Radial Tires vs. Bias Tires
Radial ply tires are designed for trailers that are towed on the highway. The cords on a radial tire are positioned at a 90-degree angle to the direction of travel so that they lay across the width of the tire from wheel lip to wheel lip. This construction prevents the cords from rubbing against one another when the tire flexes, unlike the cords on a bias ply tire. As a result, radial tires have less rolling resistance and heat buildup, which leads to a longer tread life and improved steering at higher speeds.
Determining the Bolt Pattern
The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.
To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: "5 on 4-1/2" means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)
On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: "8 on 6-1/2" means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)
Measuring the distance from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.
- If D = 2-5/8", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2"
- If D = 2-3/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-3/4"
- If D = 3", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5"

Nice tires and rims!! They came in a timely manner. They were bolt on ready. (minus the dang little warning stickers that leave goop wherever they were stuck) When ordering, I paid attention to the Load Rating. Never even thought that they would be SPEED rated?!?! So, I purchased tires that are rated at 65 MPH! But they have the correct Load Rating!! So, just a heads up, don’t make my mistake. check the Load AND Speed ratings BEFORE you buy!!! etrailers updates and follow up are excellent. Since the Speed Rating was my mistake, I did not check in with Customer Service. But my guess would be, based upon current experience, Customer Service is problem just as good as the rest of the services!

good looking rims and decent tires. had to get them balanced and had to get different lug nuts because the holes for the nuts to sit in are smaller than the open end nuts most trailers come with. look great though and run good.

They are aluminum wheels and seem to be well-made. Here is a hint, though. The holes are too small for the two automotive lug wrenches I tried. I tried a 13/16" Spark Plug socket but it was too weak and deformed (if you try that and don't deform it you may not be putting enough torque on it). I bought a 13/16", 6-Point, 3/8" Drive Socket from Sears which works fine.

I had tires balanced, one took 1/2 oz on inside the other was "00" no balance needed. The ride wad much smoother then bias ply tires, etrailer thank you for advice.

Didn't give the full 5 stars strictly because... China. Rim machining is excellent though. Tires are good quality. Bought these as replacements on my 10 ft Karavan PWC trailer. Upgraded from tiny 4.80 X 12 bias plies to these larger radials. Way better confidence traveling down the interstate now.
P.S. the sticker goo comes right off with acetone, no damage at all to rim finish!

I have had a great experience with these tires and rims. I put them on my utility trailer and they not only look great, but they handle the loads I carry. I had a flat on my boat trailer returning home from a Minnesota walleye fishing trip. A few of the guys I was fishing with told me about E Trailer and how great they were so I called them to order this new tire & rim combo. The product shipped the day I ordered it and arrived the next morning via UPS. I was able to mount the new tire & rim, seems to fit well only problem is that I don't have correct lug bolts which I ordered and those shipped same day and are delivering next day. Overall I would highly recommend this company, the people are really friendly, helpful if you aren't 100% sure of exactly what you need. Heidi, Judy and Kevin all helped me with my orders and they were really great folks. I'm ordering rest of my boat trailer tires from this company from now on.
