Exact replacement for my broken tail light. Works great!

this light will work great for my trailer, good price point for a led light

This LED trailer light has performed flawlessly over the year its been installed. The LED'S are bright day or night, and the lense has held up well in the SW desert environment its exposed to. Highly recommended.

This is a replacement Tail light I need, It great I had order Lights from etrailers before. This is the only place I can order just one that all I needed. Thank you so much.

I purchase to as a replacement for the I damage, its bright and quite visible, outstanding, Like I said before etrailers is the only place where you do not have to order two, you can order one or two. Thank you so much.

This is the second pair that I have purchased for a PWC and dirt bike trailer. They are excellent. One of the lenses in the first pair was defective. I called Optronics and they immediately shipped me another. Excellent Tech Support. The lights are very bright and so easy to install. Be sure and secure the ground wire to the trailer frame against raw metal (un-painted and freshly ground), or the lights will not perform properly. Also, the washer provided goes on the fixture side of the trailer mount. Locking nuts secure the light on the opposite side with no washer.

I have since bought two more for my dirt bike trailer. These taillights are exceptional. They are very well made, easy to install and provide BRIGHT red light. I did have to return one of the lights which was defectivenew. You replaced it right away and I have had no further issues. I would highly recommend. Wish you had lights for my Toy FJ40LandCruiser.....

My Phone call to etrailer answered all my questions on these lights before I placed my order. shipping was right on time.(5days)

This light is a great up grade to the stocks lights that came with my new "Trailer in a Bag". I am looking forward to these LED's working well with all the bouncing road punishment a small trailer has.
I will report again once I have put on 500 trailer miles

Easy install and a nice upgrade from st ock

A great replacement light for standard incandescent tail lights at a reasonable price and these are so much brighter than stock. Installation was a no brainer and took less than a half hour as the bolt pattern is standard and the wires are as well.
Customer service is what sets this retailer apart from the rest!

After a year and 5000 mi. I had forgotten about these lights. Thats what a good light should be, something you never have to worry about. These lights are just that!

Installed Easy

Fast service

Easy to install and works great!

Sending you a pic of my lights I got from you and the hitch with the full wiring system. All works great. Thank you so much. Now it's time to go riding!!

Best replacement light I've found so far. Set out in the weather 24/7. Easy to install, fit brackets with no modifications.

Perfect replacement for a broken light on my utility trailer.

Still working great after one year on my off-road trailer.

These led's are better than several others I have tried, which all failed in a matter of weeks when exposed to saltwater. It has been about a year and all 20 of the main LED's (10 each light) are still working. However, the side marker lights both failed within a month or two. The lights should probably get 3 stars since the side marker lights failed quickly. Considering that 2 other sets (different brands) began failing one LED at a time immediately upon saltwater exposure, these have been far better, hence the 4 stars.

After one year all 20 of the main LEDs 10 each light still work. The side marker lights failed quickly. In total, these have held up much better to regular saltwater exposure than other brands.

I ordered the trailer lights on Mon and received them on Thursday. It took about a half hour to install them only because I had to drill holes for the ground wires that the other lights did not have. They are brighter than anticipated and work great. The old ones worked, but you could barely see them except at night. I am very pleased with the product and service (as usual). I have ordered a number of items from e-trailer and will continue to do so. The only problem was that I couldn't find the left hand light. When I called, they had the number for it instantly. Great service and speedy delivery. What more can you ask for. Thanks again.

These lights still work just like new I buy all my parts from etrailer and will continue to do so. The prices are cheaper than from my local big box hardware store.

Bought a set of these for my boat trailer. install was easy and look great

Product is just as described. Fast economy shipping with tracking. This was my first experience ordering with etrailer. It is very nice to know that there are companies still in this world that make customer service a priority. Etrailer has definitely won my business and I will be ordering more from them.

Still working great. Still look brand new.
Patrick - 08/19/2016

Light has worked perfectly. LED's are bright, and easy to see!!

Light is bright and sealed from 'Water'- that's what usually kills these. This one's a replacement for one that I broke. They are worth the extra cost. billooltewah

This light is an exact brand replacement for one that I broke. My neighbor has a boat trailer with "waterproof" lights that leak and chronically blow bulbs. I will tell him about these lights--and your great prices and quick service.

Cool. Like new.
Bud B - 11/11/2016

Works , used to replace broken trailer lights on an old equipment trailer.

easy installation. led, gotta love the brightness!!

I should have purchased these when I first got my trailer. Stock lights were junk and always had to work on them to make sure they were working. A year later with theses new led lights wit zero issues.

  • LED Trailer Light Recommendation to Reduce Amperage Draw and Prevent Converter Burn Up
It is very possible that you are overdrawing the taillight converter you have installed on your race car trailer and that is why it is burning up. The easiest fix would be to go to LED trailer lights as they put a fraction of the amperage draw on the trailer wiring when compared to an incandescent. To see all of the LED trailer lights we carry check out the link I attached to the right.

