Sharkskin Coating Provides Superior Corrosion Protection

The outer tubing of the Fulton XLT jack shows the rust-resistant Sharkskin coating

Sharks, one of the ocean's top predatos, have a super-resilient skin that algae and bacteria can't cling to. Fulton was so inspired by this, that they named the coating on this XLT jack after sharks. Only instead of barnacles, Fulton's goal was to keep rust and corrosion from taking hold.

Rust-resistant coatings - like Sharkskin - are graded according to a salt spray rating. Basically, this rating shows signs of corrosion when exposed to pure, continuous salt spray. Sure, the environment this test creates is much harsher than anything you'll ever experience in your journeys, but it provides a testament to how well this jack resists rust and corrosion.

With a 1,200-hour salt spray rating, Sharkskin is 12 times tougher than a standard zinc coating, and 4 times stronger than Dacromet (a coating you'll often find on marine-grade brakes). And that's just on the outside! The internal hardware has Fulton's 600-hour salt-spray-rated Z-Max zinc finish.

All in all, the Fulton XLT is one of the most corrosion-resistant boat trailer jacks you can get, second only to Fulton's rustproof F2 marine jack.

Latch Keeps Handle Safely Stowed While Traveling

It can be pretty frustrating to have your jack handle hanging down while you tow. Some folks like to use something like a bungee cord to fasten the handle to their trailer frame to keep it secured. But when you have a boat that's as classy as yours, you don't want some jerry-rigged contraption messing up the look of your trailer.

A close-up shot shows the handle latch on the Fulton XLT jack flipped down A close-up shot shows the handle latch on the Fulton XLT jack flipped up

This jack has a simple, convenient, and elegant solution for this annoying problem - a handle latch. Just flip it in place when you're ready to tow, and the handle won't budge.

Comfortable and Easy to Use

Rather than grabbing a raw steel J-bolt each time you swing your jack up or down, wouldn't you like something a little easier to grip and use? The folks at Fulton thought you might.

A close-up shot shows the T-shaped pull-pin on the Fulton XLT jack

That's why the XLT jack has a T-shaped pull-pin that you can actually get your fingers around. It still lets you swivel the jack up and down, but it just plain feels better to use.

A side view shot of the Fulton XLT jack shows the plastic pull-pin and rubber grip

And if you think that sounds nice, wait until you get ahold of the texturized, soft-touch grip on the sidewind handle. Not only is it really comfortable to use, but it's designed to keep you from losing your grip when cranking the jack in the rain or after you've drenched your hand in lake water. Other hard, plastic handles can't even begin to compare.

How to Determine the Lift Capacity You Need in a Jack

A trailer jack lifts your trailer high enough at the tongue to allow you to couple it with your vehicle. Usually, your tongue weight is about 10-15% of your gross trailer weight (GTW). For example, a 10,000-lb trailer has a tongue weight of 1,000 lbs to 1,500 lbs. To raise the tongue of a trailer this size, you'd need a jack that can handle a static load of no less than 1,500 lbs. And, yes, it's okay to have a jack with a weight rating that is higher than your trailer's tongue weight. In fact, a jack with a higher capacity should operate more efficiently, allowing you to spend less time cranking and more time fishing.

Very happy and you all are great!!
I
ordered the jack from a Amazon store and received a car trailer hitch for under a car. Re-ordered and a week later received a cheap trailer jack but not what I ordered and payed for. Had to send it back. Still waiting for refund. You all sent correct jack and it's perfect. Thank you so much. I will order from you all in the future

This is a HUGE improvement over the jack that came with my “custom” Xtreme trailer. I’ve used eTrailer for decades, and they are still the best by far. Website, ordering, selection, prices and customer service are the best of any online retailer. As long as I need what they offer, it’s the only place I’ll depend on.

by:

As mentioned before, Jack is quality, however it arrived, scratched up from poorly being packaged

by:

Every thing was good the jack would not fit my trailer I’ll have to order another one

by:

Fulton XLT jack is a great upgrade to my existing boat jack. Installed in less than a half hour. Fit existing bracket and reused mounting hardware. Customer service was helpful in selecting replacement jack. Only drawback was there were no mounting instructions in package to verify mounting but they were easy enough to find on Fulton's website.

Etrailer delivers once again. ALWAYS SPEEDY, ALWAYS ACCURATE.
Thanks team!

Does the job for my off-road camper trailer! I wanted to use the Ark off-road trailer jack, but the holes didn’t match up and trying to get that one on the frame wasn’t going to work because it would get in the way of the spare tire. The previous Fulton XLT got wrecked when I didn’t retract and swivel the jack wheel before driving off… whoops! So glad getting an exact replacement was easy with etrailer. I used a cinder kick and jack stands (from etrailer) to support the camper, then swapped out the back wheel with the new one. I won’t be forgetting to put the jack wheel back up anytime soon that I can promise!!

by:

I have used Fulton before so I knew how good their products are. What really impressed me was the excellent customer service. I have purchased from a lot of companies but never have I seen such detail by your company. They give you names of who took the order, who processed the order and who
packaged the order. I was very happy from start to finish. Thanks to your whole company! This is rare so keep doing the good work.

