This tire-and-wheel assembly comes with complimentary roadside assistance for 2 years. If your RV or trailer has a flat tire, call the help line and a technician will come change the flat for you. You can call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year from anywhere in the United States, Canada, or Puerto Rico.
This tire has a 1-year No Excuses Guarantee. If within the first 12 months the tire is damaged in any way that's not covered by warranty, it will be replaced at no charge. You will also be compensated a flat labor rate for the cost of mounting the replacement tire.
This aluminum wheel comes with steel inserts in the lug nut wells. The inserts are pressed into the aluminum, and they help prevent the holes from wearing down over time. This ensures that the wheel stays secured to your trailer hub and that you won't have to constantly retorque the lug nuts.
This radial ply tire from Westlake is constructed with double steel belts and double polyester cords for increased durability. A protective layer of nylon is wrapped around the steel belts to help prevent tread separation.
The standard tread on this tire has solid, continuous ribs, and there are very few sipes (or thin grooves) cut into the rubber. This tire is designed for use on trailers, so it doesn't require the level of traction that would be needed on a vehicle that is braking or steering.
Radial ply tires are designed for trailers that are towed on the highway. The cords on a radial tire are positioned at a 90-degree angle to the direction of travel so that they lay across the width of the tire from wheel lip to wheel lip. This construction prevents the cords from rubbing against one another when the tire flexes, unlike the cords on a bias ply tire. As a result, radial tires have less rolling resistance and heat buildup, which leads to a longer tread life and improved steering at higher speeds.
Determining the Bolt Pattern
The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.
To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: "5 on 4-1/2" means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)
On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: "8 on 6-1/2" means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)
Measuring the distance from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

Hello, everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at this Westlake ST225/75R15 Radial Trailer Tire in a Load Range E, and it's mounted on this 15" Matte Black Eagle Series Aluminum Wheel. It has a 6 on 5-1/2" bolt pattern. Now, this tire wheel assembly is ideal for your RV or camper or your trailer. The wheel is an aluminum wheel.
It's very durable, lightweight, and rustproof. And, we mentioned, this is the Eagle Series, which you can see is a multi-spoke design. It has a complete matte black finish on it on the front and even on the back of the wheel. Now, on the front, they do use an automotive grade clear coat finish to protect the wheel from scuffs and scratches. Now, one of the nice features I like on this wheel is the steel inserts right here that they install in the lug nut wells, and that's designed to help keep the wheel securely in place on your trailer hub.
Basically, when you put this onto your hub, slide it over the wheel studs, put your lug nuts on, and then when you go to torque 'em down, those inserts will prevent the holes from elongating or wearing down, so it eliminates the need for constant re-tightening of your lug nuts. A few measurements on the wheel itself, the diameter is 15", the width is, just the wheel, is 6" wide. Now, the wheel does have a bolt pattern of 6 on 5-1/2". And if you wanna measure that on a wheel like this one, that's an even number of lugs. In this case, six.
It's pretty easy, 'cause if you look at the lug holes, they're directly across from each other, so when you go to measure it, all you have to do is pick any one of the holes, let's say this one, and measure from the center of this hole directly across to the center of the hole across from it. So, on this wheel it'll measure 5-1/2", so that means it's a 6 on 5-1/2" bolt pattern. It does use a wheel lug size of a 1/2' by 20. Weight capacity on just the wheel is 2,830 pounds. Now, if you notice, it does not include a center cap.
If you do want a center cap, we do sell those separately on our website. What you wanna make sure is when you get your center cap, you need to order the correct diameter center cap, so it'll fit into this pilot hole diameter, so when you install your cap, it'll install through this hole. The diameter on this pilot hole is 4.25". Now, the tire that's on this is a Westlake Radial Tire. This tire is constructed with double steel belts, double polyester plies for a nice long life. They do use a nylon tread firming belt overlay to help prevent tread separation. And it is a radial applied tire, so it's great for highway use. It is also an ST Tire, so it means it's a special trailer tire. It has sturdy sidewall so we can handle heavy loads, means it's created specifically for trailers. It's not intended for use on other vehicles. Now, the tire size, which will be stamped on the sidewall, you can see right here, "ST," we mentioned, for special trailer, 225/75R15. "R" means it's a radial tire. Section width on this, 8.8 inches. Overall diameter, 28.3. This tire is a low range E, which means it's a 10-ply radial tire. It has a maximum load capacity of 2,830 pounds at 80 PSI. And this tire wheel assembly does meet the DOT, Department of Transportation, specifications. I also wanna mention that the tires now come with speed ratings on 'em, and it's designated by a letter designation. And where you'll find that is right after the tire size we went over. You'll see two numbers and then the letter "L." Speed rating L will mean this has a 75-mile-per-hour speed rating. Now, they do offer complimentary roadside assistance for two years. Flat tire service is available 24/7 anywhere in the U.S., Canada, or Puerto Rico. But that's gonna do it for the review on this West Lake ST225/75R15 Radial Trailer Tire in a Load Range E, mounted on this 15" Matte Black Eagle Series Aluminum Wheel with the 6 on 5-1/2" bolt pattern.
