SP-05127513"14"26"4-1/4"

Note: To ensure proper axle alignment and suspension performance, leaf springs should always be replaced in pairs.

Leaf springs are an integral part of your trailer suspension system. The leaf springs provide the attachment points for your trailer's axle, suspending it from the frame of your trailer. Each spring flexes to absorb road shock as you travel, allowing the axle to move somewhat independently of the rest of your trailer. This helps to reduce wear and tear on the trailer and also ensures a smooth ride.

Double-eye leaf springs attach to hangers that are welded onto your trailer. One end of this spring will attach directly to the hanger with a suspension bolt. The other end will attach to shackle straps that are suspended from a hanger. These straps allow the spring to move and pivot so that it can better compensate for uneven pavement. If you have a tandem- or triple-axle trailer, the shackle straps will be attached to the equalizer that connects multiple springs.

To mount this spring, you will need hangers, shackle straps, and suspension bolts. If you are simply replacing a spring, you may still have hangers welded onto your trailer. You should, however, replace your shackle straps because they are usually the first component to wear out. You may choose to replace old suspension bolts as well. It is recommended that you replace the other leaf spring in your setup at the same time. Because springs can sag and elongate as they wear, this new spring may not exactly match the old one, and the alignment of your trailer could be affected.

If you are fabricating a trailer, you will need to purchase a hanger kit for installation. To determine the type of hanger kit that you need, you must know the specific type of leaf spring that you have, as well as your axle capacity. Depending on the hanger kits used with them, springs can be configured to work for single-, tandem- or triple-axle applications. Hangers and other suspension components can also be purchased separately if there isn't a complete kit that works for your setup.

I had a broken spring on the road and had it replaced. I considered replacing only the other three. I decided to do all four to keep everything the same. I'm glad I did. I replaced the plastic bushings with the bronze ones and grease-able bolts that came with the pivot kit I bought. There were only pieces of the original bushes left in the old springs. I had not realized how over the years my trailer had sagged. Now it's like new again. NOTE** Make sure to press the bushings in, a bench vice works fine, and do not use a hammer. They are bronze, not steel, and can be ruined. ( Just some sound advice from a 68 year old professional).

Using etrailer.com has been a great experience. They have a huge selection of trailer parts and make it very easy to find the right parts. The packaging seems to have gotten alot better. Very sturdy box. It arrived within a few days from ordering which was a huge plus. I was able to get the job done sooner than planned. That kind of experience will keep me loyal to etrailer for any future trailer parts needs. Thanks guys and gals. Keep up the great work. As far as the parts, eveything was heavier duty than factory. Since I measured the old parts I was able to find the exact replacements for those parts. The job went so smoothly without any issues. These springs raised the trailer height without any load on the axles 1.5 inches. It was definitely time for new springs and hardware. Im kind of glad the one spring broke.

I called customer service and worked with William B. He was patient and listened while i described problem and sent pictures to him for review and advice. He took time to search forums and find out specifications of the boat trailer which happened to be quite old. Helped solve a challenging problem and called me back quickly when had some questions about my order. he also sent me an email about the status of the order and let me know when it shipped. I was very impressed with the customer service. I ordered several size options and etrailer was great to work with. The trailer was for a boat MasterCraft Prostar 205 from '90s and wasn't able to measure the springs correctly because it was 3 hours drive away. Thanks for great service.

I replaced 3500lb axle springs with these 4000lb axle springs. Super easy. Good fits all the way around. Also suspension upgrade from Moryde, new Goodyear endurance on steel. Correct parts every time, faster delivery than anywhere. Too easy. Dont waste your time going anywhere else.

They do exactly what they are supposed to do....what more needs to be said? I bought these because the old springs on my travel trailer had flattened out to the point that my tires would hit the trailer body in the top of the wheel well when flexing, such as when pulling into driveways. The new springs gave me the clearance to eliminate that problem, and are a little heavier duty than the old ones as well. Installation was very straightforward, and not too difficult for this 70-year-old guy, requiring just basic hand tools.

A good price and perfect replacement for my 2015 Puma Toyhauler. I would suggest upgrading the shackle hardware though. Everything on my camper's suspension is heavily worn and not the highest of quality. And if you're going to replace one, replace them all....

The boat trailer leaf springs arrived earlier than expected and they fit perfectly. Etrailer was the only place that had this spring in stock. I tried 3 springs locally that didn’t fit. After a lot of hard work I ordered the correct size and got them on. After four springs, on and off, I’m a pro now!!! Thanhs so much for having the correct size and being very nice when I called to verify the size! Pull trailer after the installation, and I couldn’t be happier!

Very nice quality heavy duty springs. They’re on a custom built trailer, so I was relying on the accuracy of the published specs to select a replacement set of springs. The spec data was right on as these bolted up directly with no issue.

These springs are much stronger than what I first ordered, thank you for sending my return tag, I measured wrong the first time. These springs with an inch shorter in length & an inch more arch work perfect & give the tires more room. Thanks again for the great service from all of your operators. I must say, even with shipping the experience & service was well worth it.

1-year review: Perfect fit. I thought the eye bushings looked a little chincy but they have held up well. The spring rate is perfect. Still at the exact sag as the day I put them on. The finish was fair to good but better than what I paid for. Im happy with how well they fit and have performed. I would buy again.

  • Replacement 26-1/8 Inch Double-Eye Leaf Springs for 3,000 Pound Boat Trailer
The closest option we have available to the measurements and specs you provided is with the Universal Group 4-Leaf # SP-051275. This particular unit measures 26 inches long from eye to eye (your existing spring would have stretched a bit over time), 1-3/4 inches wide, and has a bow of 4-1/4 inches. I have attached a diagram as well. Also keep in mind that when you measure your existing leaf springs you want to make sure the trailer is lifted or the springs are removed, as a loaded trailer...

For the capacities of the 2001 Coachman tandem that you have and the unloaded length of the springs you mentioned the # SP-051275 would be your best choice. This is for a 4,000 lb axle which is most likely a little higher rated than what you have as I suspect you have 3,500 lb axles and it also matches the length of your old springs well so it would be the easiest and best choice! The best way to measure you springs is with them removed from the trailer. And it's likely they've flattened over time and weren't originally 26 inches. Installing slightly over-rated leaf springs on a trailer shouldn't cause any damage to the axle or other suspension components. There is no reason to replace the axle on your trailer with a higher-rated unit so that it matches the springs. Over-rated leaf springs may cause a bit of a rougher ride but I suspect that the "springy" experience you described has more to do with the noticeable difference between old worn-out springs and brand new ones that are in good condition.
