Westlake Radials

This radial ply tire from Westlake is constructed with double steel belts and double polyester cords for increased durability. A protective later of nylon is wrapped around the steel belts to help prevent tread separation.

Unlike standard trailer tire tread, this deep, rugged tread channels water away so that the tire makes better contact with the road. This greatly improves traction during wet, snowy, or icy conditions. Because of this, the tire is specifically designed for off-roading on uneven terrain such as mud, sand, and grass, although it performs well on highways and other paved roads as well.

Radial Tires vs. Bias Tires

Radial tire vs bias tire graphic

Radial ply tires are designed for trailers that are towed on the highway. The cords on a radial tire are positioned at a 90-degree angle to the direction of travel so that they lay across the width of the tire from wheel lip to wheel lip. This construction prevents the cords from rubbing against one another when the tire flexes, unlike the cords on a bias ply tire. As a result, radial tires have less rolling resistance and heat buildup, which leads to a longer tread life and improved steering at higher speeds.

I received these tires ontime and when promised. They are of good quality, & were not a pair of tires that were sitting around in storage for a long time. I waited to review them until I had them installed on my Trailer. I'm very satisfied with their ride.
The original tires on my 2021 Geo Pro 20BHS, which we picked up in June 2020, were the same brand and tire model except they were only a Load Range 'C' tire. I will continue to order Trailer parts & accessories from etrailer, they are a good company to deal with.

by:

Not many people like these tire. I personally have over 25,000 miles on mine and they are still going. Only reason I purchased 2 more is due to an axle falling off my trailer causing 2 tires to flat spot.

by:

These are great tires. I was fortunate to have them come with my camper when I bought it. When it came time to replacing the tires, I knew which ones I wanted. Yes, they are pricier than others but they're great wearing, long lasting tires and worth it. I was amazed at how quickly etrailer.com got these to me, also. I've never does business with them before but I will in the future when the need arises.

Was a little nervous buying tires online and having them delivered to installer v. to me. But, everything worked great and these guys really came through for me because nobody locally could come up with what I needed. I'd do this again without a doubt.

by:

I leave in Canada (Montréal) and this tire is not avalable OEM or tire shop. Order to etrailer and i receved my tire 4day later.Easy transaction and thé traking tool work very well.

by:

A little pricey for a trailer tire, but excellent quality. The one we're replacing was under extreme stress due to a broken leaf spring while traveling down a freeway at 65mph but, while the tread was chewed up a bit, continued on with no problem.

by:

Etrailer is the best.

by:

Looked everywhere for this tire, could only find it here. Quick delivery and just what I needed.

by:

Excellent shipping. Quick delivery. Solid and great quality.

by:

Over priced but a match for the RV trailer. Great service as always!

by:

Aggressive tread perfect for off-pavement and work great on-pavement as well. Purchased to replace the same original tires that came equipped on a 2020 R-Pod RP189 after one blew out on the freeway. The original tires were manufactured in 2018 and already 1.5 years old when the trailer was originally purchased new in 2020. These new tires from e-trailer were manufactured in June 2023 and are only 3 months old and will be good for 3 years. Check the date codes on your trailer tires.

by:

Purchased these to replace existing Westlake tires on a 2021 No Boundaries travel trailer. The original tires performed well, so I found the same tires on eTrailer and ordered what I needed.

by:

Great service. VERY prompt delivery

by:

Quick turnaround!

by:

I been on several off road adventures since I purchased these tire and I'm happy with the performance.

by:

I was looking for this specific tire to replace the pair I had. The price was good, and I got free shipping that made the price a bargain. Delivery wasn't expected until Tuesday, but they arrived three days early.

by:

Although I have not had time to test the product, I am very happy with the customer service and prompt delivery of the items.

by:

Tires are great, second set on my 2016 RPOD. These were the only ST off-road trailer tires I could find. Good quality, no issues

by:

Great looking tire. Tire delivered much quicker that expected. Customer service following up during the delivery process even offered to ship alternate tire to assure the tire got here quickly.

Thank you George J.

by:

After doing research I could have bought these tires so much cheaper somewhere else. The mark up on these was huge through etrailer which means probably everything else too so my business is done with them

by:

A little expensive, but when your puling a single axel you need something you can trust, The treed life of this tire is unreal. Will buy again when needed .I liked the service of the reps at etrailer.

  • Upgrade for 235/75-15 Tires on a Travel Trailer
Ideally, you'll want the combined capacity of your tires to meet or exceed the GVWR of your trailer. If your unloaded trailer weight is 5000 lbs and the combined load capacity of your tires is 5820 lbs, you've only got about 800 lbs of remaining tire capacity for your gear/water/propane, which would explain why you're concerned about blowouts. Your current tires sound like they're not rated high enough. We don't offer a 15 inch tire that's rated higher than what you currently have,...

  • What is The Recommended Air Pressure For Westlake ST235/75R15 # WST54FR Trailer Tires?
I wish we had a magic number I could tell you Paul but we tell everyone to go with the maximum tire pressure as stated on your sidewall from the manufacturer. For the Westlake ST235/75R15 # WST54FR you were looking at it should be inflated to 65psi at all times as that is what Lionshead recommends for their tires.

Hey Jim! The Taskmaster and Westlake tires, like the Taskmaster ST235/75R15 Off-Road # TA45RR and Westlake ST235/75R15 Off-Road # WST54FR you were looking at, are made in China. A lot of people tend to shy away from trailer tires made in China but truth be told, the vast majority of trailer tires out on the road right now were manufactured in China. Out of the options you were looking at I recommend picking up the Westlake as they are the more premium brand and they back up the tire with...

Lionshead (the company that makes this wheel) makes a lot of good stuff, so I'm confident the quality is going to be great, plus the black on silver looks really clean in my opinion.

There isn't a guide to tell us what valve stem was installed on your wheels but you likely have rubber valve stems since the Westlake # WST54FR has a 65psi rating. Flow-through sensors a bit heavier and can end up waving back and forth on a rubber valve stem since they're a bit flexible. This can cause the stem to deteriorate and leak, which is why TPMS systems will note that they need to be used on metal valve stems. If you want to replace your valve stems you'll need to remove one and...

In my experience the only manufacturer who does not recommend using the maximum pressure rating at all time is Goodyear. They have a recommended pressure chart based on the amount of weight on the Endurance trailer tires.

You are correct the Westlake ST235/75R15 Radial Tire w 15" Phoenix Aluminum Wheel # LH52FR has a higher capacity tire than the wheel. This is often the case as many prefer to step up the weight capacity of the tire as they feel it helps the tire last longer. Also understand you typically will not see a 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern on an axle with a capacity over 4,000lbs so the wheels are still going to have a higher capacity then the axle they are mounted too. When it comes to tire size and clearance, you want 3" on the top for suspension travel and 1-2" of clearance from the side of the tire to the closest part of the trailer. Based on the dimensions of the # ASR2KHDS03 it looks like the distance from the center of your wheel on your hub to the trailer frame will be 8-1/2". That is assuming nothing else on the trailer will be closer. This means the width of the tire should be no more than 15" which none of our trailer tires even come close to. If...
