Use your foot to lower this spring-loaded step from beneath your vehicle's rear bumper to easily access gear in the bed. The step bolts on without drilling, retracts under your truck for storage and works with your tailgate open or closed. The box came without damage and the product was simple to install once I collected the right tools. I've only had it on my truck for a couple of hours but so far it has met all expectations and helps my wife and I get into my elevated 4x4 bed.
great product so far
Very difficult to put on alone. Need two people. Also need a thin wall 21mm socket for F250 Ford Pick up. Didn't have one and had to drive 50 miles one way to obtain. The recessed area that the nut goes in is very tight and hard to get a socket around the nut. The nut that came off the truck was a flanged nut and very tight in the recessed area on the bar that bolts to truck bumper brace. Very difficult to find 21 MM socket unless you buy a whole set of sockets and quite expensive. I don't recommend unless you have the right tools and a lift for your truck. Average JOE is not easy to install and you have to buy extra tools! As far as the step, it seems like it will be a help for getting in the truck with the tailgate down. When you step on it, it is a little mushy and not firm. It holds you but makes you a little nervous when first stepping on it. Just installed so will see how it last. Folds up and down nicely so far. Have dealt with etrailers for a long time and the customer services is always nice and all of the products I have received have been good. This is the first bad experience but wasn't their fault, it was the manufacturer.
Folding mechanism is smooth and well made. The flex when stepping on it is significant. Mounts to The bumper attachment point which is 12” or more from step position. I ended up adding an extra support to reduce flex. It felt unsafe when using it before I added the support.
Different Videos show different Installation. Written Instructions are not very helpful.
Easy to mount and works fine. Only issue is end cap on step keeps falling off. I'm going to have to find a way to glue it on so it doesn't keep falling off.
This old butt needed some help but I didn't realize how much until I got this thing installed. I thought it would be ugly but it tucks right up under the bumper and saves these old knees like you wouldn't believe.
Great for my old knees! Installation wasn't bad at all.
Wonderful buying experience especially during the holiday season. Placed order with sales representative so I would be sure to get the correct model for my vehicle. Phoned order in early Friday morning and it was delivered on Monday. I could not ask for any better service than that.
Thank you.
A well built product took about 45 minutes to install

Purchased the Trek Step for my 2018 Ram 2500 Mega Cab. It took my about fifteen minutes to install the step following the instruction provided. All mounting parts were included and only needed a few common tools. The step extends and retracts easily and feels secure while stepping up and descending the truck bed. The step is made of aluminum and feels to be made strong. Recommended if you need a little help stepping into your high truck bed.

I’ve had this step for over a year and it has worked great. It still works as it did the first day I put it on. It looks like new too. It was easy to install. If you don't have a step assist to get into the bed of your truck this will do the trick. Well worth the money.

The TrekStep is well made and works great. It was purchased to make getting in/out of the bed with the tailgate down easier and safer. I only gave it 4 stars because of some unnecessary difficulty installing the it.
The provided M6-1.0 x 75 mm Socket Cap Screw is only partially threaded. As a result, unless one or both of the 1/4" Spacers are used, the Cap Screw will not seat against the Mounting Bracket as indicated in step 3 of the installation instructions (see attached photo).
I wanted the step to be as close as possible to the bumper in the retracted position so I had to install the Spacers on top of the Mounting Bracket instead of between the Mounting Bracket and Linkage Assembly as indicated in step 7 of the installation instructions.
If the Cap Screw had been threaded like the Hex Head Bolts, I would not have had to use the Spacers like I did to make it fit.

Purchased as "used" or "damaged" from etrailer for a significantly discounted price. Arrived in good condition, other than some wear and tear on the box, everything else looked like new and was complete. Installation was relatively simple, 30 - 45 minutes including several adjustment increments. Overall I am well pleased with this step, it certainly makes getting into the bed of my RAM 2500 much easier! I have made quite a few purchases from etrailer over the last several years and find their product choices, website, technical information, shipping, and customer service to be truly superior.

Works as designed. I love how much easier it is to get in the bed of the truck with this step. Only 4 out of 5 stars because I wish the spring was tighter holding it up when stored against the bumper. Seems like the step may unfold on a big bump/pot hole.

Bought this as a step for my 2018 Ram 2500. The bed of this truck is higher off the ground than I remember my F250 being. You can climb into it (not a pretty sight), but this step makes it way easier for me (and everyone else) to get in with ease. I'm one year in and it seems to be working as well as it did the first day. No rust or change in the spring action of the step.

Great product! I call it my "old man step". When the tailgate is down on my Tundra, it was difficult to climb in and out of the bed. This step did the trick. It took me about an hour to install. It looks good and folds away neatly.

Great product quality worth the price. But installation is somewhat difficult for 1 person to do while laying out in the driveway. Not everyone has access to a lift. Took some doing but it's finally installed & in use.

Great product and fast shipping. The TrekStep parts were easy to put together. My only comment is the problem I had trying to bolt it onto the bumper frame. One of the bolt holes in the bumper frame was to small for the bolts that with the TrekStep so I had to drill it out.Trying to get it installed onto the frame was not going good so I took it to my mechanic who was kind enough to put my truck on the hoist and install it for me.

looks and works great. Easy to install. This new 2022 dodge ram 2500 is 2 inch higher than my last truck. This step made a big different in getting both in and out of the bed.

This is a quality product. It is solidly manufactured and functions exactly as it should. Install was fairly easy except for one minor flaw which is the reason I only gave four stars. I can now get into the bed of my truck with the flick of a foot instead of jumping on the tailgate and rolling in. The kit comes with spacers to allow you to adjust how far you want the step from the bumper. The problem is if you don’t want to use the spacers the cap screw threads are too short and the screw will not seat. This is a problem that hasn’t been addressed as I read other reviews that mentioned it and my truck is a 2018. I solved the issue by using one of the spacers and adding an extra washer which allowed the screw to be tightened.

Installed on a 2014 GMC 1500 Sierra w/o the step bumper. Installation was longer than the instructions indicted, but that was due to the manufacturer's bolts. The bolts for installing on the frame should be 1/4' long due to the design of the step. It was tough getting the nuts threaded. Would be better if the bolts were the same as OEM bumper fasteners. Other than that installation was easy.

Step works as advertised and I am pleased with it so far, but I will have to wait and see our it weathers a Canadian winter in Manitoba. (Road salt, slush, snow, sand, etc....)
