Video Transcript for Review of etrailer Trailer Leaf Spring Suspension - Hanger For Double Eye Spring - 115918

Hi everybody, Andy here with Let's take a brief look together at this hangar for double eye springs. This is designed to be used as a front, center, or rear hangar for double or triple axle applications. And this can also be used as a front hangar only on single axle applications. Now, this is going to fit your 1-3/4 inch wide double eye springs with a 9/16 inch diameter eye, and we can tell this by taking this measurement here. Line this up here so you can see.

So as you can see, the opening measurement there inside edge to inside edge is about two inches. And then that's going to narrow as we move up here to about 1-7/8 inches at the top. So this is going to fit a 1-3/4 inch wide double eye spring perfectly. And again, this is going to work with a 9/16 of an inch diameter bolt. I do wanna point out that that bolt is not included.

This is constructed from durable steel. It is a weld-on installation. And let me go ahead and just give you some overall measurements that I think will prove helpful for you. So looking at the overall height from top to bottom, we're sitting right at 3-3/16 inches tall. The overall depth from edge to edge, we're sitting right at three inches deep.

And then the overall width from edge to edge again, right at 2-7/16 inches wide. And then the height from the center of our bolt hole all the way to the top of our hangar, we're sitting right at two, and if I can hold that steady, right at 2-3/8 inches tall. And then you might be wondering about the thickness of this hangar. And so looking at just the thickness there, we're sitting right at 3/16 of an inch thick. I think that's going to wrap up our look today.

I do hope that the information was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.

Hanger can be configured to work as either a front, center, or rear hanger on tandem- or triple-axle applications. Can be used on single-axle trailers as a front hanger only. Designed to suspend your double-eye leaf spring.

Just as good as the ones from the big box stores but way cheaper.

Good steel. Just not bent enough. Measures 3/8” wider at the open end. Just extra work tightening the bolts but not a huge deal

The bracket arrived earlier than i expected. It came carefully packaged and is of excellent quality. I am very pleased. Thanks!

As described and ship quickly.

I had some issues with the part missing from the box in transit. Looked like the poor package had been through the ringer. etrailer shipped another almost immediately. Incredible customer service. Will definitely be buying from them in the future!

Part works great. Seems to be really nice quality as well.

Fast service and great products

I always order trailer parts from trailer. Always fast shipping and you can't beat the prices.

This is undoubtedly an excellent company to do business with the fastest shipping I have ever seen

The trailer shackle brackets worked great and are very strong. I used them to hold my trailer tail gate in the upright traveling position. Today's trailer manufactures make the connections so cheap and they don't last long. The gate will rust off before these brackets brake. I welded one on horizontal to trailer. Cut one in half so it was flat and also welded horizontal to trailer gate raised after lining the holes up for a 1/2" hitch pin. Raise gate and drop in hitch pin, simple and works great. It is an 18' utility trailer with a 5' gate using a gorilla lift system on it because of my senior age and lifting ability.

I was very satisfied with the replacement hangers I purchased. They fit perfectly, were reasonably priced, and arrived in a very reasonable amount of time. I will use etrailer again for any future trailer repair I need.

It is still in good shape and doing great. This trailer is used for hauling in heavy round bales of hay as well as green heavy stalks of tobacco. The hangers had to be replaced because of a tractor running in to the side of the trailer. Your replacement hangers did the trick to get the trailer in running shape again.tom g.

I got exactly what I ordered very quickly and the products are excellent. Thanks.

And don't say this is my to go place when I'm buying parts for trailers. Very satisfied always with my product, and customer service is very helpful when I don't know what the parts that I need

I needed these hangers quickly as we had limited time to fabricate a frame to move a structure. They are well made ,1/2 the price of other vendors and were delivered in 3 days.

the bracket wasjust what I needed. Came very fast. hank you.

Looks great, thanks!

I welded these to my fifth wheel and they have worked flawlessly. Thanks etrailer. God bless.

Carelessly when shipped the products, didn’t protect the products with bubble wrap. Received as damages products inside the box during shipment. Called in to customer service had to wait 44 minutes.

