Durable Acrylic Enamel Finish
This wheel has a durable acrylic enamel finish on the front. The finish is applied after the wheel goes through an environmentally safe zinc phosphate pre-treatment and is coated with an e-coat primer layer. Compared to powder coat finishes, this finish resists getting chipped from flying road debris or scraped from hitting a curb for a longer period of time. These acrylic enamel wheels performed for more than 1,000 hours in salt spray tests.
The automotive-rated center disc is raised and the stud holes are beveled and uncoated for better clamp force retention. This technology helps the wheel stay tight against your hub without the need for constant retightening.
Determining the Bolt Pattern
The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.
To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: "5 on 4-1/2" means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)
On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: "8 on 6-1/2" means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)
Measuring the distance from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

Jeff: Hello, everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're going to take a look at this Vesper 15 inch by five inch silver modular steel trailer wheel with the five on four and a half inch bolt pattern. Now this is a steel wheel. It has the modular design. And by that we mean it has the round holes all the way around the wheel.
It's very sturdy and rust resistant. They do use a nice silver acrylic enamel finish to resist chipping and other damage that are then the powder coat finishes. This does go through a three step finishing process, which will first include a zinc phosphate pretreatment, then an eco primer, and then the silver acrylic enamel finish over the wheel. This does give excellent corrosion resistance, has a salt spray rating of more than 1000 hours. Now, this wheel does use the ITR technology, which stands for improved torque retention. It is designed to help keep your wheel securely in place on your trailer.
It uses the uncoated stud holes that are beveled to give you better clamp force retention. If you notice they do include the valve stem. This wheel does meet the SAE-J 1204 standards. A few specs on this, the wheel, if we measure the diameter, it's always going to be measured inside the inside. You don't want to measure edge to edge.
It's always bead seat to bead seat. So if we take our tape measure and if we go bead seat to bead seat, you can see there's your 15 inch diameter. The width will be the same way. It's bead seat to bead seat or inside to inside. It's going to be right at five inches wide.
Now, the bolt pattern on this wheel is a five on four and a half inch bolt pattern. And if you want to measure that on a wheel, that's an odd number of lugs. In this case, it's five. You just pick any hole. Let's say this one and you'll measure across to either one of these holes. When you measure it, it's from the center of the starting hole to the furthest edge of whichever hole you measured to. On this one, it'll measure four and a half inches. So it's a five lug, four and a half inch bolt pattern. It does use a wheel lug size of a half inch by 20. Weight capacity on this wheel is 2,160 pounds. And the last measurement is the pilot hole diameter. This is the large hole. It goes over the hub on your trailer. Diameter of this opening is 3.19 inches. But that should do it for the review on this Vesper, 15 inch by five inch silver mod steel trailer wheel with the five on four and a half inch bolt pattern.

I just received my rims and am very satisfied with them. They were priced better at etrailers than anywhere else. I have a feeling I will be shopping with them again
Great. Nice rim. Very strong.

These wheels do fit an 8 lug Dana 70 axel with a 6.5" bolt pattern on a 1968 Ford dually with drum brakes. Seems the internet gave me a runaround with many messages saying "they will not work!" The only downside is there is no interlocking for hub to hub, like my Ford rims with raised and depressed lug holes. However, I'm running singles for the time being, so for me there is no issue.

This wheel was supposed to have a 4.77" center bore. The one they sent is a 4.90" center bore. I was told by the factory not to use anything but a 4.77" or my studs will break off of the Dexter axle. I have not heard back yet on what etrailer can do.
