Plug is great it comes w/o the wire releaf support at the tail end of plug.

by:

the connector is "as advertised" (which is refreshing) it needs some sort of protective cover of the wires as they enter the plug, but maybe it is available and i didn't see to order it. I would buy it again.

by:

I was very pleased with this connector. It is robust and of high quality for its cost. I'd highly recommend it.

by:

Packing, shipping&Item PERFECT!!! etrailer your the bomb !!!

by:

I got exactly what I expected. Great customer service & follow through.

This is a quality connector that was used to support electrical connections between my RV and toad. Its held up beautifully & I continue to be very pleased with it.

I searched locally for a 7-pin trailer plug without finding any round-pin styles only flat blade. I searched online and found this plug.
This plug is very well made, easy to connect wires to and fits the socket on my Kubota tractor.
Also, it was in stock and shipped much faster than I expected, which I greatly appreciated.

I bought it to use on my tractor, but decided to wire accessories different. I may use the plug at a later date.

If you have any agricultural equipment, this is the easiest way to adapt the normal automotive style connectors to your vehicles and equipment. Great product, and as usual, ETrailer.com has the best price and least expensive way of shipping it to you.

The way the connector comes apart & goes back together is very sensible. The terminal connections can accommodate large wires - up to 12 gauge on all except for 1 that can go up to 10 gauge as far as I can remember. They could possibly handle larger but I didn't check since I didn't need the wires that large. They're labeled for standard 7-way trailer wire colors, which is useful for most people but I couldn't go by it. Mine was a custom application. If a spring strain relief came with it that would be awesome but I wouldn't expect it for the price I paid. Hope that info helps.

I have a 1993 ford e150 with a factory I installed trailer connector round pin. I couldn't find a 7 to 4 match anywhere. Then I saw this pk11700 adapter and it worked great. Plus I have extra connectors now to add other lights. Great product thx

by:

The plugs did what they were supposed to do, and the customer service was excellent.

by:

The cable end plug arrived on the exact estimated date I was given on the day of ordering. Wiring it is very simple. There is a screw for each terminal opening. Use a small phillips screwdriver to thread the screw out, insert the wire, and then tighten the screw.
A retention clamp is an integral part of the plug. Again it is a simple matter of turning a screw to open it and tighten it back down again. The plug is well made and should last a long time. It is exactly the replacement part I was looking for.
I will come back to etrailer.com when I need related items. I highly recommend.

by:

Just reviewed the truck receiver half of this product - same deal. Nice heavy parts - little plastic. Nice big round brass contact pins; due to the fact that these parts are cast, there is little chance of water/dirt/condensation working into the wire contacts. Locks in tight with the receiver. All in all, a good purchase.

by:

I ordered the wrong part, so never used this.

by:

Haven't wired up the connector yet. Would have been nice if the standard wiring diagram used through out the USA would have been included. Then the trailer would be wired correctly to any vehicle that was using it. Mine didn't have the trailer brake or back up lite shown.

by:

i did not realize there are TWO different sizes of 7 pin round connectors ?? apparently i have the smaller one and the one i got was way to BIG .....

by:

  • Is Center Pin on Pollak Heavy-Duty 7-Pole Connector # PK11700 Required for ABS Brakes
If you have a commercial trailer with air brakes and it doesn't have an onboard ABS system then the 7th/center pin on the Pollak 7-Pole Round Pin Connector # PK11700 would need to be active. It really just depends on your trailer's particular setup. Otherwise the center pin can simply be used for auxiliary function or not used at all. I have attached a short video demonstration on this connector that you can also check out.

  • Troubleshooting Trailer Wiring Where All the Pins of 7-Way Have Voltage on Them
If all of the pins on your 7-way trailer wiring connector have voltage on that would indicate that you have a short most likely between the 12 volt accessory circuit and the other circuits. I'd recommend going over the wiring behind the 7-way looking for any cut or exposed wire and fix as needed. I attached a help article on troubleshooting trailer wiring for you to check out as well.

  • Brakes Lock Up On Trailer When Plugged Into 2015 Chevy Silverado 2500
I am almost certain that the issue is that the connector on your 2015 Chevy Silverado 2500 and the one on the trailer are pinned out differently. I have included a picture that shows how a vehicle and trailer side 7-Way are wired (ignore the colors and go by function). It sounds like the brake output pin on the trailer is matched up with the 12 volt pin on the truck. As soon as you plug in the trailer the brakes will be getting 12 volts so they lock up. All you have to do is configure...

  • Should Blue Wire on Trailer Have Power
The blue wire on a trailer is typically the output wire to the electric brake assemblies. If this is the case on your trailer then the wire should only have power when you are hooked up to the tow vehicle and are applying the brakes, either by pushing on the brake pedal or by using the manual override lever on the brake controller. Since trailer wiring colors aren't always consistent I do recommend verifying that this is the function of your blue wire. You can simply follow the wire along...

  • Trailer Brakes Humming When Connected to Tow Vehicle
The trailer brake controller on your tow vehicle will send a small pulse charge to sense if a trailer is connected, so the small amount of power you are testing at the brake output pin on the 7-Way without the brakes engaged is normal. If you are hearing a buzzing or humming sound coming from the brake assemblies though as soon as you connect the trailer (without engaging the brakes) then I do recommend inspecting the wiring around brakes to make sure there aren't any exposed or pinched...

  • Continuous 12V in Aux Pin on 7-Pin Round Connector?
When using the Pollak Heavy-Duty, 7-Pole, Round Pin, Trailer Wiring Connector - Trailer End # PK11700 the key on 12V power depends on the vehicle. Some vehicles will have a keyed 12V power and others will have a constant 12V that runs even when the key isn't present. That 12V power will be on that center Auxiliary power pin. The running light circuit will also technically have 12V keyed power.

At the index guide for plugging the trailer end in to the vehicle end the pin directly below will be the ground connection. • Troubleshooting Trailer Brakes that Lock Up When Trailer Connector is Connected
It sounds like the 12 volt accessory circuit has either been ran to the brake output circuit or it is shorting out to it. Most likely the problem is on the trailer wiring side of the equation as it looks like your truck is brand new. If you check out the diagram I attached you will see how a 7-way connector is typically wired for you to compare to the 7-way on your trailer. To check for shorts you would need to go over the wiring of the connectors looking for any bare wire that might...

  • What is an ICC Marker Light for a 60 Foot Gooseneck Trailer
ICC stands for Interstate Commerce Commission. An ICC light is on a switch, though it could also be wired into another circuit such as the running lights. It is basically so that when you flip the switch the marker lights will flash. Typically this was only found on commercial applications (the trucking industry). The ICC was abolished in the mid 1990s. You can look up current regulations as specified for trailers by the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard or FMVSS 108 for the US and...

You are correct that normally you will see around 12 volts of power at the vehicle connector for the running lights circuit but the fact that you are testing 13.5 to 13.8 volts is not out of the ordinary and it does not indicate any kind of issue. This is not too high. As long as your trailer lights are working as they should when the trailer is connected you are good to go!

The brake output pin shouldn't have any voltage on it when the brakes aren't applied. If there's voltage on this pin it's going to activate the trailer brakes.