I am very sorry to hear that the order arrived damaged and that it had taken longer then we like to reach us. It is our busy season and we are working to respond to all calls and emails as quickly as possible.

Nice heavy 3/16 steel. Has a little outward bow to it so when you tighten down your bolds it will compress a little but not bind up spring eyes or equalizer.

Great product and customer service was outstanding. I wasn't sure if the hangers would work in the application I was using them for so Jean in customer service pulled the 2 items, measured them and confirmed I was good to go.

Look like very good quality material haven't installed as of yet but they should work perfect.
Shipped almost immediately after I ordered them and received relatively quickly, and the cost to ship was not horrible for me it is probably cheaper than the gas as I am somewhat rural and have nothing close to go purchase in person and even if I did they would not be as knowledgeable as etrailer and you probably won't get what you actually need.

I liked that etrailer shipped rapidly and accurately and the product was perfectly as described.

Exce!lent product, just what I was looking for. Great communication and fast shipping too!

Great product, heavy made hangers, fit well on the trailer.
Would have rated higher if the shipping would have be less expensive

everything i received was great . ill be back for more thanks to e-trailers

  • Recommended Parts For Suspension Building Car Hauler Suspension With Tandem 3,500LB Axles
Andy, while I do like your Axle # e95SR and U-Bolt Kit # CE23002 selection of which you will need 2 of each I do have another recommendation for the suspension kit. The Tandem-Axle Trailer Hanger Kit # APT3 you found has longer equalizers designed for a 35" spacing used on larger axles. Also I do not like the shackle straps it comes with either as they are a thin steel and over time the holes will likely start to elongate. Instead you should use the Dexter Heavy-Duty Suspension Kit # K71-359-00...

  • Recommended Suspension Hangers for Use with Dexter Suspension Kit K71-360-00
There are different hangers that you could use with the Dexter heavy duty suspension kit # K71-360-00. To achieve 4-1/2 to 5 inches clearance between the trailer frame and axles you could use 6 of hanger # 28-5. To achieve 3-1/2 to 3-1/4 inches clearance you could use 4 of front/rear hangers # 115917 and 2 of center hanger # 115918 but these are usually found on lower capacity axles. These are going to be the most common set ups and should work well for you.

  • New Hangers for my Trailer
I've got a solution for you. Unfortunately the CE Smith Front/Rear Hanger Bracket for Double-Eye Springs - part # CE14026G you looked at aren't going to work. I measured the mounting hole on it and they are on 1 9/16" centers which means half of each hole will be covered by your trailer frame. I then checked out CE Smith Front/Center/Rear Hanger part # CE14035G40 and those hoes are on 1 5/8" canters still no good for your application. After some brainstorming I came up with two options...

  • Should There Be Clearance On The Center Hanger # 115918
You will want a bit of clearance so that the spring will be able to move.If it were any tighter the spring would squeak and wear obsessively. You will not want to add a washer to the Center Hanger, part # 115918. There is clearance to allow the spring to move and so that there will not be squeaking and excessive wear on the the spring and hanger. The hanger that you are replacing more than likely has an elongated hole from wear and tear and bushings that are worn or starting to wear.

  • What Size Bolt-On Leaf Spring Hangers Are Available
We only have 2 options for bolt-on hangers: - CE Smith Front/Rear Hanger Bracket for Double-Eye Springs # CE14026G which have an inside width of 1-1/4" - CE Smith Front/Center/Rear Hanger Bracket for Double-Eye Springs # CE14035G40 which have an inside width of 2" Typically with leaf springs that measure 1-3/4" you are using a bracket like the Front/Center/Rear Hanger for Double-Eye Springs # 115918 which has an inside width of 1-7/8" not 2". But this is a weld on option which won't...

