Determining the Bolt Pattern

The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.

Bolt Pattern - Even

On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: 8 on 6-1/2 means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)

Bolt Pattern - Odd

To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: 5 on 4-1/2 means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)

Bolt Pattern - Side

Measuring the distance (D) from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

  • If D = 2-5/8", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2"
  • If D = 2-3/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-3/4"
  • If D = 3", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5"
  • If D = 3-1/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5-1/2"

We install these hubs on our trailers for years and they have worked well without any problems.

by:

Over all it is great but beware using the rubber caps for easy lube axles as they are not water tight.

by:

Knowledgeable sales person, quick shipping and product worked as it should

by:

One year later, still happy with my hubs. Great price, easy installation for a first-timer. etrailer has outstanding instructions and support.

by:

The hubs I ordered were a exact match. They worked out very well. Highly recommend!

by:

Excellent service. Quick response to my questions

by:

They worked well

by:

The product was fine, other than the fact that the packaging was poorly prepared for a long ride with, UPS. Upon arrival there were two black boxes, taped together with no extra tape holding the ends. One box came open and lost all its contents before arriving to me!
Again, good product but poor packaging.
I was not able to attach the pictures, did that through the email option.

You guys are awesome!!! Thank You.

by:

Great service looks to be well made. Customer service was very helpful .

by:

Products arrived as stated, however when the package as opened, there were 4 of 5 lugnuts, and one was an un-threaded standard nut. Although there was a QC signature on the package, QC was not done here. Contacted customer service and they sent out the replacement lug nut same day, got it 4 days later. Overall, very satisfied.

  • Which etrailer Trailer Hub with 5 on 4-1/2 inch Bolt Pattern Fits 1-1/16 inch Diameter Spindle
The big difference between those two part numbers is the spindle size they are designed to fit. The part # AKIHUB-545-2-LF-2K that you referenced is the correct fit for your spindle since you have a 1-1/16 inch diameter spindle whereas the # AKIHUB-545-2-LF-1K is the correct fit for spindles that are 1 inch in diameter.

  • Parts Needed to Go From a 4-Bolt Hub to a 5-Bolt Hub on a Dexter 1,800 lb. Axle
For your Dexter axle you will use either the Trailer Idler Hub Assembly # AKIHUB-545-2-LF-2K (for bearing size L44649) or the Trailer Idler Hub Assembly # AKIHUB-545-2-LF-1K (for bearing size L44643). You would just want to pull off your current hub and check which bearing you have. I have linked our selection of 13" wheels and tires that will fit either of the above hub assemblies.

  • Will Trailer Idler Hub Assembly # AKIHUB-545-2-LF-2K Fit 2,200 lb Axle
Yes, the trailer hub part # AKIHUB-545-2-LF-2K that you referenced will work on a 2,200 lb axle as the bearings are the same between the two axle capacities.

  • Replacement Hub for 2022 ShoreLandr Boat Trailer
Thank you for providing that information. According to ShoreLandr your current hub uses # L44649 inner and outer bearings. That means you can use the Trailer Idler Hub Assembly for 2K Axles - 13" to 15" Wheels - 5 on 4-1/2 - Pre-Greased # AKIHUB-545-2-LF-2K. However, it does look like they use a different seal with an inner diameter of 1.063". I recommend measuring your current grease seal to verify this information. If that is the case, you can still use this hub but you will need to...

The Trailer Idler Hub Assembly # AKIHUB-545-2-2K you referenced is compatible with wheel diameters from 8-inches up to 12-inches. It is not usable with your 13s. For a similar idler hub that uses the same bearings (meaning it will fit on the same spindle as the other part) you can use one of the hubs shown on the linked page. All items shown use the same L44649 bearings, work with 13-inch wheels and have the same 5-on-4-1/2-inch wheel bolt pattern as the part you referenced. All of these...

  • Recommended Hubs for Small Trailer with 5 on 4-1/2 Bolt Pattern
Since you provided the bolt pattern and bearing numbers we won't be needing the pictures. The hub assembly I suggest is the idler hubs # AKIHUB-545-2-LFEZ-2K. These are rated for 2,000 pounds and include the bearings, races, seal, grease cap, and lug nuts. For the same kit for standard spindles instead of the E-Z Lube use # AKIHUB-545-2-LF-2K.

  • Grease Seal Inner Diameter that Comes with Trailer Hub # AKIHUB-545-2-LF-2K
I wish we offered a grease seal that has the correct inner diameter for your spindle and would fit the hub you referenced but nothing we offer matches that. You seem to have a spindle with the bearing surfaces of a BTR (1.06 inch) and the grease seal dimensions of a BT8 spindle (1.25 inch.) I'd recommend using a caliper like part # PTW80157 to measure the spindle where the seals and bearings ride to confirm this.

The hubs you have part # AKIHUB-545-2-LF-2K need to fit a BTR spindle like the # TRU44FR. Sounds like you have the STUB style of spindle which is shorter like you have found. To pick out an axle I'd need to know the length of your current one from hub face to hub face and from spring seat center to center.
