Lionshead Roadside Assistance Program

This tire-and-wheel assembly comes with complimentary roadside assistance for 2 years. If your RV or trailer has a flat tire, call the help line and a technician will come change the flat for you. You can call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year from anywhere in the United States, Canada, or Puerto Rico.

1-Year No Excuses Guarantee

This tire has a 1-year No Excuses Guarantee. If within the first 12 months the tire is damaged in any way that's not covered by warranty, it will be replaced at no charge. You will also be compensated a flat labor rate for the cost of mounting the replacement tire.

The Nitrogen Advantage

Nitro Fill Logo

The NitroFill inflation process filters out oxygen to ensure that this tire-and-wheel assembly is filled with 95 to 99.9 percent pure nitrogen. Nitrogen-inflated tires maintain pressure better than tires inflated with standard air. This makes them ideal for RVs and trailers that are driven infrequently or sit in storage for long periods of time. Other benefits of consistent tire pressure are better fuel economy, improved braking and handling, decreased chance of tire failure, and longer tire life.

A tire inflated with standard air, which contains oxygen, is prone to fluctuations in pressure due to loss of air over time and ambient temperature changes. Nitrogen-inflated tires don't experience these fluctuations for a couple reasons. First, nitrogen molecules are larger than oxygen molecules, so they are less likely to permeate a rubber tire. Second, nitrogen is a dry gas, so it won't allow condensation to build inside the tire. A tire inflated with standard air may have moisture in it, which means it is more likely to be affected by ambient temperature.

In addition, the moisture that can collect in a tire inflated with standard air will contribute to corrosion of the wheel and deterioration of the rubber tire from the inside out. A nitrogen-inflated tire-and-wheel assembly is less likely to experience this type of decay. Less moisture in the tire also means reduced running temperatures.

If necessary, you can top off the tire with standard compressed air. But to maintain the benefits of nitrogen, the tire must be refilled with nitrogen.

Beveled Stud Holes

Beveled Stud Holes Front and Back

The stud holes on this steel wheel are beveled to ensure that the wheel stays tight against your trailer hub. This also eliminates the need to constantly retorque the lug nuts.

Westlake Radials

This radial ply tire from Westlake is constructed with double steel belts and double polyester cords for increased durability. A protective layer of nylon is wrapped around the steel belts to help prevent tread separation.

Westlake Standard Tread Close-Up

The standard tread on this tire has solid, continuous ribs, and there are very few sipes (or thin grooves) cut into the rubber. This tire is designed for use on trailers, so it doesn't require the level of traction that would be needed on a vehicle that is braking or steering.

Radial Tires vs. Bias Tires

Radial tire vs bias tire graphic

Radial ply tires are designed for trailers that are towed on the highway. The cords on a radial tire are positioned at a 90-degree angle to the direction of travel so that they lay across the width of the tire from wheel lip to wheel lip. This construction prevents the cords from rubbing against one another when the tire flexes, unlike the cords on a bias ply tire. As a result, radial tires have less rolling resistance and heat buildup, which leads to a longer tread life and improved steering at higher speeds.

Determining the Bolt Pattern

The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.

Bolt Pattern - Odd

To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: "5 on 4-1/2" means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)

Bolt Pattern - Even

On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: "8 on 6-1/2" means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)

Bolt Pattern - Side

Measuring the distance from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

  • If D = 2-5/8", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2"
  • If D = 2-3/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-3/4"
  • If D = 3", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5"
  • If D = 3-1/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5-1/2"

Excellent wheels, they serve as a good replacements for 70’s model Airstreams wheels.

My only complaint is that I received 3/4 of my order, and I’m responding to the email that states my order was delivered. short a wheel. Please help

by:

I wasn’t sure how to find a spare tire for my boat trailer. Between the help on the web site and Danielle’s guidance, I received the correct tire the first time! The shipping was fast (3 days) and the product looks very nice.

by:

Tire and rim are both excellent quality. However I have never seen a grayer muddier looking silver rim. Gray metallic gunmetal would be a better description of the color. Still just got two of these for spare tires.

by:

Ordering the right tire was made simple on the website. Wheel arrived 2 data earlier than expected and was exactly as I needed. I saved $200 compared to a local tire shop.

by:

Ashley in customer service is Awesome she done everything for me that I asked about. Great job and Thank you. As far as the tire and wheel they look very nice, I don't have them installed yet but I'm sure they will be awesome. Good people seem to work there. The tracking was different than I have ever experienced from UPS but the tires made it here so I'm not complaining. Great job to every one involved.Thank you and I will use you all again.

by:

Tire with rim arrived quickly packaged in cardboard for protection. Will be used as a spare for my boat trailer.

by:

Very simple process with quick delivery times! I was very pleased doing business with etrailer

by:

Fast shipping and good price. Only reasons for 3 stars is that the wheel arrived with some scratches and chips in in the paint, could be from the manufacturer or the shipping company. The second reason for 3 stars is I bought it for a spare on my 5th wheel so I can’t just the durability and performance, hopefully I won’t have to.

