Worked really well, definitely smoothed out the ride. We are finding significantly less chaos with the equipment in the trailer.

The only complaint I would have is trying to use the Sumo Spring for very small enclosed trailers. The STEEL MOUNT was too tall, to meet the relaxed position height, so we cut 1" out of the mount and re-welded together, and repainted. But other than the additional modification it worked great.

Overall its a good product! There is certainly only so much you can do with a single axle trailer, its going to be a rough ride. But the Sumo Springs definitely smooth it out. We have had significantly less damaged items in the trailer after installing them.

My order arrived quickly and correct. I appreciate the tracking emailed to me. The helpers went on easily and just like the video. My only modification was to remove the band on the rear spring. (A five minute task) The RV sits about 1 1/2 inches taller. I prefer this to flipping the axle in order to maintain a low center of gravity. In the picture, the springs actually are vertical when the RV is put back on the ground.

One year later, no problems. Everything has worked well. The RV is more stable on the road. Great product, I would buy again without hesitation.

I installed these on my 2022 Forest River Wolf Pup 16FQ Black Label camper. These springs tremendously reduce swaying and augments the leaf springs to make the camper pull much more smoothly.. Highly recommended!

by:

They were easy to install and did everything they advertised. They smoothed out the ride, stabilized the load on the trailer even when the weight was off center. Well worth the money

by:

I just installed the SumoSprings on a KZ Sportsmen Classic 160QB and it makes a big difference in stability. I also ordered Part number TSS-CTP (contact plate) from SumoSprings since the travel trailer frame is slightly offset and the Sumospring makes only 60% contact. Always great service and useful info from etrailer.

by:

Easy install on my 2012 Wolf Pup Travel Trailer. I am yet to take it out but the squeak from the leaf springs is gone and it feels much more stable walking around inside. I can’t wait to get it in the road! I gained about 1.5 inches of wheel well space to fender as noted by some other reviewers but my camper is near empty so loaded it will be perfect and I don’t mind having a bit more clearance as I have a low trailer to begin with. No spacers we’re needed for my camper. I would say also I have about .75-1 inch preload vs instructions which say recommended range is 1/4-.5 inches… again I felt OK installing and have used sumo springs in the past with good results.

by:

A breeze to install, excellent product.Significanly reduced bounce inside the trailer while in tow running.

by:

The Sumo springs for our dual axle 25' camper made it more stable esp on windy days and on bad roads. The stuff didn't get thrown from the cabinets.
Installation was easy after taking off the wheels.

by:

Well-manufactured and designed product. I'm 74 and it took me about two hours to install on my travel trailer, but there were no problems and it seemed to fit perfectly and do the job I wanted it to do, which was support the leaf springs. Shipping was fast and free, and the follow-up is clear and honest. Great job, etrailer!!

by:

Great product, using on a single axle camper with a gross of about 4,800. Had an OEM spring snap before so wanted to ensure the new springs had some assistance for future wear prevention. Trailer is more sturdy to tow for sure. Not a world of difference, but definitely noticeable. Mostly on turns and when larger trucks pass, I can feel the camper shift and sway less, a very welcome feeling. Also, feels slightly sturdy when in trailer. Lastly, it sits a hair higher when fully loaded. Overall, a product I am very pleased with. Price seems a little high for the product you receive (material wise). But, it is a low cost investment for the future.

by:

Easy to install. Fit perfect. Waiting to see how they perform.

by:

Easy install and they significantly reduces the side to side roll on my small RV.

by:

Worked beautifully on homemade trailer with axle/leaf springs from old Rambler station wagon that easily bottomed out. Needed to do a wacky installation with added spacer, so probably invalidated warranty, but still works like a charm.

by:

My SumoSprings definitely help with trailer sway on windy days. They were not hard for me to install with standard tools.

by:

Great price, great service, and lightning quick shipping that arrived sooner than expected. Thanks etrailer!

by:

These were a great addition to my creaky dual-axle boat trailer. The banging and clanging on bumps is gone, and swaying on bumps/corners is reduced as well. An excellent investment!

by:

Perfect fit for trailer with axle over leaf springs

by:

Got the wrong product, BUT I called and explained to Jeoff. I didn’t know if I explained it the right or the person didn’t hear me correctly? It really doesn’t matter, I just needed the right part. They are sending me a return label. Then I ordered the correct part. I’ve ordered from eTrailer before and been very happy. I very happy today, all is well

by:

Got it and installed last week. Works for the trailer and I am happy with result

httpsThank you Etrailer.

by:

the mounting bracket should be shorter

by:

Already installed on my Toy Hauler trailer! Super happy with them! Thank you!

by:

I can't say as yet how they will perform as I haven't got them installed. I just received the springs today

  • Will SumoSprings Trailer Helper Springs # TSS-106-40 Work Well on Trailer with 2,990 GVWR
The SumoSprings Trailer Helper Springs # TSS-106-40 were intended for use on trailers with weight capacities between 3k and 5k. You are REALLY close to the range of this kit so it would work great still for you since you are 10 lbs under the ideal range.

  • Where To Install SumoSprings Trailer Helper Springs TSS-106-40 On Trailer With Tandem 3500lbs Axles
You got it! When installing the SumoSprings Trailer Helper Springs # TSS-106-40 on your trailer with tandem 3500lb axles the helper spring will get installed in the front part of the rear axle closer to the equalizer, and on the rear part of the front axle also closer to the equalizer. Keep in mind this kit only includes enough helper springs for a single axle so since you have tandem axles you will need two kits. I included a video review of the # TSS-106-40 for you to take a look at.