Still working great!

by:

arrived quickly and in perfect conditio n!

by:

Limited options for bolt thru weld on. It’s definitely bigger than I needed - could have got the next size down: good quality. My only grip is that the box it came in was beyond thrashed (ace Ventura style). And there was no but that came with it. I had to use the old one: and I wrote ahead to makes sure it came with a nut. Now it could have fallen out because there were legitimate holes in the box. And no instructional, which it is pretty self explanatory but I thought it was supposed to be torqued down to a certain pounds.

by:

Perfect fit. Just what I wanted and nee ded.

by:

I had a cheap bolt on jack that leaned over and was hard to roll on concrete. This one is way more solid. I like the large wheel it makes it much easier to move. Also there is less effort required to run this all the way up. Its a little pricey, but overall i'm happy with it.

by:

What an upgrade! Easy bolt on application. Perfect!

by:

Just what I needed and wanted

Not very well. The bolt pulled away from the plate and trailer fell to ground. It could not handle weight of tongue.Bought next size up with u bolts fastening to frame of boat trailer. Works great

by:

Unfortunately the molded plastic piece that is supposed to hold the handle did not work from the start to keep the crank handle up away from the ground. I tried bending it and it snapped off. I have to bungee it up now. Also the spring pin used when rotating the jack was much larger than my original equipment one requiring me to bore out the hole to 1/2 inch in the mount plate. Other than these issues the jack works nicely and lifts much easier than my previous 1000 pound lift model.

After one year I am currently waiting for a replacement pull pin as the plastic T handle has now broken. Both that and the piece to hold the handle up are on backorder. Other than that I love the effortless lifting ability of this jack. Too bad they couldn’t have made these 2 plastic parts out if something better. The cost to mail the whole jack back is a damper on the 5 year warranty, so here I wait for little parts for it instead.

It’s a good smooth easy to use trailer jack and the second one I’ve purchased. For the price, I just wish it was made here instead of China. Hate to bring politics into it but I’m old enough to have owned many thing’s made in the U.S.A. They were always made better and lasted longer. The Chinese are getting better and the prices are going up with it. Well quality cost but you can also price yourself out of the market. This is a much better unit than the ones I’ve purchased from [online] but those do work. The difference in how they get the job done is night and day. So is the price. I wanted better so I spent the money and I believe it was enough that Fulton could have made it here. Of course you do need to have people willing to get their hands dirty building something for reasonable pay as well a company willing to pay reasonably.
That’s another story in itself.
So good jack? Yes!
But like anything, if you want better it’s going to cost more regardless of where it is made.
I upgraded to make it easier for my daughter to hook up to the boat and drag it to the lake. Can’t say I mind having a better jack myself. Knocked a star off because it isn’t made here.

This was/is a replacement for the orginal trailer jack that came with the boat trailer now 17 yrs old, bought new. I had noticed that the original was showing its age and getting harder to operate. In doing some research I found the original may have been undersized and I was getting concerned. I ordered the Fulton XLT Bolt-Thru Swivel Trailer Jack - Weld On - Sidewind - 12" Lift - 1,500 lbs online and it was recv'd very quickly. Removal of the old and install of the new was easy and took less than 15 min. So far I am very pleased with the product and etrailer.com!

by:

This bolted right on my Four Winns H-180 trailer which already had a Fulton bracket welded to the frame of the trailer. This jack is significantly better than the one that came with the trailer.

by:

I ordered a couple of trailer jacks and I was amazed that they were delivered to my home in three days! Unfortunately, I pushed the wrong button and ordered the weld on type, rather than the bolt on type. However, I placed a call to the company and spoke with Cailee. She was exceptionally helpful and in a matter of minutes she reordered the trailer jacks that I meant to buy and sent me (via e-mail) a UPS shipping label. So, when UPS delivered the new order, they took the return package. Thank you Cailee!

by:

This is the best jack I have ever had on a trailer. With the old jack that I had on my boat trailer it was a real struggle moving it in a out of the garage but with this jack it is a breeze. Love this jack

by:

Very easy order placement. Item was on back order but etrailer kept me informed of the status so No problem. Unit arrived and I installed it in minutes. The Fulton 1500 trailer jack works and looks great

by:

Works smooth and effortlessly, plus it looks great on my bass boat trailer. Would have given 5 stars, but the clip that stows the handle is a little too short and lets the handle fall down while towing. Not a problem, but doesn't work as intended.

by:

It was strip bass season here in Massachusetts,,as the fish gods would have it, springs broke on trailer first time out.i was back in the fish in no time with parts ordered and delivered in a very timely manner.thank you

by:

Old Fulton jack broke, upgraded to this Fulton, spectacular!

Still spectacular!

by:

Was exactly as described. I needed the extra lift for my boat trailer so I didn't have to put blocks under the jack to rachel my hitch.
