Determining the Bolt Pattern

The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.

Bolt Pattern - Odd

To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: "5 on 4-1/2" means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)

Bolt Pattern - Even

On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: "8 on 6-1/2" means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)

Bolt Pattern - Side

Measuring the distance from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

  • If D = 2-5/8", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2"
  • If D = 2-3/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-3/4"
  • If D = 3", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5"
  • If D = 3-1/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5-1/2"

They Arrived very quickly and safely which was great for my schedule to get them installed to do work last Saturday morning. Packaged well. Handled well.

Product is perfect. Looks great, is working fine. Got at least one compliment of the white rims on z Facebook and in person so far too.

Nice to find made in USA manufacturer. Arrived in timely manner. The hub covers were also ordered and arrived timely. Nice addition to trailer appearance.

I received the item as ordered and it was shipped with UPS which is far superior to the other shipping company. Where Etrailer excels is their communication and speed with the shipping process. Within 2 hours of ordering I received an email stating item was shipped, then follow up emails stating item was delivered. Great job with customer service!

Great appearance and fit, will use for all my trailer needs.

Ms. Peyton,

not believe how fast the order arrived. It was in good shape and all the order was included. I will be a few week before I will start on my project of putting a sub-frame under my cargo trailer. I will send pictures when I get finished.

Thanks again for making the ordering process go smoothly. And the packaging and shipping team also.

Sincerely, Jerry Texas

The spring part seems weak. It has held up so far. Drove 3000 miles 1500 with a load of about 1200 lbs. Handles well on hiway but off road, like my gravel sandy clay road with wash boards, cattle guards and bumps, uneven terrain yet not serious off road altogether, the things are tipping at times and slowy becoming lower and less travel. Occasional the entire trailer bounces in air. These will need replacement before too much longer and seem a bit weak over all. Nice quiet sound and overall great but just not heavy enough to hold up off the smooth hiway

Gets the job done! Needed a mounted spare tire for my utility trailer and filled the need. Always fast service from etrailer and would not hesitate to shop from them again.

Thankfully I have not need to use the mounted spare yet, but having it available is a huge plus. Trailer is stored outside, but the wheel continues to look new with no visible rust or corrosion. Never disappoint with items purchase from etrailer, and they continue to be a primary source for parts and accessories for my trailers and trucks.

With Ford's better idea, lining up all of the sleeves to neck down from 31/2 to 21/4, this locked everything together very nicely. Extremely well built.

Great for my spare tire!

Your company service was great it even came a day earlier than I was told I have the utmost trust in your company thank you very much.

As advertised.

Great, for use on a utility trailer.

Very hard to find products like this that are made in USA. Thank you for selling these. These are quality made, and I will be mounting US made Goodyear Endurance tires on them.

nice product and reasonabled priced always a pleasure to work with etrailer

These wheels are well made, I had no problems at all, the powder coat finish is pretty good, they seem to be true and accurate, very good wheels, and look nice too.

Inexpensive wheel that gets the job done! Fits perfect on the tire and the trailer.

Well, I think the USA wheel could and should be better than a made in China. That's why I bought it. To support a USA company and their employees. Upon getting them today, first thing I noticed is two wheels per box. I ordered 4 wheels. So two boxes. The wheels were not shipped tightly in this box and rolled around and clunked into each other. There were chips on wheels, paint missing where they collided. Packers need to cover these with bubble wrap and have them secured more. This would be for any wheels. Not just this one. I heard them clang as the UPS delivery guy put them on the ground. This needs improvement immediately. I then took the wheels to Discount tires where I was able to purchase USA made trailer tires. And found that one of the rims was bent. It was still usable but required lots of extra weights to balance it. So I'm giving 4 stars as there needs to be improvement here too. By time I find this out, well its really too late to do anything about it. The chips could have been prevented from better shipping detail to protect them. I'll have to seal them with some primer and paint so they won't rust in those places. I'm normally very happy with my purchases here at etrailer but this time was a bit of a disappointment.

  • What Weight is the Dexstar AM20422 Rated To?
I spoke with Dexstar and they did confirm that the Dexstar # AM20422 is rated to 2,150 pounds at 80 psi. This was updated in 2017 per Dexstar. The labels on the wheels do indeed say the newer 2,150 pounds as well.

  • Is it Safe to Change the Wheel and Tire Size on a Trailer or Vehicle
On a trailer it is permissible to change tire sizes provided there is enough clearance all around the old size to use the larger size. On passenger vehicles including motorhomes changing tire sizes will affect the accuracy of the speedometer so it would have to be recalibrated in addition to making sure there is enough clearance.

  • Trailer Tire vs. Trailer Wheel Weight Carrying Ratings
If a trailer tire and wheel each have different weight capacities then the lower-rated item of the two determines the overall capacity of the combination. You can certainly run a tire with a lower or higher weight rating than the wheel its used on but you will be limited to the capacity of the lower-rated component. The key for safe and legal trailering is to ensure that the lowest-rated component is rated adequately for the load on it. Extra capacity in other components is fine but you're...

  • Tires Wearing Out On 6 Month Old Travel Trailer
If you haven't done a lot of towing with your trailer, it seems the tires you had wore out much too soon. If the tires wore out on the inside, it is almost always due to excessive weight on the trailer. Be sure to check the trailer capacity and stay within the trailer limits. The capacity is set by the axle and other components on the trailer. I recommend checking with the dealer you got the trailer from to see what wheels were placed on the trailer, because trailer wheel capacities can...

  • Can 15 Inch Trailer Tires be Replaced with 16 Inch Trailer TIres
The first thing you will need to check is if there is enough space around the existing tires to use the larger size. Based on the old size you have, 235/75-15 (which isn't a common trailer tire size) the tires are approximately 28.8 inches tall and 9.25 inches wide. The nearest size up in a 16 would be a 235/80-16 which is 30.9 inches tall and 9.4 inches wide. So the new size would be 2 inches taller and about 3/16 inches wider. The width is probably fine but you will need to make sure...

  • How is Trailer Wheel Width Measured
Wheel width is measured from bead seat to bead seat so you cannot accurately measure it without removing the tire first.
