Wow, that truck bed extension really works! You may use this photo for publicity. I drove from Minneapolis to remote Minnesota to my off grid place...about 6 hours with no issues whatsoever! When we went to pick up the trusses at Menards, the guy doing the loading said "no way" can you get that in your truck!! Guess he was wrong
When I got home yesterday I had a bad feeling when I seen the box but was to tired to open it.tape was pretty much holding it together today I opened it only to find out the nut,bolt hitch pin and clip wasn't there. Disappointed
Made very well! Has some weight to it. The instructions pretty self explanatory. I haven’t used it yet but purchased to haul decking

Great this thing is awesome! Did my deck and was able to get longer boards,also my brother used to for his. Well worth the monet
Allowed me to carry 16 foot lumber in a 6 foot 4 inch truck bed. Folded down to stay out of the way when not needed.

Nice fold up bed extender. It’s been left in the truck since I received it over a year ago. I’ve used it 10-12 times. Especially great for tying thin flexible material such as 12 foot trim. I’ve also hauled 16 foot decking boards without worry.
Overall the extender was a great buy and good quality. Just disappointed it does not come with its own hitch pin and it just barley supports my long canoe.

You are right in that these extenders do not come with a hitch pin. What I would recommend for it would be an anti rattle lock like part # 63232. It will add safety along with anti wobble in the receiver. The distance from the center of the pin hole in your hitch receiver to the outer edge of the extender is 49.5 inches. This is long enough to work with most canoes and kayaks however you will want to measure to make sure. The longest extender that we offer is part # MAL32VR which would be 53 inches out.
Package arrived with box tore up, the hardware needed to put together was missing, called etrailer the next day, they took care of the issue and had hardware a couple of days later. Thank You costumer support!! Have used the Erickson Big Bed Load Extender 1 time to haul a sheet of plywood and a 16 ft kayak 400+ miles, worked great and then folds up to not take a lot of room up in the garage.

I bought this for my husband a year ago and it is great! He has used it so many times. It is easy to set up and break down to store, and does the job it is supposed to.
Item allows me to haul my kayak and my Grumman sport canoe in the back of my short-bed pickup. Works perfectly. As I got older, putting the boats on the top of the vehicle became too difficult, and this is a perfect solution. Item is easy to assemble and easy to put on and remove, and I really like the fact that it folds up when not in use. Highly recommended.
My Erickson Big Bed Load Extender arrived on time but was missing some parts because the ends of the box were severely damaged in shipping. I contacted the folks at Etrailer and they forwarded the missing parts in very timely manner. I am very pleased with the quality of the products they sell and their customer support.
Product seems very sturdy and the powder coating will definitely help keep the weather off the steel. The customer service department was excellent and the communication during transit was very good. The box came pretty destroyed and it should have been double boxed in my opinion due to the weight of the rack. It did have a few chips and scrapes, but all of the parts were there to the best of my knowledge. I look forward to getting my kayak loaded up and trying out the stability of the rack during transit.
Great product for the price.would be nice if it came with hitch pins so I don’t have to buy more or take them from something else.

It’s the best on the market! We had our extender delivered overnight for a canoe trip we originally didn’t plan on attending. The folks Etrailer followed up with a phone call after placing my order to ensure all info was correct and it shipped exactly on time for us to make our trip.

I bought it to extent the bed of the truck so I could easily carry my kayaks. It works beautifully. It also extends the bed of the truck to easily carry plywood or drywall or use your imagination.
Good product. Works well and seems to be well made. Flaw I found is the arms don't lock. They use their and cargo weight to stay in place. You can't strap loads down eyelet to eyelet or the arms will fold up.
Package arrived in rough shape. One of the tie points was scratched (sticking out of package). Seems to be a trend from e-trailer and the carriers they use.
This works great for transporting our kayaks and other long items. Easy to set up, fast, and sturdy. Good product from a good retailer!
This is a must-have if you drive a short bed pickup and ever need to transport longer items. It’s very sturdy and with this I can haul up to 16 ft long lumber.
Very handy for transporting canoes and kayaks safely in a truck with a 6-1/2 foot bed length.
The product is great - only comment is that the box it came in is not heavy duty enough for the weight of the product and was heavily damaged and one of the hardware pieces was missing (which was later sent to me)

I use this for hauling lumber. It's very sturdy and easy to assemble. Also once assembled it goes on and off the truck in seconds. Easily handles 14 foot boards probably could go 16 but I haven't tried yet.
I couldn’t be happier with my bed extender! It was super easy to assemble and now I can safely transport my kayaks without a worry.
