PC-Rated Lights
A PC-rated light produces a 90-degree angle of light to either side of its centerline for a total of 180 degrees of coverage. This beam pattern can be clearly seen when you are standing directly in front of the light as well as when you are standing on either side of the light. When properly installed, this type of light can function as both a front clearance light and a side marker light or as a rear clearance light and side maker light.
Recessed-mount trailer lights install with a grommet, which is often sold separately. These lights extend past the trailer surface and require a hole for installation. If replacing a light, you can utilize the pre-existing hole. If installing a new light, you will need to cut a hole or use a mounting bracket (sold separately) to complete the installation.

Hi, everybody, Steven here with etrailer.com. Today we're looking at our Peterson LumenX LED clearance and side marker trailer light. It is a submersible light, and it's obviously a round shape and amber lens. Now folks, the LED trailer light functions as both a clearance and side marker, because it's what's called a PC-rated. So a PC-rated light basically produces a 90-degree angle of light to either side of its center line. And that's gonna give you a total of 180 degrees of coverage.
So the beam pattern can be clearly seen when you're either standing directly in front or as well as either side of the light when it's properly installed. And it can function again as both a front clearance light and a side marker. As you can see, the connection points are down inside of there. You would need a industry standard two-prong plug and a recessed PVC ground, and both of those sold separately. It is a 12-volt compatible light.
And again, this is an amber lens over the LEDs. Now, LEDs, as you know, are more efficient. They're brighter. They last longer, and they basically gives you a light that eliminates the entire lens. So and again, in this case, it is a sealed housing, so you don't have to worry about water getting in there.
It is waterproof and it has five diodes inside. It's two inches diameter and about 1 1/2 inches deep. Well, that's gonna wrap it up, folks. I'm Steven, thanks for watching.
