Video Transcript for Checking Out the 6-Way Molded Connector with Cable

Today we're going to be taking a look at part number 50-61-108. This is the Bargman 6-way molded connector for the trailer end. It's going to provide your 6-way molded connector. It's got the nice easy grip finger tabs here. That way it's going to allow you to make connecting and disconnecting much easier. Now when making your connection points it never hurts to use some dielectric grease to protect those connection points from any type of corrosion. On this end it's going to expose the end of the wires.

Now this is going to be 14-gauge wiring. Cable length is going to be 8 feet. The wires are going to be protected by a nice cable jacket. That's going to keep them safe from any type of damage. Now when installing this, you always want to double check the wire functions by testing each wire individually before making your final connections. That's going to do it for our review of part number 50-61-108.

This is the Bargman 6-way molded connector. .

  • Troubleshooting New 7-Way Trailer Connector Reverse Circuit Activating Trailer Brakes
It sounds like when the 6-Way Cord # 50-61-108 on the trailer was changed out for the 7-Way Cord # H20046 the reverse light wire that never went to anything on the trailer now is sending power to the trailer brakes. You will want to check this connection in the Junction Box # 38656 to ensure that it is not terminated to the brake wire or shorting to the brakes.

  • How to Determine Trailer Wiring Functions to Allow Installation of 6-Way Plug
I can help you with your trailer wiring. The first thing to do is to confirm the function carried on each of the trailer's wires/circuits. This is easy enough to do with a spare 12V battery (or the one in your vehicle). What you want to do is connect 12V power to each wire, one at a time. Typically white wires are ground so connect the white wire to the battery negative post. You may be able to rtace the wires and find the one that attaches to the trailer frame as ground. Then connect...

  • Replacing Trailer Wiring Harness on a 1976 Jayco Eagle Pop Up Trailer
Replacing the wiring harness on your 1976 Jayco Eagle pop up trailer should be fairly easy. If your trailer is set up with brake/turn signals, and tail lights only then I would remove the factory square 6-way wiring connector and replace it with a 4-way flat connector, item # 18004. This connector will wire as follows the white wire should go to ground on the trailer frame, the brown wire attaches to the trailer tail light wire, the yellow wire attaches to the trailer left turn and brake...

  • Installing 6 Way Trailer Connector for Dump Trailer
You're right when referring to the #5 pin at the 10 o'clock opposite the ground wire when looking at the back of the trailer side connector. This should be the pin that corresponds to the brake controller output, but this will also depend on the wiring of your trailer. If you don't already have the connectors, I recommend the Bargman 6 Way Connector # 50-61-108 or vehicle side 6 Way Connector # 50-86-007. If you need any 10-gauge wire # 10-1-1, it is available by the foot. Traditionally...

  • 6-Way to 6-Way Coiled Adapter for Flat Towed Setup
Hey Stewart, so the only option would be the Blue Ox coiled adapter part # BX8862. We've sold quite a few of these and all of the feed back has been really good. I feel very confident recommending this for you.

  • Availability of a 6-Way Connector for a Tow Vehicle That is Compatible With Bargman Part # 50-61-108
There are a few different options for you so that the 6-Way Molded Connector with Cable # 50-61-108 is compatible with a connector on your tow vehicle. If you already have a 7-Way connector on your tow vehicle you can simply use the Hopkins Endurance Multi-Tow Trailer Connector Adapter # HM47570 which will convert your 7-Way to a 6-Way with the option to connect a 5-Way or 4-Way without an adapter as well. If you are simply wanting to rewire the connector on your tow vehicle so that it...

  • Availability of 6-Way Trailer End Cable in 25 Foot Length
To construct a 25 foot long cable with a 6-way trailer plug on it, you'd want to purchase the Deka Jacketed 6-Wire Cable, part # DW04906-1. The wire is sold by the foot. You'd wire the cable onto the Hopkins Endurance # HM48440 6-way trailer end plug. Bargman doesn't offer a 6-way molded connector with a 25 foot length. You can see current pricing on the items I recommended by using the provided links.

  • Recommended 6 Way Trailer End Connector / Conector De Remolque De 6 Pines Recomendado
For the trailer side, you will need the 6-Way Molded Connector with Cable # 50-61-108. This will measure 8 feet long and will be more heavy duty than some of the other options we have. I know you mentioned already having the 6 Way on your 2020 Chevy Colorado, but if you want another good option for this, the Hopkins # HM48420. This another heavy duty option and will match the trailer end perfectly. Para el lado del remolque, necesitará el conector moldeado de 6 vías con cable # 50-61-108....
