Leaf springs are an integral part of your trailer suspension system. The leaf springs provide the attachment points for your trailer's axle, suspending it from the frame of your trailer. Each spring flexes to absorb road shock as you travel, allowing the axle to move somewhat independently of the rest of your trailer. This helps to reduce wear and tear on the trailer and also ensures a smooth ride.
Double-eye leaf springs attach to hangers that are welded onto your trailer. One end of this spring will attach directly to the hanger with a suspension bolt. The other end will attach to shackle straps that are suspended from a hanger. These straps allow the spring to move and pivot so that it can better compensate for uneven pavement. If you have a tandem- or triple-axle trailer, the shackle straps will be attached to the equalizer that connects multiple springs.
To mount this spring, you will need hangers, shackle straps, and suspension bolts. If you are simply replacing a spring, you may still have hangers welded onto your trailer. You should, however, replace your shackle straps because they are usually the first component to wear out. You may choose to replace old suspension bolts as well. It is recommended that you replace the other leaf spring in your setup at the same time. Because springs can sag and elongate as they wear, this new spring may not exactly match the old one, and the alignment of your trailer could be affected.
If you are fabricating a trailer, you will need to purchase a hanger kit for installation. To determine the type of hanger kit that you need, you must know the specific type of leaf spring that you have, as well as your axle capacity. Depending on the hanger kits used with them, springs can be configured to work for single-, tandem- or triple-axle applications. Hangers and other suspension components can also be purchased separately if there isn't a complete kit that works for your setup.

Includes bushings with 9/16" inner diameter.I inherited an aluminum trailer that ended up needing a complete overhaul and etrailer was the best resource I could have found. After researching extensively to find out what I needed and watching their videos on how to do it I ended up ordering an EZ-lube axle, galvanized hubs, springs and a hanger kit (in other words everything from the frame down).
Everything shipped quickly and arrived in great shape. All the parts worked perfectly and I couldn't be happier!
I added these springs to a utility trailer that I converted to a dirt bike trailer. The old springs were way to stiff and caused the trailer to bounce all over the place.
Adding springs that better matched the load has made the trailer pull 100% better over bumpy roads. Springs work perfect.
Everything was excellent as usual. Our 8th trailer rebuilt your kits. I went from single to tandem axle.
The leaf springs were perfect and an easy fit to replace both sides. The shackles however had extremely sharp edges that cut me getting them out of the envelope. I could have taken my grinder to them but the original shackles were not worn or rusted so I re-used them instead.
Worked fine but I bought these for my offroad camper that weighs about 1500lbs fully loaded and it bottomed them out so I had to order 4000lb ones instead
One of the bushings was damaged. I need to return this item.

I purchased this set of leaf springs along with a kit to put axle under the leaf springs. I ordered the parts on Monday night around 7:50 pm. Found out I had made a mistake in what I had ordered and called the help line. Stacy got my order changed to the correct parts and I had the order the very next day by 3:00 pm. This is AMAZING to me! Put on the parts Tuesday night without an issue. The old springs were wore out and very bouncy. The new ones are very firm. The conversion went just a painless. After it's all said and done, my utility trailer, which is a converted pop-up camper was raised about 5" or more. No more having to worry about the tires hitting the frame anymore.
Leaf springs cam very fast. the product looks great. Looks like the will be a prefect fit for my EZ Loader boat trailer. Its nice they come with bushings installed all ready.

louis n - 09/01/2017Product is exactly as described. I would recommend putting in bold letters the fact this axle does NOT include springs nor spring shackles. Had I read the fine print way down in the description I would have seen that earlier and ordered those at the same time thus saving me shipping when I ordered them later.

Very good value. Broke Springs on a small center console tender trailer, thought OH boy how am I gonna find parts for this. Searched on-line. Found etrailer and BAM = problem solved. Got springs, shackles, bolts, even an entire spare and tire for a couple hundred bucks and THEY ALL FIT and at least as good quality as the thing was build with. Excellent and pretty quick shipping and delivery for heavy stuff.
1000 lb each (2000 lb total) springs were purchased to replace original springs on boat trailer. Original springs were for heavy pleasure boat and were far too stiff to provide smooth ride for our lightweight racing boat. These springs bolted right in and really improved the ride of the trailer at a very reasonable cost. Shipping was very quick too. If you are replacing springs, go ahead and purchase all mounting hardware. Chances are the original hardware cannot be reused.
all looks good , the springs seem to be the correct size , the wheel cover sizing is true and they are there are thicker / stronger than expected with good strength to the elastic . the alignment balls help when i am alone ,which is most of the time and the added light option for same price as your competion is great. also like the price of the hitch which i have yet to install but i can say an improvement over my existing one with a bolt hole for keeping it latched closed and a good size lever to grab hold of. Over all the order was correct, shipped in a timely manner and the prices are good what more could one ask for. PS. after seeing the wheel covers I am going to order 4 more for storing my truck and thanks for helping me get my trailer in tip top shape Vito
Installed on Brother's utility trailer that had the original mobile home trailer axles and very stiff single leaf spring. Now the trailer doesn't try to pass him when the road is rough. I installed the same springs on my own trailer (same axle) a few years back and recommended these to my Brother. Perfect fit and weight capacity. Thanks

Knowledge of item ordering. Quick arrival. Item ordered was a pair of leaf springs for a snowmobile trailer.
Replaced sagging springs on Shasta Compact. Easy installation however these new springs are 1/4 inch thinner than original. Because of this the old u-bolts should be replaced as well. I used 1/4 inch spacers on top of the spring plate because the threads on the u-bolts were rusted and the nuts would not tighten down. Trailer is now level again.
I use the trailer every day almost since the replacement and have not had one issue. Returned to etrailer to purchase my complete hitch assembly when i replace one of the work trucks. Save hundreds in total and I use to own an Auto Shop so I know what even my old suppliers charged.
