Jeff: Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're going to take a look at this Hopkins seven way blade to six way round adapter. Now this adapter will plug into your vehicle's side seven way blade socket, and it converts your connector format to a six way round pin type. You can see it has this nice tethered dust cap on it, then when it's not plugged in, you can protect the terminals.Now, one note on this adapter, the center pin is set up as the more common 12 volt hot lead, but it can easily be changed to work with trailers and will have the center pin wired as the brake. And to do that, what you'll first want to do is you'll need a circuit tester to test the pins in your six way connector. Basically just ground the alligator clip to the vehicle chassis, and then touch the test light to the center pin on your six way connector.
If the light and the tester lights up, then that means the center pin is hot so it's wired for 12 volts. So you can use it as-is.If the center pin is for the brakes, it'll only have power when your brake pedal is applied or when the manual brake lever on the brake controller is activated. So if it does work that way, you need to switch it. You can easily do that. What you'll want to do if you need to switch it, all you have to do is switch the blue and the black wires that are inside this adapter.
So what you'll do is basically just remove this tethered dust cap, and then if you'll notice right here, there's two screws here and then two right up here. If you just unscrew all four of those screws, this'll split in half, in the inside you'll be able to see where the black wire is attached to the center pin. And then you also see a blue wire, all you have to do is just switch the black and the blue wire, attach them back down, put your screws in. Go ahead and put your dust cap back on, and just like that you're ready to go. So it's pretty easy to switch between the two.But that should do it for the review on the Hopkins seven way blade to six way round adapter..

We had been having trouble with our other adapters, no brakes or intermittent brakes. This adapter fits better than any of the others ever have, great connection and is holding tight. I will be picking up some more of these. The only downside to me was they came on the value shipping which is rather delayed for us and I would rather pay to get it here more quickly. I was needing it and it was several days getting here. We ship a lot and I know shipping directly with USPS goes faster than that and is not expensive.
Added the gooseneck trailer plug in bed and I wanted to be compatible with new and old style plugs. Adapor worked great.

Excellent
I unplugged the broken plug-in trailer part from my truck
and attached the new part that I bought from your company. It actually fit in the same holes which I bolted back on. Plugged it back in to my truck, hooked up my horse trailer and all my lights worked!!!! I didn’t replace the male end on the horse trailer and it all matched up perfectly. Very easy to install
Bought this adapter to use pulling our horse trailer. It's worked great.

One year ago I called etrailer to order parts. The customer service rep was very knowledgeable and helpful. Thank goodness for knowledgeable people. Makes my life easier. I do think etrailer has a good system in place and a desire to excell and be good at what they do. The products still work fine. Thank goodness- since etrailer doesn't do the manufacturing.

Very good product, fit both ends well. the 6 point side that is for a trailer was just a tad loose but alittle electrical tape for extra insurance works fine.
Was easy to change 12v and electric brake wire internally for trailers with the two opposite of each other causing brakes to lock.
This was just the adapter I was looking for but no one had enough information to determine the brake signal wiring for sure - except for etrailer. Their technical information is always way ahead of the others. The price was great as well. Delivery was outstanding. They will get all of my business for trailer supplies.
Plug works great
Works as designed. It's wired for the six pin round to have the center pin as the aux, and the electric brake on the outer ring, which is fine. I note the advertisement says these two pins can easily be swapped, but there was nothing in the instructions which indicated how that might be done.
Great products, fast delivery and good prices. They had everything in stock including the Ford specific brake cable and 7 to 6 pole adapter. Ordered last Monday. Received on Thursday. Put every in this weeked and am using it today (one week after order placed.

The product works fine but... what a great company. An informative website and great followup. All companies could learn something from eTrailer's example. They really care about what I think.
Got a new truck and needed an adapter for our soon to be traded in trailer. This worker great. I have ordered several items form etrailer and their service is great.
The product was good, however it doesn't fit into my 7-way plug. Something is not aligned right.
Bought this in case I might need it one day. Have not used it yet. Seems to be of good quality.

It works just like new! No complaints at all. I noticed another review stated theirs is not fitting, sometimes the pins can get a little distorted on the vehicle side and can be easily straightened.
