This tire-and-wheel assembly comes with complimentary roadside assistance for 2 years. If your RV or trailer has a flat tire, call the help line and a technician will come change the flat for you. You can call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year from anywhere in the United States, Canada, or Puerto Rico.
This tire has a 1-year No Excuses Guarantee. If within the first 12 months the tire is damaged in any way that's not covered by warranty, it will be replaced at no charge. You will also be compensated a flat labor rate for the cost of mounting the replacement tire.
This aluminum wheel comes with steel inserts in the lug nut wells. The inserts are pressed into the aluminum, and they help prevent the holes from wearing down over time. This ensures that the wheel stays secured to your trailer hub and that you won't have to constantly retorque the lug nuts.
This radial ply tire from Westlake is constructed with double steel belts and double polyester cords for increased durability. A protective layer of nylon is wrapped around the steel belts to help prevent tread separation.
The standard tread on this tire has solid, continuous ribs, and there are very few sipes (or thin grooves) cut into the rubber. This tire is designed for use on trailers, so it doesn't require the level of traction that would be needed on a vehicle that is braking or steering.
Radial ply tires are designed for trailers that are towed on the highway. The cords on a radial tire are positioned at a 90-degree angle to the direction of travel so that they lay across the width of the tire from wheel lip to wheel lip. This construction prevents the cords from rubbing against one another when the tire flexes, unlike the cords on a bias ply tire. As a result, radial tires have less rolling resistance and heat buildup, which leads to a longer tread life and improved steering at higher speeds.
Determining the Bolt Pattern
The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.
To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: "5 on 4-1/2" means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)
On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: "8 on 6-1/2" means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)
Measuring the distance from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're take a look at this Westlake ST 205 75R 14 radial trailer tire in a load range D out on this 14 inch gun metal gray eagle aluminum wheel with the five on four and a half inch bolt pattern. Now this tire and wheel assembly is ideal for RVs, campers, and trailers. The wheel we mentioned it is an aluminum wheel. It's very durable, lightweight, and rustproof. And it is an Eagle Series, which you can see is a split five spoke design in a gun metal gray finish.
And if you look on the edge of the spokes, has a nice machine face on those to give it a nice shine. They do use an automotive grade clear coat finish on the front to help protect the wheel from scuffs and scratches. The nice feature I like on this wheel is the steel lug, the steel inserts here and the lug nut wells. These are designed to help keep your wheels securely in place on the trailer hub. So basically what happens is when you install this onto the hub, your studs come through there, you put your lug nuts on there and torque 'em down.
And what those inserts do is it prevents those holes from wearing down or elongating, eliminates the need for constant retightening of your lug nuts. Now the wheel, the diameter on the wheel is 14 inches. The width on just the wheel is five inches wide. Bolt pattern on this wheel is a five on four and a half inch bolt pattern. And if you wanna measure the bolt pattern on a wheel, that's an odd number of lugs.
Like in this one, it's a five lug, so they don't line up right across from each other. So when you go to measure, what you have to do is pick any hole, let's say this one, and then you're gonna measure from this hole either to this one or this hole. But when you measure it from the center of the starting hole to the furthest edge of whichever hole you measure to. So on this one it'll measure four and a half inches. So that means it's a five on four and a half inch bolt pattern.
The wheel lug size this uses is a half inch by 20, weight capacity on just the wheel is 2,200 pounds. If you notice, this does not come with the center cap. If you do want the center cap, we do sell those separately. What you wanna do is make sure to get a center cap that has the same diameter as this pilot hole right here. 'cause when you install your center cap, it will go through this hole. The diameter on this is 3.19 inches. Now the tire that's on this is a Westlake radial tire, so it's constructed with double steel belts, double polyester ply. They also use a nylon tread firming belt overlay to help prevent tread separation. And this is a radial ply tire, so it is great for highway use. This is also an ST tire, which stands for Special Trailer tire. It has this sturdy sidewall so they can handle heavy loads. It is created specifically for trailers. It's not intended for use on other vehicles. Now the tire size, which you can get off the sidewall, it's stamped on the sidewall, ST for special trailer 205 75R 14, R means it's a radial, section width eight inches. Overall diameter bottom to the top when it's inflated, it's 26.1. This tire is a load range D, which means it's an eight ply rated tire. So it has a maximum load capacity of 2040 pounds at 65 PSI. And this assembly does meet the DOT, Department of Transportation specifications. Also, I do wanna mention that they do offer a speed rating on the tire and it's stamped on the sidewall, but it is stamped with a letter designation. And where that's at is right after the tire size we just went over. You'll see two numbers for the load index and then you'll see the letter L. Letter L will mean that it's a 75 mile per hour speed rating. Now they do offer complimentary roadside assistance for two years and flat tire services available 24/7, anywhere in the US, Canada, or Puerto Rico. But that should do it for the review on the Westlake ST 205 75R 14 radial trailer tire in a load range D mounted on a 14 inch gunmetal gray Eagle aluminum wheel.
