E-Z Lube-Compatible Assembly for Simple Lubrication

The grease cap on this hub is specially designed to work with your Dexter E-Z Lube axle to make lubricating bearings quick and easy. Just remove the plug on the grease cap, attach a grease gun to the zerk fitting on the end of the spindle, and inject the grease. It will flow easily to both inner and outer bearings. Not only does this make lubricating the bearings easy, but it also helps to prevent corrosion of the hub. This is because you can lubricate the bearings without the mess of taking apart the entire assembly.

Determining the Bolt Pattern

The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.

Bolt Pattern - Even

On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: 8 on 6-1/2 means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)

Bolt Pattern - Odd

To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: 5 on 4-1/2 means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)

Bolt Pattern - Side

Measuring the distance (D) from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

  • If D = 2-5/8", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2"
  • If D = 2-3/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-3/4"
  • If D = 3", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5"
  • If D = 3-1/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5-1/2"

Quick two day delivery! Good quality part (made in China) and an easy, cost effective way to replace damaged or worn out bearings and races. Just add grease and press in the seal! Just completed a 500+ mile trip with trailer and street bike in tow and had no issues.

Comments
After some 3000 highway miles and a few rough country roads carrying motorcycles and ATVs, only issue has been a lost dust cap.

Everything went together easily and fit just like it should. No issues on a 600 mile round trip at interstate speeds towing 5000 pounds on a dual axle trailer.

Comments
These worked just fine while on the trailer and still look new when I replaced them recently with a set of drum brakes.

by:

Exactly as pictured. I can't comment on fitment as I did not buy it to use at this time but rather as a spare to have with me on a long trip. I opened it and checked everything and it appears well made. The only reason for four stars and not five is the bearings are not pre-loaded with grease but rather shipped dry. This is not a big deal as I always have the grease gun with me but I would have preferred them to have had grease in them and sealed for rust protection but I'll just grease them and put them in a zip lock bag, I''ll also put a little grease inside the Hub for rust protection.

Comments
They are kind of like a spare tire, you dont use it or need it until you do. Mine is packed and sealed up ready for the roadside fix I hope never comes.

I had the opportunity to deal with a few sales consultants on an issue I had with a broken hub. After a few phone calls and emails, they were able to send me the parts that I wanted. I sent the consultants multiple photographs with measurements. These photographs were uploaded to my account for future reference. I was very pleased with the experience, as I had never utilized etrailer prior to this order. I highly recommend etrailer!

  • Replacement 3,500lb Dexter Axle For Diamond C 3RBT Utility Trailer
Based on the information you gave me, the closest axle we have is the 3,500lb EZ-Lube Dexter axles which measure 74" from spring center to spring center and 89" from hub face to hub face. While you were looking for 88" hub face to face, this 89" shouldn't cause any issue and is likely the correct size axle that you were needing since 89" is extremely common. Either way, the 1" difference will not be a problem. For a complete axle and electric brake setup with 5 on 4-1/2 bolt pattern...

You can do this by taking apart your current hub and looking at the bearing numbers, or by using Digital Caliper # 301-17068 and measure your spindle to the thousandths...
