you to access the zerk fitting on your trailer's spindle, if you have one. If you have a zerk fitting on the spindles then you have E-Z lube axles. I've attached pictures of both spindles for you to see the difference. If you don't have E-Z Lube axles instead the same hub assembly...

Before proceeding, I'd take a moment to confirm the spindle diameter, because there are two different bearing sets that are very close in dimension, so you'll want to be absolutely sure of the measurement you get. We recommend using a digital caliper like part # PTW80157. When dealing with specifying spindle/bearing ID dimensions a ruler or measuring tape typically won't provide enough accuracy which is why using a caliper is preferred. Luckily, FLOE International is still around. I was able to find that your 10 foot tilt single axle snowmobile trailer used an L44649 inner and outer wheel bearing. Your snowmobile trailer was equipped from the factory with idler hubs that had a 5 on 4-1/2 inch bolt pattern.
