Video Transcript for Feature Breakdown: 7-Way Round RV Style Trailer Connector

Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. And today we're gonna take a real quick look at this seven-way round RV style trailer connector. This seven-way round plug is going to let you connect your trailer to your seven-way round blade connector of your tow vehicle. And this features a durable ABS plastic housing and the interlock system is going to lock in place to keep your connection secure. The oversized finger tabs are going to allow you to easily grip the plug during disconnections.

And I wanted to point out a few things here. On this end, on this side here of this connector, we have these two set screws that's going to loosen and tighten this insert. So when you begin to run your wires through this connector, you obviously want to loosen these screws up and that's going to allow that insert to move out of the way. So then you can begin to run your wires through there and then you can just tighten these two screws back up and that will in turn tighten up that insert and that's going to close, that's going to close up against the wires that you run through here, giving you a nice, tight, secure fit. So that's going to keep out dust and moisture out of those connection points.

And then I wanted to point out this other screw that we have here on the other end on top, that's going to allow this connection point to actually come out of the housing. So you're gonna run your wires through, get this portion out and make your connections and then put it back into the housing and then tighten the screw. Well, that's gonna conclude our brief look today. I do hope that it was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy.

Thank you for joining me.

The rascal still works Fine!

On etrailer’s page it had etrailer name on connector, that’s what I thought I was buying. When it came it’s a Pollack. I could have bought one at my auto store. Very disappointed with the advertising of it being an etrailer item. I’ve ordered for years from them, not anymore.

I am sorry about this. The etrailer sticker serves as a watermark to keep our photos from being stolen. I can have a return started for you if youd like. Just let me know!

Fast service, great products, Had the 7 pin connector installed in about 30 min. It actually clicks when it is fully inserted. the charging station also was very easy since I had already run the wiring. Thanks Adam E,and e-trailer Rick

Parts arrived quickly and were very good quality. I will definitely use etrailer.com for all my trailer supplies.

I was expecting blade connectors as shown in the pictures and video and that is the main reason I purchased this item. Instead it had screw connectors.

Works great, easy to install

by:

It would have been very helpful if the item description would have stated that the trailer connector was equipped with "Spade Contacts" and require Spade Connectors, and/or illustrate this in a picture, and provide those connector as part of the package. It would have saved a lot of time in making a second order to acquire the Spade Connectors.

by:

Perfect fit. Easy to use. Great product. Using this to help trickle charge a battery for the trailer winch.

by:

Excellent product at an excellent price!

by:

I was hoping for the terminal blade connectors, like the video shows, instead of the screw type connectors that I got. The blade connectors seem to be more reliable. Still, it's a quality plug, it's installed and it works. Thank you.

by:

We have an older 5th wheel and needed to change out the connector to match up with our new tow vehicle. The connection worked out perfectly!

by:

JUNK! Steel screws to connect brass connectors! just a matter of a short time before corrosion.

by:

Great People to deal with and very prom pt

by:

Used this as a plug for my portable 12V air compressor to facilitate access to power, rather than clips to battery. As usual, over the past several years etrailer is my go-to store for all trailer & towing needs. Excellent variety, price and prompt service. Keep up the good work..............

We installed the lights on a trailer we were selling. Installation went smooth, lights worked great. We install the trailer plug on a 12V compressor so we could power it from our trailer hook up and it works great also. You are our go-to trailer supply store.

by:

My order got lost in shipping and eTrailer took care of the shipper's problem and promptly sent out another item. Great service.

by:

After a year it still does as it should

by:

Very helpful and friendly and always has what l need

by:

A great business with quality products!

by:

Wired it in and it works. Not much more to say. Works on my buddy's 2006 F-150 and on my 2003 Dodge Neon (yeah...you heard that right) and also on my 2016 Sierra Denali.

by:

Had to replace a 7 pin on an RV that got sheered by previous owner. The video on how to replace and the part made it very easy to change the connector. Saved a bundle doing it ourselves.

Still going strong

by:

Once again etrailer came through for me with a quality replacement 7 pin connector plug. The installation was easy and the instruction videos were just what I needed to complete the task without unexpected problems. I had read other reviews saying the RV trailer wire colors did not match the pin color on the plug. My replacement plug pin colors matched exactly with the wiring colors on my RV.

by:

My utility trailer was fitted with a 4 pin plug, but both of my vehicles are fitted with a 7 pin round receiver. It was a hassle always looking for my adapter. This plug fit the bill, it's affordable easy to install, and etrailer is one of the few places I found it available.

by:

For $5 I guess you get what you pay for. Already a slight crack from tightening the set screw. The color code must of been of been for an RV since its all different for my snowmobile trailer. It will work until I can find a better quality connector.

For something a bit more durable, a plug and lead connector like the ones Ive linked to would be a perfect choice. Keep in mind, theres more than one accepted wiring color code for a 7-way trailer connector, so be sure to pay attention to the color code listed on the products description page.

by:

Great product & great website for information. Was able to install a round connector on a Thule lights bar ((for a bike rack) that replaces a horizontal connector that is used in another country (Australia). Would have cost a lot for an auto electrician but cost $6.00 all up to do it with eTrailers product & info. Thx!!

THIS WAS AN EASY FIX FOR THE OLD WORN OUT CONNECTOR I REPLACED. SOME OF MY LIGHTS AND TRAILER BRAKES WERE NOT WORKING. THE CULPRIT, A WORN AND CORRODED
CONNECTOR. THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT IS DESCRIBED AT A GREAT PRICE!

  • Will The Facotry Brake Controller In A 2022 Ram 3500 Work With A Titan BrakeRite EOH Actuator
Dexter makes module adapters to connect the BrakeRite # DX82KR to Ford and Chevy OEM controllers, but unfortunately does not for Ram so you'll need to install an aftermarket EOH brake controller. The OEM module adapters typically have a delayed response time as well so it's honestly better to go with an aftermarket option to avoid this issue. For your 2022 Ram 3500 I recommend the Redarc Tow-Pro Elite Brake Controller # RED44FR along with the Redarc Plug-and-Play Wiring Harness for Tow-Pro...
