Speaker 1: Today we're taking a look at an equalizer for a two and a half inch wide slipper springs. When it comes to the configuration, this is designed for the right-hand side of the trailer. Now this equalizer connects slipper springs on dual or triple axle trailers. You attach one spring with a bolt through the eye on this end of the equalizer, and then slip the arched end of the other spring into the equalizer on this end. And then the equalizer is designed to suspend from a center hanger that would be mounted onto the frame. Center hangers are sold separately.
If you need some or need one, you can check on options at etrailer.com. This equalizer is designed to transfer load and sudden impacts from one axle to another, helps to distribute weight evenly, and results in a smoother ride for the trailer. This is designed for use on trailers with 10,000 pound general duty Dexter axles and leaf springs with three quarter inch rubber bushed eyes. It allows for 42 and one quarter inch axle spacing. Again, it does fit two and a half inch wide slipper leaf springs. The center bolt hold diameter is one inch, the side bold hold diameter for mounting the spring is three quarters of an inch in diameter.
Overall, edge to edge this direction, we're looking at about 18 and a half inches. Width measurement measures about three and one eighth inches. And then the height measurement is about five and one quarter. And that's going to do it for today's look at the equalizer for two and a half inch wide slipper springs.

The part sent was supposed to be for the right hand side of the trailer, and as pictured would have the square pin hole on the outside of the equalizer allowing for greasing of the spring eye bolt without crawling under the trailer. The part received had the square pin hole on the left or inside of the equalizer, and although able to be assembled this way, will require going under the trailer to grease.
I decided to call etrailer after my wife drove to a local trailer parts supplier and spent 2 hours dealing with incompetent people and still was sold the incorrect parts. I spoke to Natalie and was impressed by her knowledge of the old design Dexter suspension that I was working on. I ordered and actually received the correct parts the first time around. The spring equalizers, spring eye bushings and all the pins were high quality parts. I’ve been a professional tech for over 30 years and am having a harder and harder time finding knowledgeable parts people. Call and order with confidence.
Shipping was super fast and Ms Hally answered all my questions.
