Video Transcript for Complete Breakdown of the etrailer 7-Way RV Style Connector with Molded Cable

Jeff: Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're going to take a look at the six-foot long 7-Way RV Style Connector with the molded cable for your trailer end. Now, this is a pre-wired seven-way blade style trailer end connector that'll let you connect your trailer to your vehicle. This will replace a damaged seven-way RV style trailer end connector. It has a nice flexible cable, so it allows for easy positioning. And it is a molded cable. The covering insulates and protects the wires from the elements.

You'll notice it has the nice finger grip for easy connect and disconnect of the cable to your seven-way socket. And this wire does meet the SAE standards. It's a very simple installation. On this end, you just hardwire this to your existing trailer wiring. And the wiring codes they use are RV standard. So basically the white wire here is for ground.

That's a 10 gauge size. The black is for the 12 volt power, which is a 10 gauge size. The blue wire right here is for electric brakes, 12 gauge size. And then the other four remaining ones are all 14 gauge size. The green is for the tail lights.

Yellow is for aux or reverse lights. The brown is for right turn and stop. And the red is for left turn and stop. Again, the cable length on this is six feet. But that should do it for the review on the etrailer six-foot long 7-Way RV Style Connector with the molded cable for your trailer end..

Dont understand why the wire color did not match the standard trailer colors. Yes it came with a wire drawing but why not standard?

Still working great.

It is very difficult to get the 7 Way plugs with split pins these days.
It seems like the "flat plate" style it the "Chineseium" version that everybody sells these days.
These plugs with the split pins are much better quality and you do not bent you receptacle pins over all the time with these.
etrailer is the only place I could find these,
Great quality, great price, crazy fast shipping.
Thanks

by:

Fast shipping the 6' cable with 7 pin connector was just what I needed and will wire to my trailer junction box perfect.
Thanks again

by:

Product was delivered very quickly and is just as advertised. This cable is nice as it has two clips on each plug connector. The original on my trailer only had one clip on each connection so this should make for a better connection.
I have purchased several products from etrailer in the past and they have always given me the best service and great products. I will purchase from them again in the future.

by:

Cable does not adhere to standard color coding scheme as shown on the Internet and on the trailer's original wiring.

by:

Works great and is a nice replacement for beat up trailer wiring that drags the ground when relatives borrow your items:)

by:

Service was great, item ordered was the correct one,
arrived in the time frame provided.

Would recommend etrailer to anyone.
They have very helpful service people and
good prices.

by:

Perfect harness to “cut to size” for my Stealth trailer. The OEM harness was a bit short and had been damaged.

Excellent 7 Pole RV Connector cable. Update to damaged older unit.

by:

I will order from etrailer again. Very satisfied!

by:

I promptly received the new item and it perfectly fit my need. Assume service, excellent product.

by:

I suppose it works but the contacts in the plug are pretty flimsy.

by:

Much better then terminating the plug yourself, and weather tight from the factory.

by:

Did the job.

by:

  • What Wire Is Needed To Add Electric Drum Brake Assemblies To A Trailer
Hey Jared, When installing electric trailer brake assemblies you'll want to run 10 gauge wire # 10-1-1 from the junction box back to the brake assemblies. This will be you power to the brake assemblies and you can just run the other wire from the assemblies to the frame with a ring terminal # 44-5310A and self-tapping screw for ground. If your trailer doesn't already have a junction box # e99009 and 7-way cable # e99010 then you'll want to pick those up as well. I've attached a help...

  • Parts Needed To Convert An EZ Loader Boat Trailer From Surge To Electric Brakes
Hi Cindy, Are you wanting to transition to electric drum brakes or would you just like to switch to an electric-over-hydraulic (EOH) setup that you'd be able to use a brake controller? If you want to switch to electric drum brakes you'll need to know the axle capacity and bearing/grease seal combination for your spindle. You'll need to switch to electric drum brake assemblies, use hub/drum assemblies, will need a 7-way cable # e99010 and junction box # e99009, breakaway battery and...
