  I attached a picture of the instructions for welding on the etrailer jack part # TJD-7000 that you referenced. The instructions say to put the jack in the proper location for your trailer application, then weld on both sides of the jack length using a 3/16 inch fillet weld.

• Is Replacement Internal Screw Available for Ram 7K Weld-On trailer Jack
  I spoke with my contact at Ram and they said that the internal screw for the 7K jacks are not something they carry replacements of so you will need to replace the whole jack. Even if this wasn't the case it would be a good idea to replace the entire unit anyways so that you can be confident all of the internal components are working properly.   The outer tube width of this jack is 2-1/2 inches by 2-1/2 inches but we do have the Pro Series jack part # PS1400800383 which has an outer tube diameter that is 2-1/4 inch by 2-1/4 inch and when fully retracted measures 23 inches which would be very similar to what you have. • Availability of Trailer Jack to Replace Shelby 6108
  We used to offer the Shelby jack 6108 and it had a capacity of 8,000 lbs and a top wind handle. Probably the closest we have now is the part # TJD-7000 which has a 7k capacity which SHOULD work well depending on the actual capacity needed for your application.
