by:

Sold the trailer,so did not use. Was not able to return, because it was electrical. No hard feelings.

by:

Love the molded design, notice the wires are different colors from standard trailer wiring, but work great.

by:

Haven't installed it yet, but it looks good out of the box!

by:

Shipped out of stor immediately. Got it in 2 days. Fantastic experience

by:

Installed a Hensley Hitch on my travel trailer and needed to extend the connector due to the setup. Superior quality. Wired directly to the junction box and junked the old pigtail.

by:

Good quality wire. It's working well.

by:

Ordered this a year ago for a home made trailer I built. It has worked flawlessly with no problems. I will not hesitate to buy this product again. Thanks etrailer

by:

I do appreciate the service I got from you guys. I talked to several of your associates over the course of my order and they were all extremely knowledgeable and helpful.

by:

Well built and works very well highly r ecommended

i did a complete rewire and added brakes to frt axle and after towing quite a few thousand miles to catch fish i would do it again

by:

As always the products from etrailer.com arive quickly and are excellent products. I always go to etrailer first knowing I will get the best product and at the best price. The Hopkins 7-way trailer wire connector is top notch. The rubber is pliable and the fitting itself is of top quality. Thanks again for the great and timely service. ,Wayne

My 7 wire connector works as well today as the first day. Excellent quality as always from etrailer.com

by:

The wire works as expected, bu BEWARE, the wire colors are not standard. etrailer should attach a notice with the shipment. The brown wire goes to green, the green wire to brown, the red to yellow, and the yellow to the backup light (purple).
I wish I'd realized that BEFORE I installed it and trimmed the wires inside my wiring block!!

Fortunately, because I don't have a backup light on the trailer, I could move all wires left by one post, so that the wire lengths still worked. Otherwise, it would have caused real problems.

Sam B~~Thanks for your comments. There are two standards in the industry for 7 Blade cables. The standard that this product is wired to is the RV standard. The second standard for the 7 Blade cables is newer than the first but is becoming more popular. We do manufacture 7 Blade cables to both of these wire color standards.

by:

Quality product. Nice heavy gauge wire for the power, ground, and electric brake circuits. The only complaint I have is the unique (non standard) color coding of the individual wires. This would be so much simpler if they used industry standard color coding on the conductors in the cable.

I used this product to update/repair the rather shabby OEM wiring harness. It worked perfectly. I love etrailer!

Still working perfectly

by:

Great product!

by:

Not my first order from etrailer and definitely not my last. My only complaint would be in the packing of small or fragile items loosely in a box with heavier items. One of the trailer light mounts was broken when it got here. No other issues though.

We do our best to package our orders so that they will arrive to you in good condition. I will send this to our shipping department manager for review.

This was exactly the product we wanted and it arrived exactly when you said it would. Thank you very much. We will be using this on a fifth wheel homemade trailer.

It worked great. Thanks.

by:

I purchased a female ( TRAILER SIDE) wiring harness and a wiring connector box for connecting the trailer body wiring and trailer plug. This combination works perfectly with my 8 TON goose neck trailer an one ton dual wheel truck. I use Hopkins wiring connectors and accessories on all my farm equipment. and have been very satisfied with them.

by:

I liked the Product at first but 1 day short of a year later the cord outer jacket has separated from the plug itself rendering it completely exposed to the elements. Cord does not have a 1 yr warranty. I will not be reordering this cord. Hopkins is always my go to for trailer wiring components but no longer will be for 7 way pigtails. Cord has never been abused in any way and only gets light use.

by:

Both the 11' trailer connector and the Junction box were exactly the items that my project needed. They were used to rewire a gooseneck horse trailer.

by:

Very simple hook up. Heavy duty connection which has never given me any trouble. This wiring is now on my sons trailer. I installed the same product on my trailer in 2005 and its still 100 percent operational.would recommend to anyone.

by:

Used this on my Arctic Fox TT to replace the original pigtail which never properly fit the Hopkins connector on my Toyota Tundra. This one is the real deal, much better mechanical and therefore better electrical connection. Not overly tight, yet snug and secure. Should have installed this years ago! Highly recommended.

by:

Great addition

by:

This cable was of good quality, however, the wiring was different than the typical 7-pin RV connectors. I had to move wires around to make it work on my application.

by:

the wire colors do not match brown was for left turn signal the only two wires that are right are the white and blue so if you purchase this product make sure you
check it first before you wire it in or you will cut it off and rewire it

There is more than one accepted wire color code convention for a 7-way trailer connector, which is why we list the wire color code in the product description above.

by:

I use 4 trucks to pull our horse trailers . 2 with 8' beds, 1 has only the plug under the bumper. the other 2 trucks are short bed trucks again 1 has only the plug under the rear bumper.
This cord works well with the different trucks . I had 2 trailers that needed replacement cords. Color code is the same on the Sundowner and the Exiss.

  • How To Install New Trailer Wiring On A 2015 18 Foot TWF Trailer
The wiring of your 7-way connector on your 18' TWF trailer will depend on what standard you are using for your 7-way connector on your 2020 GMC Sierra 1500. This 7-way connector matches your vehicle's wiring. I recommend the Hopkins 7-Way Molded Trailer Wire Connector - 11' Long, part # HM20048. The wires are molded to protect from rust and corrosion. This wire connector has three different wire gauges to match the different currents. I also recommend using dielectric grease, part # 11755,...

Yes, the # 84556UC3-EZ is the correct hub and drum assembly and the # 23-26-27 will work for brakes. However, you might want to consider the Dexter Nev-R-Adjust # 23-468-469 for brakes instead. Since they are self-adjusting, you won't have to worry about remembering to manually adjust your brakes. For a 7-way you can use the Hopkins 7-Way Molded Trailer Wire Connector # HM20048. The black wire on the Hopkins 7-Way Molded Trailer Wire Connector - 11' Long # HM20048 you were looking at is for the 12v power circuit that typically gets used to trickle charge an on-board battery, or for powering an electric trailer jack.
