This tire-and-wheel assembly comes with complimentary roadside assistance for 2 years. If your RV or trailer has a flat tire, call the help line and a technician will come change the flat for you. You can call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year from anywhere in the United States, Canada, or Puerto Rico.
This tire has a 1-year No Excuses Guarantee. If within the first 12 months the tire is damaged in any way that's not covered by warranty, it will be replaced at no charge. You will also be compensated a flat labor rate for the cost of mounting the replacement tire.
This radial ply tire from Westlake is constructed with double steel belts and double polyester cords for increased durability. A protective layer of nylon is wrapped around the steel belts to help prevent tread separation.
The standard tread on this tire has solid, continuous ribs, and there are very few sipes (or thin grooves) cut into the rubber. This tire is designed for use on trailers, so it doesn't require the level of traction that would be needed on a vehicle that is braking or steering.
Radial ply tires are designed for trailers that are towed on the highway. The cords on a radial tire are positioned at a 90-degree angle to the direction of travel so that they lay across the width of the tire from wheel lip to wheel lip. This construction prevents the cords from rubbing against one another when the tire flexes, unlike the cords on a bias ply tire. As a result, radial tires have less rolling resistance and heat buildup, which leads to a longer tread life and improved steering at higher speeds.
Determining the Bolt Pattern
The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.
To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: "5 on 4-1/2" means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)
On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: "8 on 6-1/2" means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)
Measuring the distance from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

Hello, everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we'll take a look at the Westlake ST225/75R15 radial trailer tire in a Load Range E, mounted on this 15 inch glossy black Margay Series aluminum wheel with the 6 on 5 1/2 inch bolt pattern. Now, this tire wheel assembly is ideal for RVs, campers, and trailers. The wheel, it's an aluminum wheel. It's very durable, lightweight, rustproof. And we mentioned it's the Margay Series, which you can see is a six-spoke design and it's in a glossy black finish.
And if you look on the edge of the spokes and even on the outer lip, it does a machine finish to get a little bit of a shine to the wheel. They do use an automotive-grade clear coat finish on the front, helps protect the wheel from scuffs and scratches. A few dimensions on the wheel itself. The diameter is 15 inches, the width on just the wheel, six inches wide. Now this wheel does have a bolt pattern of 6 on 5 1/2 inches.
And if you wanna measure that on a wheel, that's an even number of lugs, like in this case six. It's pretty simple because the lug holes, you can see, are directly across from each other, so it makes it easier to measure. So all you have to do is just pick any one of the holes, let's say this one, and measure from the center of this hole directly across to the center of the hole right across from it. So on this wheel, it'll measure 5 1/2 inches. So that means it's a 6-lug 5 1/2 inch bolt pattern.
This does use a wheel lug size of 1/2 inch by 20. Weight capacity on just the wheel is 2,830 pounds. If you notice, it does not come with a center cap. If you do want a center cap, we do sell those separately on our website. What you wanna make sure is when you do purchase the center cap that you need to get one with the diameter that will fit this pilot hole.
Because when you install the cap, it'll install through this hole. So the diameter on this pilot hole is 4.25 inches. The tire is a Westlake radial tire. It is constructed with double steel belts, double polyester plies for a nice, long life. They do use a nylon tread firming belt overlay around the tire to help prevent tread separation. And it is a radial ply tire, so it is great for highway use. It is also stamped ST, which stands for Special Trailer Tire, means it has the sturdy sidewall so they can handle heavy loads. It is created specifically for trailers, not intended for use on other vehicles. The tire size, which will be stamped on the sidewall, right here, you can see ST, as we mentioned, for Special Trailer, 225, 75R15, R means it's a radial. Section width, 8.8 inches. Overall diameter from the bottom to the top when it's inflated, it's 28.3. And this tire is a Load Range E, which means it's a 10-ply rated tire. Has a maximum load capacity of 2,830 pounds at 80 PSI. Then now this tire wheel assembly does meet the DOT, Department of Transportation, specifications. And they do put a speed rating on the tire, and it is stamped on the tire. And they stamp it with a letter designation. And where that's located is right after the tire size we just went over. You'll see two numbers, and then the letter at the end. Speed rating L will mean that it has a 75 mile per hour speed rating. They do offer complimentary roadside assistance for two years. Flat tire services available 24/7 anywhere in the U.S., Canada, or Puerto Rico. But that's gonna do it for the review on this Westlake ST225/75R15 radial trailer tire in a Load Range E, mounted on this 15 inch glossy black Margay Series aluminum wheel with the 6 on 5 1/2 inch bolt pattern.
