A trailer jack is designed to lift the tongue of your trailer so you can connect the trailer coupler to your hitch ball. To do this, you'll need a jack with a lift capacity high enough to handle your trailer's tongue weight.
Tongue weight is the amount of weight that your trailer applies to the back of your tow vehicle. Typically, your tongue weight should be 10-15% of your total trailer weight (trailer + cargo). In other words, a 10,000-lb trailer would have a tongue weight between 1,000 lbs and 1,500 lbs. For a trailer this size, you would need a jack with a lift capacity of at least 1,500 lbs.
It's okay to have a jack with a weight rating that is higher than your trailer's tongue weight. In fact, a jack with a higher lift capacity should operate more efficiently, allowing you to spend less time cranking and more time camping.
Every jack offers a certain amount of lift or travel. Screw travel is the distance the jack extends when you crank it (or toggle it to "extend" on an electric model). Some jacks include a drop leg for extra adjustability. On these jacks, you'll see the maximum extension of the drop leg listed in the specs as well. Adding the screw travel and drop leg travel together will give you the total lift. The total lift listed above can help you determine how high this jack will be able to raise your trailer.

Comes with footplate.My 1 star review comes not from actual product use, but because when I first received the trailer jack I was missing the bracket that connects to the tongue of the trailer. When I contacted etrailer they were very helpful, and allowed me to pay for expedited shipping so I could hopefully be able to use my new jack in the trip I bought it for. I receive the reship in time, but they sent me the bracket clamps instead of the bracket. I call customer service, they apologize and refund me for the expedited shipping, and since there is no part number we both pull up the manual and I describe the part I need and it’s name, she describes it back to me we seem to both understand what part I am still missing. I return from my trip only to find that they have sent me a second pair of bracket clamps, but still not the bracket that I need. So I send them an email including pictures from the manual of the parts I need and they tell me they will send the bracket not the bracket clamps. I received the second reship today…lo and behold I receive a 5th bracket clamp and still no bracket. Hopefully third reship is a charm.

I really liked the drill feature that allows you to raise/lower the jack with a drill, fast!
The only suggestion I would have for the mfr of the product would be to size and machine the shank of the socket that raises and lowers the jack to work with either a drill or a driver.  Otherwise it’s a great product and I’d buy again and I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a well built trailer jack.

Very well product. Convenient to lower and lift the jack with the drill attachment. Only issue I had was the mounting the mounting bracket wasn’t long enough for the screws to catch but I made do with some other brackets I had.

This jack comes with hardware that will fit with a frame up to 4.75 inches x 3.75 inches. And it does require 8 inches of clearance.
I am 75 and pulling a 20' bay boat. I was having trouble cranking the stock jack. Bought this and it is outstanding. Works like a charm. Couple of tips. Keep your drill in your vehicle and the crank in your boat. Drill will kick back if you try to go to0 fast. Slow and steady gets it done. Great product. Thanks George for your recommendation on this.

After owning this trailer jack for one year, I can say it’s the best trailer jack I have ever owned. I put this trailer jack on a 26 foot Aluma flatbed trailer. I purchased an extension because it’s a very high trailer. This trailer jack is extremely easy to use. I can leave my equipment on the trailer and jacket off the truck with ease. The added convenience of using my Dewalt driver to raise and lower the jack is awesome although I don’t use it often. Well I miss placed it. Dang it. Oh well, it’s awesome though the whole thing all around with or without that it’s amazing piece of hardware that makes every day use safe and simple. Thank you each trailer. I haven’t seen this anywhere else even a large trailer manufacturer that is down the road for me saw it and thought wow that’s really cool. Because it is awesome! These are the pictures I could come up with.
Easy install, looks way better than stock ones and allow me to remove the A Frame jack that was an issue with the tailgate of my truck.
My second JXS Trailer Valet. Sturdy, simple to install, easy to adjust, excellent design. Great product!
Overall it's great, but the rust is showing faster than i would have expcected. The mounting bolts are rusting already and the grease zirk is rusting. For a device that is made to be outside it should have a bit more rust preventative parts to it.
Trailer Valet JXS Trailer Jack is powerful and smooth operating. It looks great also with the textured finish. The bolt on design means quick installation with no welding. The folding stowaway system will prevent dragging the base in the dirt like vertical welded tongue jacks can. I love the electrical drill operation capability! I would not hesitate to buy this jack again!
Heavy unit is well built and cranks very smoothly and easily. Good extended length. Secure foot plate but I may add a wheel at some point. Mounting hardware is very robust and surface treatment appears excellent. Overall well worth the money.
Excellent fit and finish. Bolted right on to my trailer frame. Raises my trailer high enough that I can quit using a block of wood. With the ability to spin the jack out of the way I can quit about worrying about hitting the tailgate on the jack.
So far so good. Just installed. Installation was simple. Greased it per the videos. No instruction as to when to grease or how often.

Very easy to install and use. Only complaint is the drill piece is too big for my impact driver, but my drill will suffice.
Stopped working after 1 year. Replaced it with a Fulton power jack.

Both Jacks after one year are going strong. Being able to remove the jack from the side mount makes sharp turns easy wo worry of jambing into rear bumper. Also, I now have clearance to the tailgate.
Its good missing a bolt but nice looking jack

Easy to install and jack operates smoothly and quickly with the socket and cordless drill. The hand crank also works well with little effort to raise or lower the trailer. I needed to longer bolts (4-1/2") to complete install on my trailer frame.

Love this trailer jack. First time I used it, I knew it was great quality! The attachment for a 20 amp drill make hooking up a snap! I’d highly recommend this product to anyone in need of a great trailer jack!!

Nice product. Would be nice if the mounting bolts were galvanized. Using less drill torque would be beneficial, but would probably increase the cost/price.
