This tire-and-wheel assembly comes with complimentary roadside assistance for 2 years. If your RV or trailer has a flat tire, call the help line and a technician will come change the flat for you. You can call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year from anywhere in the United States, Canada, or Puerto Rico.
This tire has a 1-year No Excuses Guarantee. If within the first 12 months the tire is damaged in any way that's not covered by warranty, it will be replaced at no charge. You will also be compensated a flat labor rate for the cost of mounting the replacement tire.
This radial ply tire from Westlake is constructed with double steel belts and double polyester cords for increased durability. A protective layer of nylon is wrapped around the steel belts to help prevent tread separation.
The standard tread on this tire has solid, continuous ribs, and there are very few sipes (or thin grooves) cut into the rubber. This tire is designed for use on trailers, so it doesn't require the level of traction that would be needed on a vehicle that is braking or steering.
Radial ply tires are designed for trailers that are towed on the highway. The cords on a radial tire are positioned at a 90-degree angle to the direction of travel so that they lay across the width of the tire from wheel lip to wheel lip. This construction prevents the cords from rubbing against one another when the tire flexes, unlike the cords on a bias ply tire. As a result, radial tires have less rolling resistance and heat buildup, which leads to a longer tread life and improved steering at higher speeds.
Determining the Bolt Pattern
The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.
To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: "5 on 4-1/2" means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)
On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: "8 on 6-1/2" means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)
Measuring the distance from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

Hello, everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at this Westlake ST 225/75R15 Radial Trailer Tire in a Load Range E, and it's mounted on this 15 inch Gunmetal Gray Margay Series Aluminum Wheel with the six on five and a half inch bolt pattern. Now this tire and wheel assembly is ideal for RVs, campers, and trailers. The wheel is an aluminum wheel. It's durable, lightweight, and rust-proof.
And we mentioned it's a Margay Series, which you can see is a six spoke design. And if you notice, the edge of the spokes, and in the outer lip has a nice machine finish to it to give it a nice shine to the wheel. They do use an automotive grade clear coat finish on the front to protect the wheel from scuffs and scratches. A few dimensions on the wheel itself. The diameter of the wheel is 15 inches.
The width on just the wheel is six inches wide. Bolt pattern on this wheel is a six on five and a half inch bolt pattern. And if you wanna measure that on the wheel that's an even number of lugs, like in this case six, it's pretty simple because if you notice, the lug holes are directly across from each other. So what I have to do is pick any lug hole. And then when you measure it, just measure from the center of that lug hole directly across to the center of the hole right across from it.
On this one, it'll measure five and a half inches. So that'll tell you this is a six lug, five and a half inch bolt pattern. It does use a wheel lug size of a half inch by 20. And the weight capacity on just the wheel is 2,830 pounds. Now if you notice, this wheel does not have a center cap.
If you do want a center cap, we do sell those separately on our website. When you did a center cap, you do need to get one that has the same diameter as this pilot hole. Because when you put in your center cap, it'll go through this hole, put it in through the rear, and it'll hold in place. So when you get a center cap, you wanna make sure it has the same diameter, which on this pilot hole, is 4.25 inches. The tire that's on this wheel is a Westlake Radial Tire. It is constructed with double steel belts, double polyester ply for a nice, long life. They do use a nylon tread firming belt overlay to help prevent tread separation. And it is a radial ply tire so it's great for highway use. This tire is also an ST tire, which stands for Special Trailer tire. That means it has the sturdy sidewalls so that it can handle heavy loads. So it is created specifically for trailers, that's not intended for use on other vehicles. The tire size, which will be stamped on the sidewall, right here you'll see "ST," for "Special Trailer," 225/75R15. The R means it's a radial tire. Section width, 8.8 inches. Overall diameter from the bottom to the top when it's inflated, it's 28.3. This tire is a load range E, which means it's a 10 ply rated tire. Has a maximum load capacity of 2,830 pounds at 80 PSI. Now this tire and wheel assembly does meet the DOT, Department of Transportation, specifications. It also has a speed rating. The speed rating on it is labeled on the sidewall by a letter designation. And where you'll find that is right after the tire size, you'll see two numbers for the load index, and then the letter L. Speed rating L will mean this has a 75 mile per hour speed rating. They do offer a complimentary roadside assistance for two years, and a flat tire service is available 24/7 anywhere in the US, Canada, or Puerto Rico. But that's gonna do it for the review on this Westlake 225/75R15 Radial Trailer Tire in a Load Range E, mounted on this 15 inch Gunmetal Gray Margay Series Aluminum Wheel with a six on five and a half inch bolt pattern.
