Video Transcript for In-Depth Review of the TorkLift Wiring Harness Extension for 21" SuperTruss Hitch Extender

Today we're going to be taking a look at the Torque lift line of wiring harness extensions for use with the super truck hitch extenders. These are available in several different lengths. Just depending on how long that hitch extender that you're using is going to be. This is Torque's Lifts 36" extension that matches their 36" super stress. If you're going with the longer super truss, get the longer. If you're going with the shorter, get the shorter. Really a nice option to where you can plug it right into the back of your vehicle, bring your power down to where it's right here, readily available and accessible for you to get to. What we're going to do is take our, what looks like a trailer plug end, we're going to pass it through our bracket.

It's just flexible enough we can kind of bend that bracket so allow it to come through. Then here's what we want, that's our 7 pole connector. We're going to be bale to hook our trailer up right here. We've got the nice safety chain connections there an then also our wiring connection. Slide that in.

We're pass our screw through the face there and then just put our nuts on the back. Now, the hardware's not provided so you'll need some hardware to pass through there. You can see our bracket's kind of got the oblong holes to make it to where it'll fit a lot of different style harnesses. I'm going to put a flat washer on to give our nut a good surface to bite to when we tighten it down. Now we can go ahead and tighten those down as well. At that point, we're mounted on, got a nice secure connection point.

We can basically just plug this right into the back of our truck. You don't want this to be hanging down underneath our hitch where it might drag or something like that. That will complete today's look at the Torque Lift wiring harness extensions for the super truck hitch extender.

Works great. ON gripe is the self drilling tappers provided. I assumed they are for securing the socket at the hitch. Pretty wimpy and would definitely not work with the hitch extension. Replace with 1/4-20 SS screws for a better, more secure and rust free mount.

by:

Harness is useless without the hitch that was ordered but never delivered. We will not use etrailer in the future.

by:

Pretty straight-forward, well made, and does what it's supposed to do.

by:

Everything from ordering and receiving this was wonderful, I have ordered from e trailer on the past and they haven’t disappointed me yet..

THE TORKLIFT WIRING HARNESS IS A TIME SAVER, I NO LONGER HAVE TO REACH OVER MY FENDER TO HOOK UP MY 5TH WHEEL CAMPER, I NOW CONNECT MY CAMPER WIRING HARNESS AT THE TAILGATE.
THE MAXXAIR II COVER WILL NOW ALLOW ME TO LEAVE MY VENT COVER OPEN AT ALL TIMES. BE ABLE TO GET AIR INTO OUR CAMPER EVEN WHILE I'M DRIVING IT. THE FRESHER AIR WILL ALLOW US TO SLEEP EASIER THAN TO GET INTO A HOT CAMPER AFTER A LONG DAY IN THE SUN.

Best buy ever. Now I have a safe reasonable connection, without stretching

Would have been 5 star if bolts had been included

by:

No review yet since I have not seen the hitch; it was delivered to my brother's house in SC and I am in Alaska. But I am headed down that way over the weekend to install the hitch on my truck down there. If you really want a star rating though, I would give the service from etrailer a 5 star. Shipping was quicker than expected.

by:

The Torklift Wiring Harness Extention shipped quick and good condition. I plan to use it for a slide in truck camper. It will be used to extend the electrical from the camper to truck and give me another location to disconnect it from truck when the loaded hitch hauler is on. The truck does not have a isolator for the battery so I will use the manual disconnect and mount it in a easier to reach location.

by:

For your 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 3500, I recommend the TorkLift SuperHitch Magnum Trailer Hitch item # TL74FR over the small one because of it's expanded capabilities and the extra capacity. Go big or go home with a 3500 dually! You will be able to use the longer extensions like the two listed below you mentioned in your prior questions. • 36 Inch SuperTruss Hitch Extender and Wiring Extension For TorkLift SuperHitch
To ensure that you actually need a 36 inch extender, and not something a little longer or shorter, TorkLift recommends taking the following measurement: If the camper is mounted on the truck, Measure from the face of the truck's rear bumper to the outside edge of the camper's bumper. This is the length of the extension that you need. If the camper is not mounted on the truck: 1. Measure from the inside of the front of your truck bed to the outside face of the truck's rear bumper. 2....

  • Recommendation to Extend Existing 7-Way Connector to Clear Truck Bed Camper
For an adapter that will extend your existing 7-Way beyond the rear of the truck bed camper, I recommend the TorkLift Wiring Harness Extension # TLW6042. One end of the wiring harness will plug directly into your current 7-Way, while the other end features a 7-Way port for connecting to your boat trailer. This measures exactly 4 feet long, end to end, so it will work perfectly. I have attached a short video demonstration on this product that you can also check out.

  • Recommended TorkLift Hitch and Extension for a 2024 Chevy Silverado 3500
You're welcome Chris! Sounds like you've more then got the hitch covered. I can not think of a better option then the TorkLift SuperHitch Magnum Trailer Hitch item # TL74FR. You will be able to pull anything and everything with this hitch and it gives you the most options for capacity on extensions. Additionally, down the road if you need a heavy duty weight distribution system the highest capacity one is the TorkLift SuperHitch Everest item # TLWD1000. It only works with TorkLift's Dual...

  • Can TorkLift Wiring Extensions for SuperTruss Hitch Extenders Be Shortened
You could cut and resplice the # TLW6532 7-way wiring harness extension to shorten it, but I'd personally be leery about that as the splices could possibly be vulnerable to the elements and corrosion. The best practice would be to get a harness in the correct length so you don't need to cut it up. TorkLift offers the extensions in the following lengths: • 24 inch, part # TLW6024 • 28 inch, part # TLW6028 • 32 inch, part # TLW6032 • 36 inch, part # TLW6036 • 42 inch, part # TLW6042 • 48...
