  • Troubleshooting Slight Amount of Grease Leaking from E-Z Lube Spindle
Any grease on the back of the wheel could be from the grease working its way out from having slightly too much or it could be from a grease cap or grease seal that is not fitting properly. The grease cap and seal should be keeping any excessive grease off the wheel unless the parts are failing. I recommend pulling the rubber plug to see if there is grease inside and if so just clean the wheel and keep your eye on it for more. If it keeps happening, something is not working correctly...

  • Length of Inner Part of #84 Spindle
Of course! From the threads back to where the rise sits for the grease seal location on the #84 E-Z Lube Spindle # TRU74FR we have about 3-1/8" of spacing. Attached is a review video for you to check out as well as a photo showing this dimension.

  • Greasing E-Z Lube Spindles on Trailer
It sounds like your you have E-Z Lube spindles on your trailer that feature grease zerk fittings at the ends of the spindle. Adding grease to the spindle and bearings is just a matter of using a grease gun like what it sounds like you have done. The spindle will have a hole in it so that it fills the hub components from the back of the inner bearing with grease as you pump grease into the fitting. You will want pump the grease slowly while occasionally rotating the hub so as to prevent...

  • Is it Normal for Grease to Leak Out of EZ Lube Grease Cap
One of the big issues that EZ lube spindles create is that it's too easy to put too much grease into them which then either causes the seal to blow out or the cap to leak like what you have found. This oftentimes happens after that first trip like what happened to you. I don't actually recommend using the EZ lube fitting to add grease and instead recommend just packing it all by hand and leaving it as-is. In your case I would recommend pulling the hubs off and making sure the seal is in...

  • 3,500 lb Spindle Recommendation for Boat Trailer
We do not have the axle you are looking for, but we do have 3,500 lb spindles that may be just what you need. The part # TRU74FR is an EZ lube spindle with a 3,500 lb capacity. This would fit standard 3,500 lb hubs as well. Trailer spindles should only be installed by a qualified fabricator with trailer axle experience who has the necessary equipment to square up a trailer spindle. It's not a project for someone who's pretty good at welding since if the spindle is off by just a little...

  • Replacement Spindle For a Lippert LCI35 Diamond Torsion Axle On a 2021 Forest River R-Pod 196
The #84 E-Z Lube Spindle # TRU74FR is the same size spindle uses on your Lippert Torsion Axle. The stub is 1-3/4" diameter and 4-1/4" long. You will need to compare this to the size used on your 2021 Forest River R-Pod 196 to determine if any modification will be needed.

  • Recommended Hub for a 2016 Yacht Club WC112 Trailer
You will need to confirm your bearing numbers and wheel bolt pattern to make sure the correct parts are ordered. Unfortunately we do not have a way to look up the VIN on a trailer, but if you contact the manufacturer of the trailer, they should be able to tell you exactly which inner and outer bearings you have and the bolt pattern of your wheels. If for some reason they can't, you will need to pull off one of the hubs. Once it is off, you will need to measure the inner diameters of both...

  • Which is Better an EZ Lube Spindle or a Bearing Buddy Setup
An EZ lube spindle will be better because it allows you to insert grease from inside the spindle where the bearings are and push out the old grease whereas with a Bearing Buddy you basically just get to push grease through the front of the hub. I attached a link to a page that has all of the EZ lube spindles we carry. The advantage to a Bearing Buddy would be that it would be much easier to install since they basically just replace the grease cap whereas with a new spindle you have to...

  • Replacing Damaged Axles and Spindles on a Yacht Club Trailer
In order to determine which replacement axles you need, I will need a few measurements. I will need hub face to hub face measurement, spring center to center dimension, inner and outer wheel bearing reference number, and the axle capacity. Take a look at the diagram I included. Regarding replacement spindles, you will want to use a dial caliper to measure the dimensions of your spindle for me to recommend a new one. The spindle measurements are labeled A through F, please view the diagram...

  • Benefit of E-Z Lube Spindles for Easier Wheel Bearing Lubrication
Using a grease gun on the zerk fitting of an E-Z Lube spindle like # TRU74FR can make it all too easy to over-fill the hub grease level. Care should be taken to avoid the risk of blowing out the inside grease seal. For such applications a double-lip seal is recommended since it will be less likely to suffer failure and leak grease everywhere. Using E-Z Lube spindles/grease caps makes for an easier time topping off the wheel bearing grease level. But the same routine maintenance is still...

  • Acceptable Range of Spindle Deflection on Torsion Axle
Torsion axles can have different spindles with varying geometry. The specific spindle installed will have a specific range of deflection angle. The spindles on torsion axles can deflect as much as 4-inches between the unloaded and loaded conditions. A 1-inch height drop suggests you are well within the axle capacity and that it is not worn out.

  • Design of EZ-Lube Spindles to Allow Grease to Reach Inner and Outer Bearings
I think you may be referring to the spindle that is installed on your trailer axle. The spindle is the part such as # TRU74FR which has a grease zerk fitting on the spindle's end. This grease fitting allows you to fill the hub bore and both inner and outer bearings with grease without having to remove the hub to pack the bearings by hand.
