Ask the Experts about this TruRyde Trailer Spindles

  • Can a 1-1/16 Inch Trailer Axle Spindle Handle Speeds of 75 Miles Per Hour
Spindles typically do not have a speed rating. Traditionally, the component that limits the trailer speed is the tire. My contact at our spindle manufacturer confirmed that the spindle will perform well when the tire speed is complied with. I also recommend servicing your trailer often if you are driving at speeds upward of 75 mph. You will want to ensure the bearings are properly lubricated and red grease, like # L11390, will work well. I've attached a help article on trailer maintenance...

  • Recommendation for Failing EZ Lube Spindle and Vortex Hub
We do not carry the Vortex hubs made by Tie Down Engineering. Unfortunately because of this, I don't really know how to assist with troubleshooting the hubs themselves as they are designed to seal out moisture and debris, yet are obviously failing. The threaded cab should have an o-ring to prevent moisture entry and the seal should prevent it on the other side. The zerk fitting on your EZ lub spindles is a part of the spindle so to replace that would require changing the entire spindle....

  • Recommended EZ Lube Spindles And Hub Assemblies For 205/50-10 Wheels
For your 205/50-10 golf cart wheels with 4 on 4 inch bolt pattern, I recommend you use the BTR EZ Lube Spindle # TRU44FR. For compatible hub assemblies that include bearings and seal to fit, I recommend the Trailer Idler Hub Assembly for 2,000-lb E-Z Lube Axles - 4 on 4 # AKIHUB-440-2-EZ-2K. This combination will work well for you.

  • Replacement Hub and Bearings for 1989 Tracker Boat Trailer
Based on the pictures you attached and the outer bearing measurement you provided, it appears that you have 1-1/16 inch spindle like the BTR EZ Lube Spindle # TRU44FR. This particular spindle is designed for 2,000 pound axles and will use the same inner and outer bearing. I have attached the spindle's dimensions so you can compare them to what you have in order to verify the replacement bearing sizes. I recommend using a digital caliper like # PTW80157, as the measurements will need to...

  • Choosing Proper Set Angle for Replacement Dexter Torsion Axle.
To allow for full articulation so you don't have to worry about the tires bottoming out int he wheel wells, I'd recommend going with a 15° down torsion axle. If the original axle was a 0°, this would raise the trailer up a bit. A 'down' axle places the spindle centerline below the frame member, while a 0° would place it even with the frame.

  • Which Grease Seal for Trailstar Boat Trailer
I don't have reference that lists which grease seal the hub on your trailer uses. In order to recommend the correct grease seal, I'll need some information from you. I'll need the inner bearing reference number and the diameter of the spindle where the grease seal rides. When you measure the spindle diameter, you'll need to use a highly accurate measuring tool like a digital caliper. Once I have that information, I'd be happy to recommend a grease seal for you.

  • Replacement 1-1/16 Inch Straight Spindle Recommendation
It sounds like you are just needing BTR EZ Lube Spindle # TRU44FR for your trailer axle. This straight spindle features 1.06 (1-1/16) inch diameters where the inner and outer bearings sit. It also has a 1.500 inch diameter for the grease seal. If you need a complete bearing kit, you can use # BK1-150. I have attached a short video demonstration on this spindle that you can also check out. I do recommend having a qualified welder both remove your current spindle and install the new one.

  • Correct 4 Lug Hub for EZ Lube Spindle 1.25 RD STUB
Yes, the Trailer Idler Hub Assembly part # AKIHUB-440-2-G-EZ-2K is a match for the BTR E-Z Lube Spindle for 2,000-lb Trailer Axles part # TRU94FR. The bearings and seal are all a match so you will be good to go. There is also a rubber plug in the grease cap for the zerk fitting on the spindle so again, all is good.

  • Availability of Bearings, Seals, and Cap For 2002 Trailstar Trailer
The best way to determine the correct parts for your 2002 Trailstar trailer is to disassemble a hub on one side of the trailer and get the bearing part numbers that are stamped on the bearings. There is an inner and outer bearing. With these part numbers I will be able to determine the bearings, seals, and other parts you might need for your trailer. • How Do Trailer Spindles Typically Install on Trailer Axle
Removing a damaged spindle is the easy part - it can be cut off with a torch or saw. But welding on a new one is another matter and requires the new spindle be welded exactly straight. It is actually easier to replace the entire axle with a new one that has good spindles on both ends. This may even be less costly than having a new spindle welded on by a qualified welder. It will also ensure that both spindles will have the same working lifespan, which would not be the case if only one is...

  • Steel Type for Trailer Axle Spindle TRU44FR
I checked with Trudyde, and I was able to find out that the bar stock material used to make the spindle is hot rolled SAE 1045 steel, which allows the spindle to harden to an extent. • Is there Any Way to Determine the Trailer Bearing Measurements without Pulling the Hub
The short answer is that you cannot. You will need to pull the hub and get the numbers stamped into the bearings to find the correct replacements. It is possible that if you know the spindle part number and/or dimensions that you will be able to determine the seals that way. I also may be able to figure it out if I had the bolt pattern of the wheel, see link, and the axle capacity. The best way is to pull the hub. I have included a link to a video that might help.
