The waterproof construction of this light makes it ideal for use on trailers that may be submerged, like a boat trailer. The circuit board is sealed, which means that water will not damage the diodes or circuit board.
A PC-rated light produces a 90-degree angle of light to either side of its centerline for a total of 180 degrees of coverage. This beam pattern can be clearly seen when you are standing directly in front of the light, as well as when you are standing on either side of the light. When properly installed, this type of light can function as both a front clearance light and a side marker light or as a rear clearance light and side marker light.

Today we're taking a look at the Peterson red trailer clearance light. Now this red light functions as a clearance light for your trailer. It's sealed, so it's protected from dust and moisture. Internally it contains two incandescent bulbs, one on this side and one on this side. Now your base and wiring are not included. This is designed to snap into a base.
Something that would be very similar to this right here, just a bracket that has the ports for it, has the grounding function through the mounting hardware. And then a single wire designed for power. But again, your base wiring and hardware, all those items are sold separately.It is Department of Transportation compliant, has a nice red lens on it with a white base. When it comes to the dimensions of the unit, we took a measurement edge to edge and got a measurement of about 3 and 13/16 inches long by and inch and a quarter. And a depth of just that lens area measures about 7/8 of an inch deep.I'm going to go and hook up some wires to it that way you can see what it looks like with power running to it and then we'll also turn off our overhead light so you can see it in a low light setting.
So you can see here, it sends out a really nice consistent signal, pretty bright design, two bulb design and those are incandescent bulbs. But it allows for a really nice signal output.That's going to do it for today's look at the Peterson red trailer clearance light.

Accepts standard 2-prong plug. PC rated.They worked out great, installed all 5 of them on our 1994 Pace Arrow motorhome. Saved the old ones that still work for back up. Only one had a bulb burnt out and another the red plastic had a hole in it but the internal bulbs were still working.
They were a great price so we decided to replace them all while we were ordering.

I needed to replace some old side marker lights on my enclosed motorcycle trailer but wasn't sure which ones would fit.
