Unlike standard trailer tire tread, which has solid, continuous ribs, the tread on these Castle Rock radials has ribs with breaks. These breaks allow water to run off to the sides. The Castle Rock tread also has sipes. Siping is a process in which thin grooves (or sipes) are cut into the rubber of the tire. The grooves channel water away from the tread so that the tire makes better contact with the road. Both of these features greatly improve traction during wet, snowy, or icy conditions.
Castle Rock radials are constructed with double steel belts and double nylon cords. A protective layer of nylon is wrapped around the steel belts to help prevent tread separation.
Radial ply tires are designed for trailers that are towed on the highway. The cords on a radial tire are positioned at a 90-degree angle to the direction of travel so that they lay across the width of the tire from wheel lip to wheel lip. This construction prevents the cords from rubbing against one another when the tire flexes, unlike the cords on a bias ply tire. As a result, radial tires have less rolling resistance and heat buildup, which leads to a longer tread life and improved steering at higher speeds.

Had a blowout while driving my enclosed trailer and this tire is the Perfect replacement tire
I bought this tire to replace exactly the one that was on the trailer. I've found different manufacturers tires are not exactly the same size even though the numbers match. I had one tire on my dump trailer locking up when I applied the brakes. It was a different manufacturer and when comparing it was actually about a 1/2" smaller height wise. This is the exact tire that the rest of the tires on my trailer are and it has been working great. It is just a tire. Not to much t report on.
etrailer was the only place I could find to order a tire that matched the other three tires on my RV. Ordering was easy and the tire was delivered when they said it would be. The tire was delivered in a cardboard box with handles making it easy to move around. If I ever need another tire I would definitely use etrailer.com again.
I had a blowout on my way home from Florida back to Texas on my travel trailer. Half way home and was glad had a spare. When I got back I called the local dealership and they referred me to etrailer.com because they couldn’t get it in stock from their supplier. Looked up on internet and found the exact match.

I called around and could no one had this in stock but could order it with no idea when it would arrive. The dealer I bought the camper from suggested going to etrailer.com and they not only had it but sent it the same day and it show up 2days later. You can't beat that! Worst tires ever!!!! Many blow outs and wear problems. Broken belts in new tires. These tires have destroyed many a fender well!!!

I no longer own the vehicle that I bought the tires for
I rate 5 stars for the following reasons: (a) etrailer had the best price for my trailer tires, (b) the order was delivered by UPS in 3 days for free, and (c) I was kept informed by email of the progress of my order.
It was the exact same tire I needed due to a blow out. It arrived quickly, in perfect condition. I have ordered multiple times from trailer, all products as advertised. Will recommend them, anytime.

Tire was bought to replace a blown spare and was never used. Trailer was sold four months after tire purchase.
Was good for the first 2 months until it blew out out on me

Imagine a four-month-old tire with a softball-sized bulge on the sidewall. Thats what I saw as I was pulling out to drive 200+ miles alone through a remote part of Idaho. I sent a pic to Castle Rock and - to their credit - they immediately offered to partially reimburse me for the tire which indicates that it was a manufacturers failure. On the downside, its been 10 weeks and the check has yet to arrive. Big picture - this is my fourth Castle Rock trailer tire to fail in 3.5 years30,000 miles on the road. I have since switched brands and have had no further tire failures.
