If you're looking for the best tie-downs for your camper, frame-mounted is the way to go. The frame is the most solid part of your entire vehicle, so it just makes sense to attach your camper to something that's not going to warp, bend, or twist. Even more importantly, the camper's center of gravity is going to sit lower and its weight will be spread across the entire bed. This avoids a top-heavy load perched on top of your bed rails that's liable to sway and get pushed around by crosswinds. The camper's not going to shift or slide around while you drive; it's going to stay put, and your truck is going to handle just like it does without a camper.
Quick Tip: If you have a plastic or spray-in bed liner, it's important that you use a rubber mat under the camper to eliminate any sliding or bouncing.
Frame-mounted tie-downs are also a great pick for preserving your truck's good looks. The brackets install on the frame, tucked nearly flush to the underside of the vehicle. Remove the arms from the brackets when you're not using them and the brackets will be barely visible.
Completely custom to your vehicle, the tie-downs attach to exisiting holes in your frame so that there's little to no drilling and no need for any modifications. Because they're custom, you'll want to use our in-house application guide to make sure you get the exact right model. The tie-downs you need might be different depending on what type of hitch or other accessories you have.
Once the tie-downs are installed, use a set of turnbuckles (sold separately) to secure the camper to the tie-downs. The shank on each arm has 2 pin holes so you can choose how far out they extend, that way the turnbuckles can reach the anchors on your camper without making contact with your truck. Tighten the turnbuckles to the correct level of tension (not too tight!).
Make sure the anchor points are offset from the tie-downs instead of lined up with them so that they will hold your camper from multiple angles. This is important for keeping your camper from shifting. Two holes in the attachment plate of the tie-downs let you find the best angle for you camper anchors.

Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at this TorkLift Talon custom front frame-mounted camper tie-downs. Now these are a custom fit part. They are designed to fit the 2008 to 2016 Ford F-250, F-350 Super Duty short bed trucks, and without the border step underneath the truck bed. On a custom fit part like this, I do recommend for you to go to our website, use the fit guide, put in your year and model vehicle, and it'll show if this will work for your application. Now, this part will include everything shown here on the table.
It includes the two aluminum tie-down inserts that'll insert into the two steel frame brackets. Comes with the rubber covers that you'll put on here when you're not using the inserts, Comes with the mounting hardware to install it all, and a nice set of instructions that'll describe how this all goes together. Now these tie-downs will provide attachment points at the front of your truck for securing your bed mounted camper to your vehicle. Now these are front tie-downs. We do also sell rear tie-downs.
Those are sold separately on our website. Basically one tie-down will go on the driver's side, the other one on the passenger side. And then right up front here on the insert, you can see there's two holes on the tie-down inserts. This allows you to connect your turnbuckles that are from your camper to the truck and not interfere with anything on your vehicle. As I mentioned, the inserts that go into the steel brackets here are aluminum construction.
And I wanted to show you on those inserts, if you take your pin and clip out, you can slide the insert out. And again, they're aluminum, but if you notice, there's two holes here, and the reason they have two holes on the shank, it allows for different width campers. So if you slide it into the insert and hit the first hole, that's for a wider camper, you slide it all the way to the second hole, that's for a little bit narrower camper. So it gives you a range of whatever width camper yours is, fits your application. Now, these will give you a dramatic improvement with the vehicle handling and stability, and it is the safest way to haul a truck camper.
Prevents any vehicle sway and camper movement in all directions. These will let you haul your truck camper confidently by attaching the tie-downs to the strongest part of your truck, which is the frame, and vehicle manufacturers do recommend that all full high slide-in camper bodies should be directly attached to the vehicle frame structure. The frame mounted design ensures excellent handling by securing the camper to the truck's base instead of just to its bed. And it'll better distribute the weight to keep the set up from being too top heavy. To install these, it is a fast, no-drill installation, securing your camper to your truck. You can maintain the value of your truck and prevent rusted bed damage by avoiding drilling into your truck bed or bumper. As we mentioned, they are custom fit for your vehicle, driver's side, passenger side brackets, and these brackets, they will fit tight to your truck frame so there's no loss of any ground clearance. So it's perfect for any off-road truck camping. And what's nice, is when you're not using your camper, you can take these inserts out, both of these inserts. And then these brackets that'll be mounted to your truck. They're virtually undetectable when they're not in use. So when you remove those inserts, you can take your rubber covers that they include, just pop it over the opening of the insert here. And once you get it over there, and what that does is it keeps any dirt or grime from building up in there. So you put the covers on, you keep that out of there. And then when you're ready to install, you just pop your cover off and put your inserts in. What's nice is the hidden design of these brackets. They'll return your truck to its original look when they're not being used as tie-downs. And these brackets that bound to your truck frame, they are steel construction, have a nice black powder coat finish on the brackets and even on the aluminum inserts. These parts are made in the USA. And again, just to show you, if we pop the cover off, take your insert, go ahead and slide it in. I'm gonna go to the second hole and then line it, pin up, put it through the hole, pop your clip in, and like that you're all ready to go. You just hook your turn buckles to the holes up front here. I upgraded from happy jack camper tie downs. I like the aluminum talon tork lifts for their easy installation, zero corrosion liability, and unimposing appearance when not in use.
I purchased the Torklift Talon front and rear TC tie downs and love the fact they are lightweight but yet very strong. Being aluminum powder coated is great being in a salt air environment so no rusting like the steel versions do.
Received part of my order but did not receive Torklift frame mounted tie downs for the front for my 2015 Ford F350 and have not heard of status! I am planning a trip and hopefully will receive them soon as I have never had this happened to me on previous orders.
The tie-downs were a bit difficult to install for a novice but if you follow instructions closely they did install as outlined in the instructions. They are lightweight and have held my camper in place very well. I am happy with this purchase.
Ordered both front and back set for my 2023 F250. All good except one of the bolt holes for the front drive side is missing. Called etrailer. Option 1 - return (we'll see). Option 2 call torklift. Called torklift and left a message - we'll see what the response is. Viewing etrailer website, this is the proper fit. Viewing torklift website "There are no fits available". Photo included.
I purchased front & rear TorkLift Frame mounts. Thay worked great and safer than bed mounts.
Always a great product! Shipping packaging needs to be improved as these were received dinged up and scratched. Installed anyways as I didn't want to go through the hassle of reorder and return.

