Platinum Plus Warranty with Roadside Assistance

This tire-and-wheel assembly comes with a Platinum Plus warranty that includes complimentary roadside assistance for 2 years. If your trailer has a flat tire, call the help line and a technician will come change out the flat tire with your existing inflated spare tire. The service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. In addition to the roadside assistance, this warranty also includes other benefits and services.

Corrosion-Resistant Finish

The steel wheel goes through a 3-step finishing process that makes it both attractive and corrosion resistant. The wheel is first submerged in a zinc phosphate bath to ensure good paint adhesion. It is then e-coated with an acrylic primer base and the outboard side is finished with baked-on DuPont powder paint. The light e-coat on the inboard side of the wheel reduces friction between the wheel and your hub and eliminates the flaking that can occur with a heavily applied paint finish.

Improved Torque Retention Technology

Beveled Stud Holes Front and Back

The automotive-rated center disc is raised and the stud holes are beveled and uncoated for better clamp force retention. This technology helps the wheel stay tight against your hub without the need for constant retightening.

Taskmaster Radials

Taskmaster radials have double polyester cords and double steel belts for increased durability and endurance. A protective layer of nylon is wrapped around the steel belts to help prevent tread separation. Taskmaster radials are bake tested - a process usually reserved for automotive tires - to ensure that the rubber holds up over time.

Radial tire vs bias tire graphic

The standard tread on this tire has solid, continuous ribs, and there are very few sipes (or thin grooves) cut into the rubber. This tire is designed for use on trailers, so it doesn't require the level of traction that would be needed on a vehicle that is braking or steering.

Radial Tires vs. Bias Tires

Radial tire vs bias tire graphic

Radial ply tires are designed for trailers that are towed on the highway. The cords on a radial tire are positioned at a 90-degree angle to the direction of travel so that they lay across the width of the tire from wheel lip to wheel lip. This construction prevents the cords from rubbing against one another when the tire flexes, unlike the cords on a bias ply tire. As a result, radial tires have less rolling resistance and heat buildup, which leads to a longer tread life and improved steering at higher speeds.

Determining the Bolt Pattern

The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.

Bolt Pattern - Odd

To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: "5 on 4-1/2" means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)

Bolt Pattern - Even

On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: "8 on 6-1/2" means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)

Bolt Pattern - Side

Measuring the distance from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

  • If D = 2-5/8", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2"
  • If D = 2-3/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-3/4"
  • If D = 3", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5"
  • If D = 3-1/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5-1/2"

  • 5.30-12 Radial Trailer Tire With 5 on 4-1/2 Bolt Pattern for Highway Use
We do have one option for a 5.30-12 radial trailer tire and wheel with a 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern that has the speed rating you are looking for, with that option being tires from Taskmaster. These are load range C tires with a 1,050 lb capacity per tire and an 81 mph speed rating. They are available with three different wheel types: - Taskmaster 5.30R12 Radial Trailer Tire with 12" Silver Mod Wheel # TA48RR - Taskmaster 5.30R12 Radial Trailer Tire with 12" White Spoke Wheel # TA78RR -...

  • Does Larger Size Trailer Tire Need to be Used for Highway Use
As long as there is room inside your fenders the Kenda 5.30-12 Bias Trailer Tire with 12" Galvanized Wheel # AM30850 will work just fine for your trip. It isn't as much about the size of the tire as it is just making sure they aren't overloaded and the max speed rating isn't exceeded. This combo has a load range C (1,045 lbs at 80 psi) and a 65 mph speed rating. The bigger tire (5.30-12) is about 1-1/2" larger in diameter and 1" wider than your current tires. Make sure that you will have...

  • Can 4.80-12 Size Tire be Replaced with a 5.30-12 Size Tire
Most likely you can. You just need to make sure you have enough clearance under your fenders and between the sidewall and trailer since the 5.30-12 is about 1-1/2 inches larger in diameter and 1-1/2 inches wider. Make sure you have at least 3 to 4 inches under the fender and 1 to 2 inches from the sidewall to any part of the trailer. I noticed you looked at a bias tire, part # AM30820. One thing I recommend is that if most of your towing is on highways is to go with a radial. Part...

  • Replacement for 5.30 -12 Trailer Tires
The 5.30 -12 Trailer Tires we offer vary in width between 5.4" and 5.5" depending on the manufacturer. The correct replacement will be based on load range. I recommend the Taskmaster 5.30R12 Radial Trailer Tire part # TT53012C which is 5.4" wide and has a load range c rating suited for use up to 1,050 lbs. This is actually the only radial tire in this size which means the tires will run cooler and last longer when compared to bias ply tires. If you are looking for a wheel/tire combo, the...

  • Upgrading Tires on Ultra-Tow 5 x 8 Aluminum Utility Trailer With Higher Speed Rating
The Taskmaster 5.30R12 Radial Trailer Tire part # TT53012C would be a great addition to a Ultra-Tow 5' x 8' Aluminum Utility Trailer. It has an 81 mph speed rating so you will not have any issues at highway speeds. It is also just a really great, quality trailer tire options so I m sure you'll be happy. If you want a wheel/tire combo, the Taskmaster 5.30R12 Radial Trailer Tire w/ 12" White Spoke Wheel part # TA78RR would have the same tire as the above.

  • Replacement Tires For Utility Trailer With Carlisle 5.30-12 Tires
Yes, you need to change your tires on your utility trailer. I recommend using the # TT53012C to replace your Carlisle tires. Typically I do not recommend using tires older than 5 years old especially if they have sat outside for that amount of time. The sun and elements will rot the tread on the tire and while your tires might still hold air the tread will likely separate from the tire carcass if you were to drive on them being 16 years old. Do be sure to also change the spare tire if you...

  • Upgraded 5.30x12 Tires with Higher Speed Rating for Palomino Filly Pop Up Camper
In order to obtain a higher speed rating for your trailer I recommend using the Taskmaster 5.30R12 Radial Trailer Tire part # TT53012C which has a speed rating of 81 mph so you'll be plenty capable of traveling at highway speed. This is a radial ply tire so it's best used on highways and runs cooler while doing so. It has a class c rating suited for use up to 1,050 lbs and it has a two year warranty. Please note, we also offer this tire with a pre-mounted wheel, the Taskmaster 5.30R12...

  • What is the Speed Rating of the Kenda 5.30-12 Bias Trailer Tire Load Range D
The Kenda 5.30-12 Bias Trailer Tire with 12" White Wheel part # AM30859 does have a speed rating and it is 65 mph. I do have a higher rated option for you but this assembly comes with a bias ply tire and these typically don't have very high speed ratings. In order to obtain an 80 mph speed rating you would need to use the Taskmaster 5.30R12 Radial Trailer Tire w/ 12" White Spoke Wheel part # TA78RR. However, this tire only has a load range C rating which is 200 lbs less than the above....

  • Radial Trailer Tire and Wheel with Speed Rating Higher Than 65 MPH
You didn't say the tire size you need but you looked at a 145/80-12 size tire. We have similar sizes with a higher speed rating but all of our 145/80-12 size tires have a 65 mph speed rating. Instead, take a look at a 5.30-12 or a 4.80-12 size tire. The former is about a half inch larger in diameter and the latter is about an inch smaller. You also didn't specify a wheel type or bolt pattern. The one you asked from was a 4 on 4 bolt pattern. All of our tire and wheel combos of those...
