Platinum Plus Warranty with Roadside Assistance

This tire-and-wheel assembly comes with a Platinum Plus warranty that includes complimentary roadside assistance for 2 years. If your trailer has a flat tire, call the help line and a technician will come change out the flat tire with your existing inflated spare tire. The service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. In addition to the roadside assistance, this warranty also includes other benefits and services.

Corrosion-Resistant Finish

The steel wheel goes through a 3-step finishing process that makes it both attractive and corrosion resistant. The wheel is first submerged in a zinc phosphate bath to ensure good paint adhesion. It is then e-coated with an acrylic primer base and the outboard side is finished with baked-on DuPont powder paint. The light e-coat on the inboard side of the wheel reduces friction between the wheel and your hub and eliminates the flaking that can occur with a heavily applied paint finish.

Improved Torque Retention Technology

Beveled Stud Holes Front and Back

The automotive-rated center disc is raised and the stud holes are beveled and uncoated for better clamp force retention. This technology helps the wheel stay tight against your hub without the need for constant retightening.

Provider Radials

Provider radials are constructed with double polyester cords and double steel belts for increased durability and endurance. A protective layer of nylon is wrapped around the steel belts to help prevent tread separation. Provider radials are bake tested - a process usually reserved for automotive tires - to ensure that the rubber holds up over time.

Radial Tires vs. Bias Tires

Radial tire vs bias tire graphic

Radial ply tires are designed for trailers that are towed on the highway. The cords on a radial tire are positioned at a 90-degree angle to the direction of travel so that they lay across the width of the tire from wheel lip to wheel lip. This construction prevents the cords from rubbing against one another when the tire flexes, unlike the cords on a bias ply tire. As a result, radial tires have less rolling resistance and heat buildup, which leads to a longer tread life and improved steering at higher speeds.

Determining the Bolt Pattern

The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.

Bolt Pattern - Odd

To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: "5 on 4-1/2" means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)

Bolt Pattern - Even

On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: "8 on 6-1/2" means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)

Bolt Pattern - Side

Measuring the distance from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

  • If D = 2-5/8", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2"
  • If D = 2-3/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-3/4"
  • If D = 3", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5"
  • If D = 3-1/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5-1/2"

Reasonable price, quick shipping. Tires look very durable, wheels match tire weight rating, all very heavy construction.

by:

The tires were delivered on time. The product looks good.

by: 08/26/2021

Excellent customer service, had a couple wheels that had paint scuffs and the issue was taken care of promptly and a good value

by:

Old tires were Hi-Run Radials that came with purchase of enclosed trailer.
Tires I purchased will replace tires of which one had blown out this past summer. Maybe 2000 miles on tires. Have a feeling I rode over object on freeway.
New Tires are rated above what my trailer axles and trailer itself are rated for, but with Higher Rating and Stronger Construction and Increased Speed Rating they should perform for many miles, like cheap insurance.

Thanks: Phil Sr

Review from a similar Provider Spoke in Trailer Tires and Wheels

I was preparing my trailer for a road trip in a few days and on a Saturday placed an order for two of these tires on modular wheels, along with new hub assemblies, because the website indicated that this item should arrive on Tuesday. Unfortunately, I failed to notice that the delivery date only pertained to the first tire and wheel. The following day I received notice that my order would ship in about 7 days which was unacceptable for my trip timeline. I called etrailer.com Monday morning to cancel my original order and place another, but this time with tires on wagon wheels, which were confirmed to be on hand. The phone representative was amazingly friendly and cooperative in handling my situation. My new order, which also included hubs and tie-down rings, shipped that day and arrived the following day! It was only after installing the new hubs and wheel assemblies that evening that I noticed I had received one "C" and one "D" load rated tire. I called again to see if I could return the pair of mismatched tire and wheel assemblies for something similar that was available for immediate shipment and was advised that I could but would be responsible for the shipping cost ($38.99) of the one assembly that was properly fulfilled by my order. I initially agreed to those terms and placed a third order for slightly lower grade tires that would arrive in time for my trip but soon afterwards changed my mind and called back to cancel that order and arrange for a replacement of the one incorrect tire and wheel assembly. Each time I called, the etrailer representative was very courteous and eager to help resolve my problem. The replacement tire and wheel arrived a couple of days too late for my trip but I am completely satisfied with the quality and appearance of these items, having since completed a 500+ mile trip with them and experienced no problems.

