Video Transcript for Optronics Trailer Lights - Tail Lights - STL003RFLB Review
Today we're going to be taking a look at part number STL003RFLB. This is the Optronics round LED trailer light. It's going to feature one LED. It's going to serve as your brake light, turn signal and taillight. It's going to feature a sealed waterproof housing, as well as a lens unit. Here on the back side, you're going to notice that it has the connection point for a three wire pigtail.
These tabs that come off of here are actually locking tabs, so once that connection is in there, that bracket or that housing on the back of the plug is going to lock in these brackets and that's just a safety feature, as well as a feature that's designed to prevent theft. It's going to clip on either side of the plug for a nice, tight, secure fit. This uses surface mount technology, which is designed to protect the LED from shock and vibration. The diode is actually mounted directly onto a circuit board instead of through a hole. It's going to feature a long lasting LED. It's going to be a great replacement for an incandescent light.
LED's are going to last 50 times longer, you don't have to worry about replacing bulbs. You don't have to worry about brittle filaments and LED's are going to be more efficient, so they're going to provide brighter light with less power output. It's going to feature a sturdy poly-carbonate lens, as well as a housing. This is Department of Transportation compliant, so it meets FMVSS 108 requirements and CMVSS requirements for automotive lighting. We'll take a look at the overall dimensions real quick. It's going to give us an overall diameter of 5 1/2 inches.
Now the actual light itself, or that lens, looks like it's going to be about 4 1/4 of an inch. The depth of this unit is going to be about 2 inches. You can see here that this is going to be a flange mount design, so it has that flange that goes around the housing. That's going to have three mount holes. If we take a measurement, the distance that we have center on center between each hole. That's going to measure 4 1/4 of an inch, and that measurement is going to be the same no matter how you measure, center on center between all the different holes.
So you have three different holes, center on center 4 1/4 is going to be the separation. Optronics is going to put a lifetime warranty on the LED. Again, you have the three prong connection here at the back. A couple different options that you have, it does not include the plug that you need, so you can find that here at etrailer.com. It is going to be sold separately, part number A45PB is going to be the one I'm using for our demonstration today, or you can get a right angled plug, with part number A47PB. I'm going to go and hook this up to our external power source, that way you can see what it's going to look like with power running to it. Simply just take our plug, run it through the guides there, that is locking tabs, straight into the connections. It's going to snap into place. You can see there that once that is fully connected, creates a nice tight seal around those connection points, so nothing is going to get in there and do any damage. This is going to be the taillight function. Again, this is just one LED. When we apply our brakes, you can see how that brightens up for a brighter signal output. It's also going to do that when we activate our turn signal. That's going to do it for today's review of part number STL003RFLB, this is the Optronics round LED trailer light. .

Used these lights to upgrade to LED on my triple Axel equipment trailer. Lights are nice and bright. Would have given 5 stars except that since I have ordered these lights I have been bombarded with trailer light advertisements that just won't quit.

Great value. Perfect size. Easy to install. Dimensions were spot on.
Installed on the back of an old Jeep.
Only complaint is that the retention clips on the back are a little fragile, at least in the cold. A few snapped off but the plugs seem to hold well regardless.

Bought to replace existing weathered lights in a heavy trailer. Looked the same as depicted but my frame around lens was metal ,not plastic like the ones I received. I will use them, exact fit, but I doubt they will take the abuse the original did over the years

These lights came OEM on my 2020 LoadRite 5 Starr trailer. The passenger side stop/turn went bad after 1 submersion. I replaced it. The drivers side stop/turn went bad after 3 submersions. I replaced it. The replacement passenger side stop/turn went bad after 2 submersions. In total, the trailer has been submerged 6 times and I've been through 4 of these lights including the originals. Stay far away from these lights.
And for those who might think I'm misdiagnosing the issue, the lights were tested by direct connection to a 12 volt power supply after working my way down the whole wiring harness.

Product and service brilliant.
One the big things in service have been sorted, eg. good product, value for money (not cheapest) delivered in good condition in a predicted timeframe, it's the little things like an email with tracking url that has ALL the information you need... WITHOUT HAVE TO TYPE IN A TRACKING NUMBER , NAME, ZIP ETC. And same with review, click on a url in an email and enter your comments with pictures .....SIMPLE. so many other companies just make these types of things too complicated and onerous for the customer to provide feedback. Also each person in the process is named! Brilliant, personal and just nice. I wish you guys were responsible for all of my transactions for all the things I buy online. The tail light I ordered was a drop in replacement for my 16’ tracker boat trailer. Installing the new tail light assembly required cutting the pigtail connector from the old tail light assembly and soldering 2 wires.
Item was packaged well and my shipment arrived quickly. Tail light assembly appears to be of high quality construction.

These are a bolt-on replacement for the stock lights on my Lowes 5x8 trailer. I got two of the "passenger" lights, because I moved the license plate to the back ramp/gate, and I got a separate license plate light for that. These lights work very well - I used heat shrink tubes with a low temp solder ring in them, to splice the connections to the stock wiring.

I ordered both the RVSTLB0060 and the RVSTLB0061. My only disappointment with the RVSTLB0061 was the LED module was not attached to the frame like the RVSTLB0060. Luckily, I had two small sheet metal screws I could use to secure the LED to the frame mount.
My installation was on a 2016 Rockwood A212HW. The OEM lights were the Optronics incandescent version. RVSTLB0060/61 are direct replacements except for the odd (offset) drill pattern used during factory assembly (they did not use all the Optronic predrilled holes). OEM mounting screws were reused but I added a bead of glue to the threads to help secure over time. Note the factory uses a good bit of RTV silicon on the top portion of the light frame to help hold in place and fit the slight curve of the body.

Well it is red, an LED tail light, and it works just fine. What else could someone want? A very fine price, and it was. So if you need to rewire your hauling, auto, or other trailer, I recommend this product. etrailer also has kits to do the whole trailer.
