Review from a similar M3 Ramp Springs in Trailer Ramp Springs

The M394FR ramp spring I purchased a year ago has been working great. It was easy to install and out performs the original spring on my 24’ car hauler trailer.

Review from a similar M3 Ramp Springs in Trailer Ramp Springs

Product is good and quality was as expected. Instructions were decent. Packaging was very poor. Product was dropped into oversized box with no packaging materials. Arrived with rod sticking out of the end of the box and a crack in the cable wheel. Wasn't worth the effort to return, so I used as-is.

Review from a similar M3 Ramp Springs in Trailer Ramp Springs

I ordered it and it was here in 3 days! Good quality, Nice price & Fast shipping! Nobody local would sell us one because we weren't using it for a ramp door! We used it to assist in lifting the 80lb. stairs on a truck. Works great, There won't be any back injuries now.

Review from a similar M3 Ramp Springs in Trailer Ramp Springs

Worked well, cut down the bar to fit our trailer needs and bolted right up. Right side pulley was bent, (Probably from Shipping). Working with them for a replacement. Just took the pulley off the old to get the trailer back on the road. Installed quickly with 2 guys and everything was as described when purchased.

I have a home repair buisness and repair and install garage doors so it was a great benifit in intalling this ramp door spring. The quality of these are right up there with whats on your garage door just lighter duty springs. Be sure to weigh your door to get the correct springs. Customer service was beyond great, thank you to all reps.

Everything worked out great. Installed on a snowmobile trailer. The door originally only had a spring system on the bottom of the door. It took 2 people to close. After installing the M394FR it is a 1 arm operation. Highly recommend this product

Review from a similar M3 Ramp Springs in Trailer Ramp Springs

First, shipping was really fast. After I ordered I received a email saying my order had already shipped. I ordered on a Tuesday and was able to install my equipment during the weekend. I have a smaller 6 x 10 trailer and I only utilized 1 torsion spring which gave me a back up spring for reserve. After installing the unit with new tension cables my ramp door works smooth and I’m really happy to have my trailer back in service again. etrailer understands the importance of getting customers product out as soon as possible. I thank you for your professionalism and will recommend your company in the future.

  • Can the 96 Inch Wide Enclosed Trailer Ramp Spring be Trimmed to Fit a 92 Inch Wide Trailer
Yes you can cut the shaft on the 96 inch wide ramp spring, # CB250D96SHD, to fit your 92 inch wide trailer. The shaft is made of steel tubing so the proper saw or power saw blade would cut through it. Be sure to get a straight cut and file down the rough spots. Regarding installation, a professional with experience should install this in your trailer. Torsion springs are under a lot of tension and can be dangerous if you do not have experience with them. A garage door installer would be...

  • When Does the Spring Tighten and Loosen on an Enclosed Trailer Ramp Spring
On a torsion spring like that on # CB250D96SHD when the door is opening downward the line is spooling out and the spring will get tighter. When the line is spooling in, closing the door, the spring will relax or get looser. As such if you have not worked with torsion springs before we strongly recommend having a professional perform the installation. A local over head door company should be able to help.

  • Can a Trailer Ramp Door Spring System Be Used on a 12 x 16 Foot Building
I do recommend the 96 inch system # CB250D96SHD. You can trim down the length for a better fit. The 250 pound capacity will be enough for your door as long as your maximum weight is correct. The springs are longer than on the shorter systems, as is the main shaft. The actual product weight is going to be slightly different with this system being around 45 lbs. It is also strongly advised to have this system professionally installed by a garage door company because torsion springs can...

  • How to Determine Required Capacity of Trailer Ramp Torsion Spring
On a hinged trailer ramp the hinges will carry a varying portion of the ramp weight depending on the ramp's position. When fully opened/extended the torsion spring will actually be holding more of the ramp's weight that when it is almost fully raised. In the fully vertical position more of the ramp weight is on the hinges since the ramp will be more directly over them. The M-3 Enclosed Trailer Ramp Spring # CB250D96SHD can lift 250-lbs of ramp weight. You can use a scale to weigh your...

  • Would Enclosed Trailer Ramp Spring # CB250D96SHD Be Rated High Enough for 92 x 74 inch Ramp
The Enclosed Trailer Ramp Heavy Duty Spring - Dual, 96" Wide # CB250D96SHD is rated for doors up to 250 lbs. I'm confident your ramp won't weigh more than that unless you've added weight to it beyond the decking.

  • Can Mounting Brackets be Moved on Enclosed Trailer Ramp Spring
It is not recommended to adjust any of the parts attached to the main tube of a spring like # CB250D96SHD because of the tension on the springs. • Does Placement Of Cables Change Weight Capacity Of Enclosed Trailer Ramp Spring
The 250 lb weight capacity of the Enclosed Trailer Ramp Spring, part # CB250D96SHD is for the weight of the ramp and not the tension on the springs. The spring is designed to handle the 250 lb ramp regardless of the placement of the cables, although where you place the cable ends would vary the load and stress on the spring. The closest ramp spring we have to what you have is the part # CB250D96SHD that you referenced which is slightly larger than your current setup but could still be made to work. It can be cut down to a minimum length of 80 inches. We strongly recommend having a professional overhead door technician install the spring for you. The spring needs to be tensioned, and if it lets loose accidentally it would fling tools at high enough velocity to easily kill someone.