Review from a similar Provider Spoke in Trailer Tires and Wheels

Wheels not painted on back side. I wanted white wheels. Paint chipped on front side where axle hole is I guess from mounting tire. Not the quality I have received in the past.

Comments
I am sorry to hear that the paint was chipped on the wheel. I will have our customer service team reach out to you. The inner side of the wheels are lightly e-coated to reduce friction and provide rust resistance with less flaking.

The wheels were neatly boxed so they didn't get scratched up or dirty. The tires are awesome looking vs my old bias plys. And i really like the tracking system that showed who was involved in the order and the detailed map showing the product's progress en route.

  • Recommended 235/85R16 Trailer Tire and Wheel With 8 on 6-1/2 Bolt Pattern
Your ST225/90D16 tires have an overall diameter of 31.9" and a width of 8.9", and the ST235/85R16 tires we have available have an overall diameter of 31.7" and a width of 9.3" so you would need to ensure your dump trailer has enough space to handle the additional width. If so, I recommend checking out the Provider # TTWA16RGWSHD which is a ST235/85R16 tire and white mod wheel with an 8 on 6-1/2" bolt pattern (if you are not certain what bolt pattern you have I have linked a help article...

  • How to Choose the Correct Tire and Wheel for a Trailer with a GVWR of 8,000 lbs
There are multiple things that go into choosing the correct tire for your trailer. How many axles you have, how much clearance you have to your fenders, and what bolt pattern your hub has all play a role in what you need. If you have a single axle on your 8,000 lb GVWR trailer then a tire/wheel combination like the ST235/85R16 Taskmaster Provider # TTWA16RGWSHD might be what you are looking for. The tire of the Provider ST235/85R16 Trailer Tire w/ 16" White Spoke Wheel # TTWA16RGWSHD that you referenced has a max PSI rating of 110 PSI so the valve stem used would be able to handle at least 110 PSI. It may not come with the exact valve stem as the one you referenced, but it would be sufficient for the tire. You should note that with trailer tires you want to have them inflated to their max PSI at all times so that you get the best tire wear and so you get the full capacity of the tire.

  • Backspacing and Offset for the Provider ST235/85R16 Trailer Tire and Wheel TTWA16RGWSHD
Trailer wheels will have a zero offset unless otherwise noted, so the backspacing of this rim would 3-1/2 inches since it is a 6 inch wide rim. To get backspacing you take width of rim, add 1 inch for mounting flange and then divide by 2.

  • Will Going to a Higher Capacity Trailer Tire Stop Blowouts on a 5th Wheel Trailer
For load range, the further the letter in the alphabet the stronger the tire in any given tire size. A stronger tire would help against blowouts because of the higher ply rating. But there are a couple of things to remember. First, going to a higher capacity tire will not increase the capacity of the trailer. And trailer tires should always be inflated to the maximum psi indicated on the tire sidewall. This is because trailer tires are built with a thicker sidewall than passenger vehicle...

  • Replacement Wheel and Tire Recommendation for 2011 Heartland 34QRSL
The wheel and tire part # TTWA16RGWSHD that you referenced would be a great choice. This Load Range G wheel and tire has a capacity of 4,400 lbs at 110 psi and a speed rating of 81 MPH. As long as you keep the tires inflated to their max (this is the only way to get their full capacity), you should be fine. These tires have a higher speed rating than most trailer tires so that will help as well since heat is what usually kills tires.

  • Wheel and Tire Recommendation for Coachman Brookstone 5th Wheel
Typically what kills trailer tires is excessive heat that is created by overloading the tires, under-inflating them, or exceeding the speed rating of the tire which is usually 65 mph. A Load Range E tire in your size of ST235/80R16 would not end up giving you enough capacity so you would need to go with a higher rated setup.
