1-Year Worry-Free Guarantee

This tire has a 1-year worry-free guarantee. If within the first 12 months the tire is damaged in any way, it will be replaced at no charge.

Bias Tires vs. Radial Tires

Bias vs. radial tire graphic

Bias ply tires are designed for off-road or agricultural applications. They are built with thick, durable nylon cords that are positioned at a 30- to 45-degree angle to the direction of travel. The layers alternate in a crisscross pattern, making the sidewalls stiffer so that the entire tire is able to flex easily. As a result, the tire provides a smooth ride and improved handling when trailering on uneven surfaces.

Determining the Bolt Pattern

The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.

Bolt Pattern - Odd

To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: "5 on 4-1/2" means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)

Bolt Pattern - Even

On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: "8 on 6-1/2" means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)

Bolt Pattern - Side

Measuring the distance from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

  • If D = 2-5/8", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2"
  • If D = 2-3/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-3/4"
  • If D = 3", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5"
  • If D = 3-1/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5-1/2"

I see that we sent you a new tire with galvanized wheel and were wondering if you had any feedback about the product for other shoppers?

by:

Outstanding customer support making certain the proper wheel and tire were ordered for my boat trailer. Everything has worked out fine.

by:

This has been used as a spare tire but has held air and still looks good and not rusty. The price and quality of the tire has served well.

by:

Tire and rim are awesome.

by:

After purchasing an awesome aluminum trailer from Nitro trailers in Maine. I realized I needed a spare tire. I looked to Etrailer to find a quality spare tire that would look good and match what I had. I was able to look at some reviews and watch videos to confirm I was making the right purchase. I also needed a method of mounting that tire and found a great mount here as well. While shopping at etrailer I found this nice wheel chock to aid in hauling my motorcycle. This is a great place defined what you’re looking for. In the last two months I’ve purchased a trailer hitch, wiring harness , A bike rack, a cargo carrier, this wheel and tire in the wheel chock. A bike rack, cargo carrier, this wheel and tire in the wheel chock All of them are great

by:

Product is as described. Its a wheel and tire ;) The best part is the communication from etrailer which always kept me informed as to the status of my order and shipping of these tires. Also love the videos which provide alot more info than anything else on the web.

by:

Delivery was quick and the product was in great shape. I have yet to install and use the new tires, but they look great.

Not good. Had to use 6 Oz weight to balance one tire and 4 on the other one.

@Jerry We're sorry to hear that! That's not unheard of with wheels that have a galvanized finish, because the wheel is dipped in the coating which can cause it to be unevenly distributed.

by:

Tires were great . Trailer handles so much better.

Wendell S.

Working out great ,wheels and tires are still in good shape. Trailer is still running smooth.

by:

Economy Spare Tire Carrier . Works great for the money and very easy to install. I had to make a easy to do adapter because of the area I had to mount it. 2 short peices of pipe and 2 large washers would do it. I have welding capability so I went one step further.

by:

I needed a spare tire and rim to match the ones on a boat trailer I recently bought. Etrailer.com was able to match my tire exactly, and for a much better price than I could find locally. They were able to exactly match a spare tire carrier to fit my trailer as well. Will use them for all my trailer needs in the future.

One of the tires was unbalanced and the tread was destroyed after 3,000 mi

I am sorry that the tire did not last for you. The tires on the rims that we carry are balanced in the sense that the low spot on the tire is matched with the high spot on the rim. Typically that is all that is needed when running on tire on a trailer. There can be a couple of reasons why the tread was destroyed. There could be excessive heat causing be underinflating. The tire could be overloaded. If the speed rating for the tire is surpassed. The spindles could be bent. All of these can cause uneven wear on the tire and lead to a blow out. The tire does have a 5 year warranty against manufacturer defect if everything else is checking out.

by:

Got them early

by:

The work man ship for one wheel is not looking good as the other one. The coating is poor on the back side of the wheel.

by:

Nice looking product and was delivered on time.

by:

Tire/wheel arrived clean, correctly inflated, and securely packaged. Super prompt delivery.

by:

Wheel had nicer finish than expected. Good and shiny. Tire looks good and new. Good price and shipped very quick

  • Manufactured Date of Trailer Tires
All of our trailer tires like the Loadstar ST175/80D13 Bias Trailer Tire with Wheel # AM3S060 that you are looking at do have a date code stamped on the sidewall. We move through our tire inventory pretty quickly so it's difficult to list the manufactured date since it will likely be quickly inaccurate as those tires get shipped out and new ones take their place in our warehouse. Our tires are also kept safe in a temperature controlled environment. I did go out to our warehouse just to...

  • Will the Loadstar 13" Steel Wheel Fit on 10" Timbren Brake Drums?
Yes, the Loadstar ST175/80D13 Bias Trailer Tire with 13" Galvanized Wheel # AM3S060 will fit the 10" Timbren brake drum. You might see some conflicting answers and this is most likely due to either people using car wheels that would have a different offset or using aluminum wheels. The aluminum wheels are thicker and therefore have a smaller diameter inside the hub area.

Manufacturers have gone away from the "letter" size that you have to the more common "metric" sizing. Do note that this tire only has a 1,100lb weight capacity as it is a load range B. The wheel has the same 5 on 4-1/2" lug pattern that you have.

For a spare that you could use for your trailer that has 175/80-13 tire size the part # AM3S060 would work really well. It's the correct bolt pattern and tire size and is pre mounted like you wanted. Trailer wheels are not typically balanced though so it is not balanced. This is a steel wheel setup that would work well as we do not have an aluminum design that matches what you have.

  • Should I Get Higher Load Range Tires Than Needed
The higher load range tires, part # AM31242 that you looked at, really won't help or hurt you. They don't protect any better against nails or anything else that can damage them compared to lower rated tires like part # AM3S060 and you certainly don't need the extra capacity. On the other hand the flexing of a tire doesn't have much bearing on the quality of your ride. Sure it'll have some but your suspension should take up most of that. If it were me I'd likely go with the D rated tires...

As long as you have clearance it shouldn't be an issue. You need 4 or more inches from the top of the tire to the fender to not interfere with suspension components.