I bought the Torklift camper tie downs for my new 2017 Ram 3500 dually. I haul a Lance 850 slide in truck camper. They came today and I installed them in about 4 hours. (I work slow) I bought the Aluminum ones so I don't have to worry about any rust. They look great and like the Torklift that was on my old truck I am sure they will give me great service.

About a year ago, I purchased the aluminum Talon Torklift Frame-Mounted Front and Rear Camper Tie-Downs. The install was easy taking the better part of a day including a little help from a local automotive mechanic to loosen and retorque the truck’s leaf spring bolts. The Tie-Downs have worked great since installed with no issues. I highly recommend them.
I ordered Camper tie-downs for my new Ram 2500. I erroneously ordered TDL2126A for the front. They wouldn't clear the nurfs. A quick call confirmed that I would need the TDL2127A. I had to pay for the 27As up front and hope when I returned the 26As on an rmer I would receive prompt refunds. Imagine my surprise when they notified me that they received my return and the refund was on its way. These guys are super, especially Brenden C.

It's a little tricky feeding the bolts through the frame (almost lost one, but a little tape on the bolt/spring helped), but a great product otherwise. The mounting scheme for my Chevy 2500 HD is strong and ingeniously designed. No drilling or welding. The aluminum won't rust like other tie-downs mounted to the frame. It was well worth the extra money to get the aluminum version of this product.
100% Aluminum! Had to call TorkLift as it wasn't clear what components were AL. all frame brackets, receiver tube and slide in bar are aluminum.
Had steel torklift previously and completely rusted out after ~6 years. For the expense they should have been coated better. Steel powder coating adherence was terrible. AL better be an improvement for the $$. Time will tell.
I just finished installing the front tie-downs and am really happy with the results. Although the instructions directed me to remove one e-cable bracket, I removed both e-cable brackets on the driver's side to get enough slack to slide the bracket behind the e-cable. See the pictures. Instructions were easy to follow. Many thanks to big A for the extra hands, impact tool and torque wrench!
Installed on a 2016 RAM 3500. The install was pretty easy overall however, my biggest gripe is that I needed to purchase 6 extra Grade 8 bolts and nowhere does the packaging indicate that I needed to purchase extra hardware. Also, the drivers side mount was not manufactured 100%-flat so getting the short bolt in was a challenge but finally got it. I'm giving this a 3-star due to the missing bolts and no indication that more would be needed.
My salesperson was great, especially with the mess-up in shipping and handling. (Install instructions were not included) Of course, Torklift products are very well made BUT I did have to modify them ever so slightly, probably because my 2016 Ram was put together with a little less accuracy than was needed. Would use etrailer again.
