Determining the Bolt Pattern
The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.
To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: "5 on 4-1/2" means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)
On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: "8 on 6-1/2" means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)
Measuring the distance from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

etrailer was one of the few places in the country that had this vintage trailer rim…and it came the next day. Thanks so much.
After searching on line for a vintage Dexter "star" rim one was found at etrailer.com. I contacted them to confirm the size, appearance and general configurations of the rim as it had to match four other rims. The people at etrailer.com were very helpful and where able to answer all the questions. I also forwarded photographs of the existing wheels with dimensions and Salvatore M. immediately confirmed selection of the rim was correct. We had many communications back and forth and etrailer.com was knowledgeable and professional. Delivery was as noted and the rim has been mounted with new rubber tire and has been tested on the trailer. For information the double axle trailer was fabricated by my dad, who was a boiler maker, back in 1981. It has a tubular steel frame and 1/8" checker plate deck with removable side capable of supporting 10,000 lbs. I am very thankful etrailer.com was able to provide the new rim for the trailer's spare tire.
Fit perfectly getting new tires put on them today.

I have an early 1970's Prowler travel trailer with wheels that have a large open circle pattern vs the X type pattern of this wheel. This wheel fits perfectly albeit a different look than the others. Can't complain since it is almost impossible to find these wheels. Excellent service and quick delivery...very satisfied.