by:

They shipped on time but I took them down tire store and all 4 rims are bent. Not noticeable just looking at them but once we put them on balance machine you could see the up and down movement quite a bit. They definitely look good and have nice tread but I also notice that they are already a year old with tire date. Not sure on how the pull yet but I’ll try them out later date.

by:

Tire is exactly what I needed. Arrived quickly and in perfect condition. I look forward to using e-Trailer again.
Thank you for a great experience.

by:

Excellent purchase my spare wheel and tire showed up in two days as always it is great dealing with etrailer with excellent service and fast shipping thanks

by:

Tire and Wheel look good on the new hub conversion. Went from a old 4 bolt Dayton hub to a new 6 bolt hub. Conversion was super easy! Takes a lot of stress off me going down the road!

by:

This tire and wheel were delivered as advertised and at a fair price. It was no better or worse than any other tire and wheel from another vendor. The difference was the customer service. Ashley was friendly, knowledgeable and articulate. Something woefully missing from other companies. She has secured my continued business.

by:

Customer service is the best! We had questions and they were answered with someone knowing what they were doing. I recommend Etrailer we will be purchasing from them again soon!

Comments
Its been a year since we purchased the tires. They are doing great! It seems like they will last longer than the original ones. Thanks!!

etrailer always comes through ships fast and always on time highly recommend!!

by:

Great quality rim and tire

by:

A prime example of pathetic offshore junk. I always balance my trailer tires, which reduces suspension component wear, but the tire tech showed me how out-of-round both the tires and the wheel / rims were. I was short on time and had to make a trip so couldn't address the issue then. The trailer bounced annoyingly. During the trip, one of the wheels started leaking air through the STEEL and had to be replaced!!! It drives me crazy paying hard earned money for junk that doesn't last.

Comments
This comes with a 5 year warranty on the tire and a 1 year warranty on the wheel, so any manufacturing defects will be covered under that. Our customer service team can talk to you about this. Actually, the vast majority of trailer tires are made overseas. Although, we do have Goodyear tires that are made domestically. You can use this Goodyear tire 724857519 and this Dexstar wheel AM20539.

Tires and rims are great. Price is right on and delivery on target.

Yea..... It's just a dump trailer... but there is no greater relief than to have a great tire that will not be smoking on the highway when it goes flat from Roofing nails!

by:

Exact matching spare for my snake river trailer. Excellent communication and fast shipping!

by:

great wheels and tires!!

by:

Product was exactly what was shown. It matched what i have on my trailer and was what i wanted as i travel twice a year to bring my daughter to college. I wanted the same tire and rim so all tires wear and travel the same as it is 1000 miles each way. The tires get a lot of long distance use.

Comments
The trailer is coming out of storage from the winter. I have 4000 miles on them so far so good.Getting ready soon to travel again to get my daughter. Hopefully the trip will be uneventful and all will be good in the world when i travel. Great tires and rims will definitely buy more when i need them.

by:

Quick delivery and just what I ordered, Thanks!!

by:

Great quality, timely shipping/delivery. Only thing that would make this purchase better, the tire/rim packages being balanced. I had to go to discount tire and have them balanced. I know that sounds petty but you wanted an honest opinion.

by:

I installed Westlake tires on my 21ft toy hauler last spring and they have been great! I had Power King tires on it before and it seemed like I had a blow out every other trip. ~2,000 miles on them so far and look forward to another worry free season. Shipping was fast with no issues.

by:

Tire/wheel arrived on time in a nice sturdy box. Much better than the loose tires I have received from other retailers.
This wheel tire combo appears to be an exact match for the ones that came on my Hawke dump trailer, right down the green valve stem caps.
This should allow me to rotate this one in with the tires already on the trailer.

  • Will Higher Load Range Trailer Tires Require Higher-Pressure Valve Stems
If your current valve stems do not have the pressure capacity required by new special trailer tires then you will also need to replace those when you upgrade from a LR-C tire to a LR-E tire. Increasing a tire's load range rating is one way to potentially help avoid tire failures, but the keys to keeping special trailer tires in good shape are the basics: never operate them at an incorrect psi pressure rating; never operate them at a higher speed than their rating; and never overload them...

You currently have bias ply tire based on the letter D in your tire size ST225/75D15 and the other size you mentioned is a radial based on the R in the size. Ideally you run the same construction style for all tires including the spare but in an emergency situation you could use a radial to replace a bias ply. I recommend that you replace the old 7.00-15 LT trailer tires with the Westlake ST225/75R15 Radial Trailer Tire part # LHAW124 as long as you have the clearance. I recommend this because the Westlake trailer tire is a radial tire and all of the 7.00-15 LT we sell are bias trailer tires. Bias tires are an older design and have a stiffer sidewall than a radial. We like to keep our prices pretty competitive. We recommend that trailer tires be replaced every 6 or 7 years regardless of how worn they are. Tires break down over time just from being exposed to the elements like sunlight and saltwater.