  • Recommend Hangers, Shackle Straps, and Bolts for Equa-Flex Cushioned Equalizers # LC279688
For a center hanger you will want something that isn't too tall because equalizers # LC279688 are quite tall compared to regular equalizers. Hanger # 115918 is what I would go with. The front and rear hangers would need to be taller than the center so I recommend # E4139. Then for shackle straps I recommend # TRSL313. This should get you right about level. So you will need: 2 of hanger # 115918 4 of hanger # E4139 8 of shackle strap # TRSL313 14 of wet bolt and nut # 126B2 The Equa-Flex...

  • Do Trailer Equalizer Heights have to be the Same to Level Trailer Leaf Spring
Hangers come in varying heights to accommodate equalizers that have different heights and different frame clearances but the end goal is to allow the leaf springs to sit as level as possible. The part # 115918 you referenced is the 2-1/2 inch height you are looking for but a different option might be to go with a different height equalizer. I attached a link to a page that has all of the equalizers we carry as well.

  • Will Taller Hangers Lift My Keystone Travel Trailer
The Hanger part # 115918 is going to lift your trailer, how much depends on the hangers that you currently have on the trailer. The difference between the height of your current hangers and these will be how much lift you get on the Keystone. We do carry taller hangers like part # E4139 that measures 4-1/4" tall. Another option for a lift is an over-under kit like part # K71-384-00 for a 2-3/8" axle or part # K71-385-00 for a 3" axle. You are basically moving the springs to on top of the...

  • Replacement Suspension Components for 1970's Tandem Axle Horse Trailer
We do have replacement parts for your trailer. Starting with the equalizer we have the # TREQR89. It sounds like you have 3-1/8" shackle straps so I recommend the MORryde Suspension Upgrade Kit # MR76ZR. This comes with wet bolts, bronze bushings, and 1/2" thick shackle straps. I believe you're talking about hangers when you gave those shackle dimensions. The closest we have to your front and rear are the # 115918 which are 2-3/8" tall. The closest thing we have to 6-3/4" is the 5-7/16"...

  • Could Lippert Center Point Air Bag System Work on Triple Axle Trailer with Slipper Springs
Sounds like you may have slipper springs which the Lippert Components Center Point # LC1565401 that you referenced is not designed to work with. However, I believe your trailer has three 7k axles so if you wanted to convert your trailer to double eye springs you could use the springs part # e64SR. For new hangers then we have the part # 115918 which you can use on the ends and for bolts you can use the part # 126B2. For shackles then we have the # TRSL225 and you'd be set.

If you don't want to buy larger equalizers then you will need to replace the center spring hanger to bring your equalizers back up to accommodate for 1-1/4". Depending on what size hangers you currently have you will want the 2-3/8" Tall Center Hanger for Double-Eye Springs 9/16" Bolt Hole item # 115918. Or the 1/4" tall Center Hanger for Double-Eye Springs item # 28-5. If those two heights don't work for you I have linked our entire selection of spring hangers below.

  • How to Determine Hanger Spacing for Tandem Axle Trailer Suspension with 26 Inch Springs
Thank you for providing the specs for the suspension components that you already have. Correct hanger spacing really depends on the components being used such as springs, hangers and equalizers. Most of the hanger spacing dimensions that we have are based on our preassembled kits, so we will use that as a foundation for your setup. First, I would either replace all of the front and rear hangers with 2-1/2 inch tall hangers like part # 115918 or replace just the center hangers with 2-1/2...

  • How To Choose The Correct Hanger Width For A Double Eye Leaf Spring
No, the bolts while being tightened down should not cause the hangers to bend inward towards the leaf. This will weaken the hanger and potentially cause it fail. You will need to get new hangers to match your leaf springs or new leaf springs to match your hangers. There should only be around an 1/8" or less of clearance between the leaf spring and hanger. So ideally your trailer sits as level as possible and you have at least 6 inches between the bed rails and the overhang of the trailer. The main reason you are having a hard time with this is the oversize tires you have on your truck which is adding quite a bit of height. Going to a smaller tire will help and fix the problem. The thing to keep in mind though is that the overall diameter of a tire is split on either side of the axle center. So if you go to a tire that's 2 inches shorter...