  • Are the LEDs of the Optronics Light # STL8RB Attached to the Lens or the Housing
The lens of the LED Submersible Trailer Stop, Turn and Tail Light # STL8RB that you referenced is held on with 4 screws around the outside of the housing. The LEDs on the inside of the light are not attached to the lens. They are attached to the housing. Since the light isn't designed for that type of modification it would be hard for me to safely recommend you do that. An easier option might be to install the # 763560 as this is a capsule designed to replace the light assembly of a taillight....

  • Can Trailer Tail Lights be Grounded to the Towing Vehicle Instead of the Trailer Frame
When installing the LED Submersible Trailer Stop, Turn and Tail Light, # STL8RB, you will want to ground it to the trailer. Having a ground that is attached to the tow vehicle would be so long it could make the ground ineffective. Also, you would have to disconnect it every time you disconnected the trailer. The movement of the trailer could also pull the ground loose if it were attached to the tow vehicle. If corrosion is a problem, you will need to find the best place you can near the...

The ground wire will need to be attached to a clean and corrosion free metal surface on the trailer. A lot of trailers have tail lights that ground through the mounting studs. These types of lights will also need to be attached to a clean and corrosion free metal surface. A bad or absent ground could...

  • With Vehicle Head Lights On Trailer Turn and Brake Lights Do Not Work
The problem you are having is indicative of a bad ground connection. Ground issues usually show up when there is more load on the system. In this case the constant draw of the running lights is causing too much power draw for the weak ground when you try to use another function. Make sure that the main trailer connector ground and the grounds for all of the lights are attached to clean and corrosion free bare metal surface. Anything placed between a ground wire and the metal frame can...

  • Trailer Lights Flicker After Installing New LED Lights and Rewiring a Car Hauler Trailer
You have definitely taken all of the correct steps so far. Since you are still experiencing problems after the rewire and installing new lights, I would suspect a ground problem. Especially since you were careful not to pinch or damage any of the new wires. Rust and corrosion can often show up at ground locations where the wires make contact with the metal. If you used any of the original ground screw holes, I recommend moving them to a clean bare surface on the trailer frame and scrape...

This light attaches with the mounting studs on the back of the assembly with the included nuts. I attached a review video and an FAQ article on trailer wiring for you to check out as well. • Will Water Get Into LED Trailer Tail Light # STL8RB and Short Out the Light
The LED trailer light # STL8RB is submersible meaning that water can get in but the lights are sealed so the water will not short them out. If you were to seal up all the holes in the back of the light then no water could get in at all and it would not be an issue. Since the lights are sealed on the inside water would not be an issue either way.

  • Troubleshooting Right Blinker/Stop Light Not Functioning on a Trailer
The first thing I would do is check the ground on the right tail light assembly. The ground may not be strong enough to carry the amperage. You will want to make sure the ground is attached to a clean metal surface or if the assembly grounds through the mounting hardware you will want to make sure that surface is a clean metal surface too. The LED Submersible Light part # STL8RB that you referenced would work perfectly for you. You would match the brown and green color wires of the assembly to the brown and green wires of your trailer and then would run the white wire to a clean metal surface that touches your trailer frame. This is the ground circuit. Your old light assemblies probably grounded through the mounting hardware. • Right Side Trailer Brake and Turn Signal are Not Working but All Other Lights Work
This is a classic ground problem, especially since everything else is working. It could be at the trailer connector, vehicle or trailer side, or at the light itself. • Turn Signals and Tail Lights Blink on Trailer After Installing LED Bulbs
It sounds to me that when you activate the left turn signal, the tail light signal (lower intensity signal) on the right tail light blinks. My first thought is there is a wiring or ground issue somewhere on the trailer. It may have not been immediately evident with the incandescent bulbs because they require more power to function than LED bulbs. LED bulbs require only a fraction of power to function and any type of power issue could trigger other lights to function. To troubleshoot this...

  • Left Turn Signal is Dim and Left Brake Signal is Bright on a 2010 Heartland Edge M18 Trailer
I would suspect a poor ground connection as well. It is odd that the brake signal is bright and the turn signal is dim because those signals typically run through the same wire. Any time there is a loss of power or brightness, a ground issue is the likely culprit. It is also important to check for the ground issue first because a new light will have the same problem if there is a poor ground. It sounds like the two wires on your trailer wiring are for the stop/turn and tail light functions and the ground is through the mounting hardware of the light assemblies. • Trailer Clearance Lights Blinking with Turn Signal
It sounds like you might be getting some bleed-over from the turn signals occurring in the trailer connector. Take a look at the trailer connector, and check the plug for corrosion in the sockets. Once this corrosion starts building up, it can actually contact adjacent terminals and cause signal bleed-over. You...