  • Can Trailer SumoSprings Kit # TSS-106-40 Fit Distance of 7-3/4 inch From Spring to Trailer Frame
The SumoSprings kit # TSS-106-40 does for sure fit your application based on the dimension you just mentioned of 7-3/4 inches from the spring plate to the bottom of the trailer frame. This kit works with dimensions here that range from 6 to 8-5/8 inches so no further measurements or dimensions would be needed to know this for sure fits.

  • SuperSprings SumoSprings For a Coachmen Apex Nano 193BHS With Single Underslung 4,400LB Axle
The TSS-105-40 is no longer available from SuperSprings. You are going to need their current SumoSprings Trailer Helper Springs # TSS-106-40 for your Coachmen Apex Nano 193BHS. This kit is designed for underslung axles with a capacity between 3,000lbs and 5,000lbs.

  • Should SumoSprings for Trailer Axle Install in Front or Behind Axle
The instructions for the SumoSprings kit part # TSS-106-40 do not specify whether they should install in front of or behind the rear axle but I would recommend in front of the axle since most shock is going to be first on the front portion of the axle and since there would be less horizontal movement when suspension compresses since it's on side without the shackle.

  • Can SumoSprings Trailer Helper Spring Kit Fit with 3 inches from Axle to Frame
The height of the SumoSprings Trailer Helper Springs w/ Line Relocation Bracket # TSS-106-40 is 4 inches for just the rubber spring portion of it. Since you have 3 inches from the axle to the frame that would indicate that there would be a compression of about 1 inch. This is pretty common when people install this and many like that it adds a little bit of trailer height from additional support.

  • Recommended SumoSpring To Supplement The Suspension On A Boat Trailer
The SumoSprings Trailer Helper Springs # TSS-106-40 will definitely help take some of the strain off your suspension system. These are starting to get a lot more popular as they are usually less expensive and require a lot less work to get installed than a shock type system. As an added bonus, these can also help prevent body roll and assist with sway issues, so they are highly recommended. Being American made is just one more plus with SumoSprings in a pretty long list of positives in...

You want between 1/4" and 1/2" of preload on the SumoSprings Trailer Helper Springs item # TSS-106-40. If not you'll get a harsher ride quality because the springs will always been engaged or you'll get nothing out of them because the suspension will have to travel too far. • Determining If SumoSprings Trailer Helper Springs Fit 2021 Coachmen 192RBS with Tandem Axles
As long as the leaf springs on your 2021 Coachmen 192RBS are underneath the axle and not on top, then the SumoSprings Trailer Helper Springs # TSS-106-40 you were looking at will fit perfectly. The springs themselves measure right at 4" so you will have a little bit of a gap but that is alright, they will still work as designed to absorb road shock while also taking some of the load off your suspension prolonging its useable life. • How to Determine What SumoSprings Leaf Spring Enhancement Will Work
In order to determine the correct SumoSprings Leaf Spring Enhancement System for your trailer, you need to need the weight capacity of the axles and if you have an overslung or underslung axle (which I'll explain). Based on your 2017 Montana's weight, both available kits have the right capacity, so all you need to do is find out if your Montanta has an overslung (springs sit over axle) or underslung axle (springs sit under axle). All this means is the position of the leaf springs relative...

  • Recommended SumoSprings Trailer Helper Springs For Trailer With 3500lb Tandem Axles
Since your trailer has tandem 3500lb axles the correct SumoSprings Trailer Helper Springs is the # TSS-106-40 if your leaf springs are underneath the axles, or the # TSS-107-40 if your leaf springs are on top of the axles. Both of these kits are designed for axles rated from 3000-5000lbs which is perfect for your trailer, and will fight trailer sway and body roll while also providing support to your suspension to increase its working life. The images I can find for a 2022 Forest River Salem FSX 177BH show that it has an Underslung axle and would require a SumoSprings Trailer Helper Springs w/ Line Relocation Bracket # TSS-106-40. • Is the SumoSprings Trailer Helper Springs Weight Capacity for the Axle or the Trailer
The SumoSprings go by the axle rating, not by the trailer weight. Since you have tandem 3,500 axles you want the 3k to 5k SumoSprings, and you will need two kits. For an overslung axle you need the # TSS-107-40 and for an underslung axle the correct part is # TSS-106-40.

  • How to Determine SumoSprings For Jayco Travel Trailer
It looks like your trailer has a GVWR of just under 5,000 lbs, which narrows down the choices, so to determine the correct SumoSprings you just need to know if your axle sits above the leaf springs or below the leaf springs, as well as the clearance between the top of the spring plate and bottom of trailer frame. - Axle Below Leaf Springs: SumoSprings Trailer Helper Springs # TSS-107-40 (Clearance between top of spring plate and bottom of trailer frame must be between 5-5/16" and 6-1/2") -...

The difference between the SumoSprings Trailer Helper Springs w/ Line Relocation Bracket # TSS-106-40 and # TSS-107-40 is the orientation of the axle to the leaf springs. So since you have an underslung kit the correct part number you need is the # TSS-106-40. The main difference is the height of the spacer that fits below the jounce (blue) spring. The relocation bracket that comes with these kits is so that you can slightly move a gas or utility line that mounts to the lower portion of...

  • SumoSprings Trailer Helper Springs Recommendation for OverSlung Trailer Axle
Drop axles don't drop the distance between the trailer frame and axle as basically the drop is after the suspension and between the spindle. So the SumoSprings Trailer Helper Springs w/ Line Relocation Bracket # TSS-106-40 would install just fine on a drop axle. But sounds like you have an overslung axle based on the distance between your leaf spring and trailer frame. So for that you'd instead want the part # TSS-107-40.
